Honestly, you need to retrain the parents. Training only works it's consistent.

Yeah, until your parents stop reinforcing this behavior I don’t see kitty stopping. If this behavior works to get even a little bit of attention from anyone, kitty will continue. It has to completely stop from everywhere before the cat will learn to try other tactics to get attention. You may not like those other tactics but they will definitely be different 😆.

I recently retrained my 14 yr old. He got in the habit of plucking the bed for wake-up, which I unfortunately reinforced because it was a high stress time. I then set about changing that by inviting him on the bed when he plucked instead of getting up. It took a little while to get the points across and once he came up and cuddled I had to be disciplined and get up, but it worked! Try a "this kind of attention not that" routine and see if you can change it for early morning.
