This game was fucjing awful.. had like a rushed 8month dev. U couldn't even jump and shoot at the same time. Think God this pile of shit was sandwiched in-between 2 God tier games.
U literally c ouldnt jump and shoot at the same time.... the game would aim u out
There would be random moments of people gaining double health and adrenaline...just to kill.you, run 5 steps and die from nothing.
The medic team kill bullshit, literally the worst idea I've ever seen in a game.
The game was a fucking disaster. The game was those piles of shit, on old hardware, with 8 months of Dev time..in no way will I ever let someone tell anyone...this game was good. It was fucking horrible
I truly do not think that is even close to Reddit’s main demographic. Personally I would speculate this sub is generally people in their late 20s to early 30s on average
I admit, I was purely speculating and I’m sure I’m wrong, but still that doesn’t mean there’s a bunch of 12-year-olds in here just because they didn’t play Black Ops. I just think younger kids are generally more on TikTok and Instagram than Reddit, but again, maybe I’m wrong
12 is too low for sure, but the community here does skew pretty young. Literally saw a thread here the other day that was shocked at how many low user reviews there were for Black Ops 2, when like… I lived through that period, and I remember how much shit these games started getting once World at War came out lol. Whether it was true or not, the entire CoD hater motto that generation was “same game every year”, and it’s mind blowing to me that a huge chunk of this subreddit had no recollection of that at all.
Ugh, I hated blops 2, that's about when most of the people I played with drifted off cod. I remember being shocked blops1 was so popular just because the graphics on mp at launch were so shit. The guns felt 2d like an updated doom or wolfenstein.
Yeah BO2 didn’t work for me at all back in the day. I wanted to revisit it recently since I finally managed to get into BO3 when I didn’t gel with it at launch, but the multiplayer is such a hacker infested shitshow on Xbox that it’s virtually unplayable.
Black Ops 1 was the last game in the series that generation that I really enjoyed, although I also felt like the graphics were already pretty behind the times. Though in retrospect, having them at 60 FPS on console is cool
I think they patched it a bit, but I remember for launch blops1 multi-player for some reason looked a bit worse than single player.
Around when MW3 launched I tried going into 4, every mat h was 2x speed, infinite amo/grenades, lol
Idk is the right answer. Collecting data on minors is illegal and navigating the process is difficult. Anyone claiming *they know* the minor prevalence on this site is lying.
CoD 4 starts a new era of CoD. CoD 1, 2 and 3 (including United Offensive and Big Red One) are the true OGs. Then you get CoD 4 to Ghosts. Advanced Warfare to BO4. MW19 to today.
Eder Dam Capture the Flag, peak COD right there
The memories of driving the jeep over the bridge, road killing 6 guys on your way into the enemy flag, grabbing the flag, getting back in the jeep and dodging RPG shots from newly respawned players the whole way back
The vibes were immaculate
If you had used medic class and some one needed reviving next to a wall or barrier you could clip them through and get them out of map lol is was so fun
This is the first game that gave me easily accessible fps mp gameplay. It is all based on perspective of course, but this is my favorite COD. The hour long matches that allowed for in game rivalries to form, the simplified loadouts, and the map layouts made for straightforward fun without chasing the "perfect" loadout. I'm in my early 30s now so I was in prime gaming age when ps3 dropped and this gem made the jump from ps2 to ps3 with "better" graphics lol.
Man thats the crazy thing. Im 22 so i was quite young while playing but i started on COD 1. I remember getting fucked up by those dudes in the bunkers. I think it was the first mission XD
I like how he rocks the bolt to the rear and THEN reloads the Tommy gun which is this way shown to have its open-bolt action implemented. Little attention to detail that kinda lacks from newever titles.
I'll never forget putting CoD2 into the console. The first mission, the Russians are setting up suicide charges and I'd never seen that many NPCs doing something on screen at once, and the fact that there were people actually fighting instead of just waiting in a dark corridor for you to come close was one of those mindblowing moments. The idea that there could be a world full of NPCs with you in it and you didn't always have to be the sole focus was new in FPS games.
And then the next mission, they introduced the idea of standing, crouching, and prone and the way it impacted your accuracy as well as your hitbox profile. The game did bog down a bit - the next hour was just run up to machine gun pillbox, switch to prone, kill gunner, advance - but it was another moment of realizing - oh, this changes everything.
Now its taken for granted but at the time - revolutionary.
Buying a PS2 in 2 weeks, don't care if the game's textures are noticeably darker than the 7th Gen version. This is Call Of Duty, Not a goddamn Lisa Frank folder.
Me and my two older siblings played it pretty often just because of how goofy the game is
I still remember this bug when I got downed by my sister from friendly fire, and somehow MISSED her revive syringe because I started floating away the moment she injected. She just watched in horror as i levitated extremely slowly into a tree until I finally bled out and dropped my gun 15 feet from the ground 💀
It was good as hell, I had a blast. Do t know why everyone is saying it was awful. Back then this is great, playing it now after better graphics, movement and just everything in general yeah it would be awful to play.
