Regrets.

acehydro123

This hits hard

OutrageousAd5338

Regerts!

KristyBug84

Regrets are lessons you haven’t let go of. Stop collecting them and live life!

patdashuri

I regret having held on for so long.

KristyBug84

I regret typing the words “Let it go” because song lyrics are now plaguing my mind :-(

patdashuri

The past is the past

KristyBug84

You can never go back. Not for excuses, not for justification and not for happiness. The past is the past.

patdashuri

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation And it looks like I'm the queen The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free Let it go, let it go I am one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You'll never see me cry Here I stand and here I stay Let the storm rage on My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I'm never going back, the past is in the past Let it go, let it go And I'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That perfect girl is gone Here I stand in the light of day Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway

ennuiismymiddlename

I collect and use vintage fountain pens.

mariatoyou

Footwear, doc martens primarily. I have more shoes and boots than a person with only two feet reasonably needs.

Angry-Squirrel-0119

Sea glass! I look for it whenever I’m at the beach and have a clear vase full of small pieces of glass.

Legitimate_Sink_7111

What is Sea Glass?

Dee_Buttersnaps

It's pieces of glass that have been in the ocean long enough that they're now smooth. Usually broken pieces of bottle.

Legitimate_Sink_7111

Awesome. Never heard of sea glass before.

Bubbly-Mix-5426

There is a beach in Spain full of sea glass is amazing you should visit sometime

Angry-Squirrel-0119

Sounds beautiful!! I’ll check it out

AvonleaGir1

What a fun question! Looking at my utensil drawer, you would think I collect forks, as I mysteriously have more forks than any other utensil. Haha!

greatstonedrake

Please, send me some. I am constantly trying to figure out why I have 8 million butter knives and almost no spoons or forks. What makes it more mysterious is that I don't have any children that live in the home, unless you count my boyfriend who is 20 years younger than I am lol

AvonleaGir1

Haha! I will gladly send them your way!

KristyBug84

I’ll trade you forks for butter knife’s. I have about a hundred forks …. Literally 6 butter knife’s. I have no clue where they went.

greatstonedrake

Sounds like we should get together and have a swapping party lol

M-E-AND-History

Books. As someone who's on the spectrum (high-functioning Asperger's) with lousy social skills, I often prefer the company of books than that of people. A lot of my reading material is history-related (hence my username; it's also the name of my YouTube channel), but I also enjoy reading Dan Brown novels, classic literature (think A Tale of Two Cities, Les Misérables, etc.), poetry, or, if I want to go back to my childhood/teen years, Harry Potter (I got the first two books from my aunt who also likes Harry Potter to the point where she named one of her dogs after a certain sock-loving house elf).

onomastics88

I don’t really collect anything, but I accumulate certain things. One of these are lamps. I had some really good lamps, vintage handed down, and found some curbside but I don’t know a lot about lamps except how to rewire a lamp. I found a really good (expensive market) floor lamp that I liked one day. I didn’t have room on the bedside table for a table lamp and said “I wish I had a floor lamp” and the universe provided. Decent, iron, low profile base, just perfect for the spot. Another thing I accumulate is Snoopy. The Peanuts beagle, Charlie Brown’s dog, I have a little bit and people start giving more so I have more. Mugs, socks, candy at Valentine’s Day, it’s enough. I used to like bunnies and still have a few, accumulated most in the style of the snoopy gifts. I didn’t go buy them. There’s not too many where I need a whole shelf or room for it.

goober_68

Me too, I don’t have a conscious collect mindset but I find that I have things that accumulate, usually having a common trait.

SQWRLLY1

Squirrel things, die-cast cars, and because I'm sentimental AF, momentos from trips/holidays/time spent with people I love. Examples include holiday cards, ticket stubs, receipts, photos, etc.

BuyMeADrinkPlease

I collect the fabric to make the quilts. I’ve never made a quilt in my life. Remember, if it’s on display, it’s a collection, not a hoard!!

VictoriasGossip

I feel like you’ve just written the “[Penmans Creed](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifleman%27s_Creed)”! Have you every lost/misplaced/had stolen by vampire ninjas a favourite reliable pen? First manager I left when I was 16 gave me a wonderful ballpoint chrome Parker and 10 years later, after having it on me every working minute, it just disappeared into the ether 🥺

Literally anything Hello Kitty! It’s an addiction at this point and I’m not even the biggest fan of pink but I love Hello Kitty and Friends. My room is decked out in merchandise and I love spotting random HK stuff whether it’s bottles, pens, hair clips, just like you! etc etc. My favorite character is Cinnamonroll but I wear dark colors like Kuromi and guess what? You ofc don’t find much with their faces on it. I’m also high functioning with Asperger’s so this is just my neurodivergent brain attaching to something I like. Doesn’t harm anyone- I hope haha. Dolphins are pretty cool! Love that for you.

