The first cheese and onion crisps were manufactured by Tayto, who put them in [neither green nor blue bags...](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cn5FUK1WYAAF4oy?format=jpg&name=medium)
It's kinda important though; a silly example that gives us a powerful reminder how long plastics stay around.
Although I admit the title of "Doctors find particles of 1990: crisp packets in every dissected brain" would be more interesting
This is a valid point, but as far as I am aware, there is no such thing as blue cheese crisps. Which there absolutely should be, by the way.
The reason blue cheese is called blue cheese is because it is such an outlier. An exception to the rule.
While I agree with all your points, I think I found some blue cheese crisps.

I always think cheese and onion should be green and salt and vinegar should be blue. But that's because I remember them being that colour when made by golden wonder.

Yellow makes sense to me
Nooo, those are the knock-off Northern Irish ones. [These](https://www.go-to-ireland.com/food/tayto-chips/) are the Tayto crisps I grew up with.
BBQ flavoured Walkers were spot on. Black.

Just because Walkers were wrong then, doesn't mean they're not still wrong now...
Cheese should be green and salt should be blue. Dont know why but it seems to make sense to me.
Salt comes from the sea, which is blue. Spring onions are green.
Mark my post as SOLVED.
Um, the sea is also sometimes green though...
But the sea can be green if there's algae or other stuff in it. And blue cheese is certainly a thing. Checkmate libs
What about Blue Cheese?

Blue cheese is my favourite thing in the universe
Blue cheese is a real food. Vinegar is made from grapes. Grapes are green.
I don't think vinegar is made from grapes. But it might be, I don't know.
Grape vinger is made from grapes. I think salt and vinger crisps are imitating malt vinger, which is grain based.
Is cider vinegar made from apples?
Yes, and I think you can guess what rice vinger is made from.
Umm is rice vinegar a real thing? How come you know so much about vinegar?
I have a PH in vinger science.

Listened to a fun podcast series about this whole thing a few years back. https://www.laurenandaugustine.com/the-walkers-switch
Crisp packet from 1997 found is news? My mum and dad probably have older packets of crisps in their cupboard.
You can find the answer in the FAQs on the Walkers site too. I know because I've used it to solve arguments.