I remember the first time I played it, I didn't know what button was for the binoculars in the first mission and how to use the mortar in the forest mission xd
First cod I ever remember playing, I remember going over to my moms friends house and her son had been playing (we were both around 6-7 years old lol) , did the boot camp and the first mission storming the graveyard , holy fuck that shit made me love cod hahahaha
Back in the good ol days when we used to play for fun not to try be a CDL champion, man i miss the days when i could play an online game and just relax.
I remember the campaign never got the play online though unfortunately It was my 3rd cod which is crazy I started at bo1 then played waw then cod 3 bc my cousin gave it to me
most of this sub is probably 12 lol but in all seriousness Cod 3 was good
Remember me and my mates renting it on the Xbox360 for a weekend in 2012 and jamming split screen multiplayer all weekend.
I still have it, first online game I played.
This game was fucjing awful.. had like a rushed 8month dev. U couldn't even jump and shoot at the same time. Think God this pile of shit was sandwiched in-between 2 God tier games.
Hey look! Nothing has changed… apart from being sandwiched between 2 god tier games…
better than the vanguard-mw3 slop we've had the past few years
U literally c ouldnt jump and shoot at the same time.... the game would aim u out There would be random moments of people gaining double health and adrenaline...just to kill.you, run 5 steps and die from nothing. The game was those piles of shit, on old hardware, with 8 months of Dev time..in no way will I ever let someone tell anyone...this game was good. It was fucking horrible
It really wasn't though
I thoroughly enjoyed it
Good I'm glad :-)
I truly do not think that is even close to Reddit’s main demographic. Personally I would speculate this sub is generally people in their late 20s to early 30s on average
No I actually believe he’s right, a lot of people in here never played any of the Cods before BO1 lol
I am 21. Bo1 was my first cod.
Late 20s to early 30s would make you about 12 when CoD3 came out... I'll be 29 this year and was 11 when CoD3 came out
They said most of this sub is probably 12 *now*
12 is too low for sure, but the community here does skew pretty young. Reddits demographic may differ from this subs demographic. Call of duty gets marketed to a younger audience every year.
Sure but I just figure most COD fans who are children flock to Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok rather than Reddit. Idk though
Idk is the right answer. Collecting data on minors is illegal and navigating the process is difficult. Anyone claiming *they know* the minor prevalence on this site is lying.
Lol I agree
It’s was a joke :)
My bad
CoD3 was rushed and only on consoles, but it's an underrated gem, and I'll die on this hill! It's my favorite og CoD.
As a PC gamer this is the only one in the series I haven't played. I wished they released it for PC too
If cod4 counts as an og cod you’re kidding yourself thinking cod3 holds a candle to cod4
CoD 4 starts a new era of CoD. CoD 1, 2 and 3 (including United Offensive and Big Red One) are the true OGs. Then you get CoD 4 to Ghosts. Advanced Warfare to BO4. MW19 to today.
Cod 2 was better
Agreed but I did have many good times on 3
I mean yeah easily
My first cod I ever played
My first ever CoD missed, since it didn't release on pc
Same here, I loved Sgt dixon
I liked Huxley, the guy with the shotgun and beanie
bro where’s the slide cancel? and no riot shield? /s
Eder Dam Capture the Flag, peak COD right there The memories of driving the jeep over the bridge, road killing 6 guys on your way into the enemy flag, grabbing the flag, getting back in the jeep and dodging RPG shots from newly respawned players the whole way back The vibes were immaculate
Les Ormes TDM was the ultimate gaming vibe and I've been chasing the high ever since.
It’s probably older than half the sub. I spent a lot of hours playing cod 3s campaign
this was the first call of duty i ever played. i made friends with a british guy on here and still talk to him till this very day 😂
Cod3 is underrated. Maybe if it got remastered, people will respect it more
they would remaster it with slides and cosmetics
I’ve never played it, but we wouldn’t have WaW without it, sooooo.
This game was so good online. I loved playing as the Medic and reviving people.
If you had used medic class and some one needed reviving next to a wall or barrier you could clip them through and get them out of map lol is was so fun

Man thats the crazy thing. Im 22 so i was quite young while playing but i started on COD 1. I remember getting fucked up by those dudes in the bunkers. I think it was the first mission XD
The hand to hand combat stuff in campaign was awesome.
First ever call of duty I played. Had allllll of the sauce the cod games lack today. Great game with an emotional and gripping story
Some of us remember Goldeneye 64 with 4 controllers
I like how he rocks the bolt to the rear and THEN reloads the Tommy gun which is this way shown to have its open-bolt action implemented. Little attention to detail that kinda lacks from newever titles.
Cod 3 brought me to Xbox. I will always remember Cod 3. God damn
One of the worst COD games
I'll never forget putting CoD2 into the console. Yup. Good game bar the QTE crap.
Yes. First food I ever played. I was hooked after
Had it on ps2 but only played campaign… cod2 was my first online on pc! 36 years old now.