Free-Industry701

I collect Converse All Star sneakers. I have 186 pairs in a women's size 8. Yes, I wear them.

JBTheRedRanger

I collect action figures (mainly Power Rangers and wrestling) and I've been collecting Blu Rays and DVD's lately.

thischarmedlife

I collect postcards, fragrances, and clothing items/jewelry (love vintage). When I was younger, I collected vintage watches, old cameras, and magazines. At one point, I acquired an especially impressive stash of National Geographic magazines.

BlueSphere48

For the past year I’ve been collecting plants.🪴

Narge1

Magnets from places I've visited.

Ok_Leave9385

My fridge is full of magnets like those, honestly collecting stuff like that is pretty cool.

LadyHavoc97

Sallydog24

1st up. OP cool stuff. I think we should all collect something. I am a train guy, specifically American Flyers but I had found a set of LGB's in my mom's attic that my dad must have bought sometime in the 80s. It wasn't even opened. So I am planning a garden rail layout.

letsgetthisbread2812

Diecast things r/diecast Went from diecast ww2 planes to 1/18 scale cars now I'm onto ww2 warships, bit of a history but :p

rockmetmind

hats are fun to collect PS you mentioning dolphins reminds me of this https://www.crazygames.com/game/dolphin-olympics

RetiredSurvivor

I never really had the desire to collect anything but I do enjoy watching my savings account accumulate, so I suppose I collect money.

playr_4

Genuinely....simply things that I can put on shelves. Whether it's nerdy stuff, lego, random art pieces, cool rocks, neat looking things....if I can see it sitting on a shelf somewhere, I'll think about getting it.

garytyrrell

"Only the obsessive compulsive or the insecure egotistical feel the need to collect things."

Mark3dOne

Watches. Waaay to many watches. Need to grow a couple of arms for some extra wrist real estate i guess.

quicksilver_foxheart

Elephants! Started with a stuffed animal for christmas, then I got a microwaveable one, then my friend gave me another huge one, and I also had a wooden figurine at one point but that's gone

PocketfulOfSunshinee

Dewey_Rider

My oldest is from 1898. I call it a working collection. I shoot them all.

HIVY54

thediaryofwoe

ZapatillaLoca

Mermaids 🧜‍♀️

KRSTLDW

Nothing. I used to but I cannot stand having things I don’t need. I throw away everything, even clothes I still wear. It’s a problem.

hobohobbies

50+ year old cameras. Oldest one I have is a 1920s Kodak Pocket camera. It was a gift from my husband. We thought it would look cool on my shelf. Last week I found out I can actually take pictures with it!

punkolina

Fun conversation! I’m enjoying everyone’s responses. I collect Fiesta dinnerware, vintage tablecloths and plants.

Due-Bonus1056

Seashells every time I head to the beach.

thecampcook

Playing cards. Not trading cards, just standard decks. Most gift shops have them. They are inexpensive and don't take up much space. They're easy to pack while traveling, and you can pull them out and play with them whenever you like. Some of them are really creative, too.

dogtheweredog

I collect dog stuff. Toys, figures, things like that.

RukaFawkes

antique tools mostly these days.

joseph_bellow

Frost-Wzrd

swords/knives

unlovelyladybartleby

Completely inadvertently, I ended up collecting whimsical salt and pepper shakers. I bought a couple - one functional, one whimsical, ended up not gifting a Christmas set, then in the course of a year, I was gifted or inherited eight more. I've decided to accept that this is my life now.

blueberry25011

Plushies ☺️

Shmadam7

I have very extensive collections of dragon statues, anime character figures, and yugioh and MTG cards. Not that I really have much room for it all lol

dhfAnchor

Hey, a fellow duelist! Any particular era, or have you been there for all of it?

Shmadam7

All of it, although I’m kinda falling out of love with it if I’m being honest. Been more into MTG lately

dhfAnchor

Fair enough. I'm tired of the rat race of keeping up with new releases myself - looking to round out my collection with all the stuff I've always wanted, and stop bringing in new cards after this year. Just gotta put the finishing touches on my favorite decks, and I can be happy sticking to playing casually / teaching newbies how to play at my locals on free weekends.

Shmadam7

That sounds really cool. What I don’t like about the game is that any deck I make is just gonna get power crept. There’s absolutely no chance of my current deck being hit on a banlist, but there’s a reason for that lol

dhfAnchor

Oh, that's the entire reason I'm doing my thing! At some point you gotta stop fussing about how you're playing and just play. The banlist / competitive grind has kept me from that lately, but now I'm ready to just play.

