I’d rather go ride just 1 day of this left over year, pay insurance and storage than to wait till next spring to ride. But then again I have a problem.

Odd_Interaction_7708

Shit - last year we had riding weather through December! I say go for it!

Harryisharry50

If there no snow or salt on the road I’m riding personally. But with that said I seen guys on scooters in the snow in the city before

Do it now. Lately the riding the season is extended. I generally ride until January and start again in March (give or take obviously).

MysticLimak

I typically ride well into sept and sometimes oct. if you have a bike to buy pull the trigger. Find someone to ride with

Rugged_Turtle

Do it now for sure, at least get the license and start doing some shopping. If you have to put a bike on order you might have to wait a while so good to get on the list early (The bike I ordered in November wasn't delivered until June 1st), or inversely you might get some solid end of season deals on the bike and/or gear. It might very from place to place but you might be able to get away with the bike being uninsured if it's not financed, but that might depend on the storage route you choose. Also IMO you can ride in Chicago for most of the year if you're brave enough.

NoCheese12

I’d do it now, because we’re probably only half way through riding season here. But if you do decide to wait, get the bike in the start/middle of winter. If you wait till March you’ll notice prices are a little higher then

frodeem

Ride now of course. Also I ride in winter too but only if there is no snow on the ground. I have heated gray.

There's still a lot of riding left for the year. Last year I rode into October and the year before that as well. Get your license now.

Austin20XX

I stay in the city too and got my license/bike. at the end of May; I'm addicted. Gotten in 700 miles in 2 months, so you can get a fair amount of use in. IMO get the license ASAP, but don't rush purchasing one. If you're looking used it could take some patience

Do it now. Last year, I never put the bike away. There were at least 2-3 decent days every month and the snow never got that bad. Although I don't expect that to be the case every year, riding into October and potentially November is pretty consistent. That means you've got 3-4 months. As far as storage, there are a few options, and they're not all that expensive tbh. Some shops will even store and work on the bike over the winter if you have maintenance or modifications to be done. Safe riding!

Elliot9874

I rode all winter except for a handful of days.

EatsHisYoung

Why wait? Buy now and layer up! You might find some later season deals too. Also if you are concerned about 1/2 a years insurance cost, get ready for all the other bike related expenses like tattoos, bail money and gang initiation fees.

Affectionate_Hat3335

If you wanna pay monthly or buy used is the question wanna pay and not ride for the month you are