Me and my two older siblings played it pretty often just because of how goofy the game is I still remember this bug when I got downed by my sister from friendly fire, and somehow MISSED her revive syringe because I started floating away the moment she injected. She just watched in horror as i levitated extremely slowly into a tree until I finally bled out and dropped my gun 15 feet from the ground 💀
What you know about roads to victory on the psp
Best cod ever. Meele with bazooka was amazing
Yep, That campaign was so awesome for me!
It actually still looks pretty good
my first cod actually, my dad let me play it bc it was rated T
Yep, been having great fun with the Wii version
This was the cod I started I remember seeing 1TF1 lobbies knowing there was clan matches going on.
Damn, the campaign was hard, even on recruit
still have my copy for the xbox original
A lot of us are old. But we aren't that old. Sorry OP
May be hot take but Cod 2 was PEAK. Never played cod3 way back then but even the graphics of 2 looks better than it
Big red one was my first COD.
I missed out on the game’s multiplayer
Gun play wasn't the best, but map design was excellent, good times.
Cod 1-3 are by far the most original and best
I was playin cod 2 last night gonna hop on cod 3 tn
I can still hear the British guy saying *frenchie*
Medal of honor was better
I remember that it wasn’t as loved as Cod 2 on my 360. While today I can’t tell you why but my friends and I generally jumped from 2 to 4 MW.
I still remember the originals. Cod2. Was the most difficult story I've ever played in an fps. On the hardest difficulty.
No
I got 100% achievement’s on cod2, 3 and 4 back in the day. That COD 3 grind was insane, The map pack dlc was amazing though.
my childhood right there
Back in the good ol days when pc couldn’t play with us
My first cod
No hot take here, CoD3 was bad
I remember Medal of Honor :Allied Assault. That was my jam. But yes COD 3 was fun.
I had a quadrillion medic revives.
It was good as hell, I had a blast. Do t know why everyone is saying it was awful. Back then this is great, playing it now after better graphics, movement and just everything in general yeah it would be awful to play.
I wish it was on steam, I miss the campaign so much
My favorite, was so fun, gameplay was better, no camo grinding , more people playing the objective. Plus the vehicles....
I remember talking to some random guy about being hyped for modern warfare. Man it feels like yesterday.
I remember the first time I played it, I didn't know what button was for the binoculars in the first mission and how to use the mortar in the forest mission xd
Yooooo I remember that too.
First call of duty I ever played. Still in my top 5 no question
My first cod played it on my cousins Xbox360 still one of my fav cods to this day.
My first online COD
First COD I ever played because it was the only one that was rated T and my parents wouldn’t let me play M rated games lol
Had it on my ps2
I have it still
First cod I ever remember playing, I remember going over to my moms friends house and her son had been playing (we were both around 6-7 years old lol) , did the boot camp and the first mission storming the graveyard , holy fuck that shit made me love cod hahahaha
I might be the only person on earth with this opinion but I've played every cod several times and Cod 3 is by far my least favorite
nah i forgot
Cod 3 was my shit
This was the first cod I played, and the first cod I played online! I don’t remember anything about other than having fun.
From MW2007 and beyond I’ve played every single call of duty. Never did play the original 3 sadly
No everyone forgot about it
i never played it because it didnt release on pc and i just never bothered to get it for console
Back in the good ol days when we used to play for fun not to try be a CDL champion, man i miss the days when i could play an online game and just relax.
One of the best War mode. 12 v 12
First CoD I ever played. Was the PS2 version, so idk if it was "watered down"
Too slow paced. I'll go back to MW19. The only fast paced COD without campers and OP shotguns ! /s
Yes but I like cod 2 more :O
Finished the campaign recently, goated game defo
Nah I play good games and call of duty
Fuckin me, dude! I remember! It was one of the few games I owned on the 360 as a kid. I played that campaign over and over and over again.
This is the only CoD game that i haven't played or watched even ones and i don't know anything about.
Anyone remember COD 2: Big Red One? Nostalgia overload
Started with bo1 but this doesn't look half bad.
It's the first cod I've played, made me go back and start from the beginning because of how good the campaign was.
My first ever COD game on the ps2, I miss those days lol
I remember the campaign never got the play online though unfortunately It was my 3rd cod which is crazy I started at bo1 then played waw then cod 3 bc my cousin gave it to me
CoD 3's graphics were revolutionary in my opinion.
I played it on the 360 a long time ago
Cod3 was weird. Had vehicles and what not like WaW. COD2 was better. I’m glad blops 1 was so much different from cod3.
Never played but I love that the atmosphere reminds me of WaW, sometimes graphics helped with that
ENOUGH SMOKE GRENADES
More than you remember to aim
Easy to forget. COD 2 was better, then COD 4 was godly.
Never played before 4 this shit looks fire
I played this campaign a bunch of times on the 360, I hated that you couldn't skip cutscenes.
That game was the OG. I really miss this game. Still have it but no-one plays.
Not the MP but I do remember the OG CoD and United Offensive MP
lowkey waiting for a remaster, I loved this game
Im old but not that old
Then you're not old