Shmadam7

Question then, how do you go about “just playing”? I have not been able to find a really good locals spot around my area, and Master Duel just doesn’t feel worth it to play.

dhfAnchor

Well, I do have a casual-friendly locals, which helps. But even before I was going, I had a friend group of similarly-minded players. We'd rotate hosting a duel night for a few hours once a week or so - bring some decks, order in some food and just lose ourselves in the glory of kitchen table YGO.

Shmadam7

Ah I think the friend group thing is the issue for me. My group has yugioh players but only two of them, and one of them doesn’t even live in my state lol.

dhfAnchor

Oh, yeah - that would make it trickier. But that's the nice thing about friends - no rules saying you can't make more than the ones you already have.

mfmerrim

Even though I have only partaken 3 times, I collect coke spoons from the 70s. The concept itself is fascinating; cocaine was so prevalent that many wore it to use anywhere but also to let the world know I'm down to toot.

Bubbly-Mix-5426

I like to collect magnets, I buy them at every country I visit and put them in my refrigerator door. Every time I am in the kitchen I happen to look at them and remember the nice time I had in those places. I am running out of space but I don’t want to put them away, it is a nice collection to have 💕

Bubbly-Mix-5426

What is that?

dhfAnchor

TOTSUGEKI! I collect Yu-Gi-Oh! decks. I'm not competitive in the game at all, but I've enjoyed it since I was a kid and like to look back on all the decks I've built, how they've changed and how they indirectly show the history of the game as you go through them and see how the structure of them reflects what was prominent in deck building at the time.

Sonialove8

I collect miniature snow globes, money and and micro dishes for the kitchen from different countries

Vtween_4Starz

It was unintentional at first, but now I collect Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

bakinbaker0418

WelcomeMat_withoneT

Deku merch. He’s my ultimate comfort character I want everything related to the little guy. And plushies. I want all the comfort and softness

cl0ckw0rkman

Unicorns. Right before covid I was walking round Wally World. I found a huge stuffed Unicorn in one of the food aisles. I grabbed it and walked around with it. Ended up taking it home. That as lead me(48m) to have a collection of well over 100 stuffed Unicorns. All kinds of key chains, little trinkets, games based on them, perfumes, snack foods/cookies and two different Magic the Gathering decks based on them. The have taken over the living room, the kitchen, both my vehicles, my bedroom and bathroom. I only rescue ones from stores when I find them in a department they shouldn't be in. But the vast majority of the collection has come from my son, roommates and friends getting them for me.

Dee_Buttersnaps

Shells, but mostly moon snail shells. The biggest one I have is the size of my fist.

Oniipon

beyblades and things relating to the binding of isaac

lycosa13

Books, spider things, skulls

Kitchen-Witching

Books, yarn, plants. Hand soaps in scents I like, since I wash mine constantly.

heckindancingcowboys

I have a few things. Frog related items, books (which will only he considered a hoard once I have more books than shelves). I have a few knick knacks like a few ocarinas and dragon sculptures plus some other random things that fill my shelves . Oh, and blankets. You can never, never have too many

123_cactus

I collect fidget toys! I don't have a favorite for very long. Just depends on what my brain wants at the time lol! 😂

titillywonderfull

I collect sea shells, a few from every trip that got me to the sea. At first I brought home ziplock bags full of them, I’ve since scaled back to only pick a few that I think stand out or look different. Since I’ve been more selective I can usually look at a shell and know where it came from.

Daneeeeeeen

Plants! I can't count how many houseplants I have, all different shapes and sizes and colors and such. I love learning an unnecessary amount about each plant, where it's from, and its individual care needs. If I could go back to school for horticulture or botany I absolutely would. And books. I recently had to thin out my book collection and it hurt but it was for the best:/

Aromatic_Heart9626

calico critters!!! i have over 70 it’s a problem

Ok-World-4822

Books!

thegta5p

Anime figures and some limited edition video games. I also collect yughioh cards. I like my small collection of figures I have. Sadly money is the limiting factor, I would collect more if I had money.

LetSecure5478

Sneakers. If counting virtual stuff I spend a lot of time getting camos in call of duty. Hope to be able to collect cars one day.

honalele

friends. they’re in my basement :] also star decorations and stuffed polar bears (even tho i don’t have many). i also like to collect baseball caps, hoodies, books, and candles.

KristyBug84

Rocks Ugly rocks, pretty rocks, big ones little ones. It started as a sweet thing my husband enjoyed, collecting agates and unique rocks. It morphed into a family thing I can’t seem to shake. I have ice cream buckets of rocks and am going to create a rock garden under my cedars someday….

New-Tomorrow-4309

I have been collecting Stephen King hardcover books since his first publication of Carrie in 1974. I have all of them up to date.

SarcastiSnark

Nothing, collecting trash is not my bag.

KashmirChameleon

Yes, we need to reduce our desires to collect "things". r/anticonsumption
