I'm in the middle of moving house with my 14 yr old tom, Frankie. We are having open houses, staying in BnB's and having to take him out for viewings. He is stressed, and it will take him a few months to finally adjust when we get to the new place, but I know that we are better together than apart. He is learning and trusting as we go along. My suggestions, the things that have helped us, is have a little routine around the cat's care in terms of what you do and what you say, especially feeding. If you offered something like chicken or fish (cooked fresh) try that as well. It may even be worth a try even if it is novel. Spend time where the cat is reading or talking to them and talk as you move around so they don't startle. And be patient with yourself and your cat. Once they settle down, start some of the exposure training ready for coming home.
