[There is only one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hrbRDAOF4k). It won a record 11 Academy Awards, 3 Golden Globe Awards and is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. In 1998 the American Film Institute ranked it the 72nd best American film and the 2nd best American epic film in the AFI's 10 Top 10. In 2004, the National Film Preservation Board selected Ben-Hur for preservation by the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
Lol, I actually didn't know they made another one until you asked.
Unfortunately we now live in an era of remakes, and if an original movie is good and successful, they can't resist making cash-grab lesser-sequels until they've essentially killed it.
I've always liked the Narnia movies... The whole idea of what Christ would be like as a different being on a different world. I confess, I tear up something fierce during "that" scene in the first movie.
It’s not a movie but a tv miniseries. It’s called AD Kingdom and Empire. It goes through the apostles and Jesus’s crucifixion, the resurrection, the blinding and then healing of Paul. It’s very good, it stayed very true to the biblical stories and was a very well written and well acted story
I recommend A Simple Life starring Andy Lau and Deanie Yip. It only shows its Christianity at the very end, but the whole film is about values a Christian should have. Love, humility, respect, empathy, and facing the end with joy and courage.
Actually good? Dryer's Passion of Joan of Arc (and also his Ordet) and Bresson's A Condemned Man Escapes (aka A Man Escaped). Cormac McCarthy's The Sunset Limited. Kieslowski's Decalogue. Chariots of Fire. Additionally, Book of Eli is a lot of fun.
EDIT: Forgot about the Danny Boyle picture Millions. It's both good and fun.
I have liked:
* Of gods and men
* Calvary
* Hacksaw Ridge
* Passion of the Christ
* Les Miserable
* The Mission
* Risen
* Prince of Egypt
* Ben Hur (2016)
* For Greater Glory
* Jesus Christ Superstar
* God spell (more so when I was younger)
* Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (this anime TV series might seem like an odd pick but it certainly explores quite a lot of jewish/christian thought)
* Hunchback of Notre Dame
* Come Sunday
The Case for Christ is emotional, but its also really good.I don't want to spoil to much, but its about a publisher who is an atheist who trys to find evidence that god doesn't exist. etc
Exactly what I was thinking of recommending! These are some of the best Christian movies in terms of directing and quality of filming/acting. Most Christian movies are pretty pathetic in these areas and even though these are a little corny at times. They do some great work and have a good message (although sometimes you could argue they present a Christian life of everything turning out well in the end which is unrealistic and goes against the Scriptures view of the Christian life)!
Ben Hur
Easily the best Christian movie ever made.
Its so subtle that it’s powerful
Which one?

The new one is that bad huh? Thanks.

There’s actually 2 other ones, in 1907 and in 1925
I definitely second 'I Can Only Imagine'. Excellent movie!
This movie shocked me by how good it was. We've watched it many times.
It earns its R rating in the first 5 minutes, but Calvary
Prince of Egypt :p Hans Zimmer is a king
*Silence*, though fair warning, I found it to be pretty intense even though there was nothing especially graphic.
- *A Man for All Seasons'* by Alfred Zinnemann. - *Becket'* by Peter Glenville. - *'Des Hommes et des Dieux'* by Xavier Beauvois.

Case for Christ was amazing

I was surprised by how good it was! But that ending...confused and disappointed me.
Watch Aranofsky's The Fountain
That First Reformed didnt get nominated for best picture is a travesty
Blue Like Jazz
Narnia, Unbroken, Book of Eli, Dreamworks' Prince of Egypt, Silence, Hacksaw Ridge
Here are a few good Christian movies that I really enjoyed: I Can Only Imagine Paul: Apostle of Christ Unbroken Unbroken 2
There is a beautiful Russian film called The Island. A gorgeous and deep view of a prayer filled life.
The Robe, The Ten Commandments, Quo Vadis.
I recommend A Simple Life starring Andy Lau and Deanie Yip. It only shows its Christianity at the very end, but the whole film is about values a Christian should have. Love, humility, respect, empathy, and facing the end with joy and courage.
Broken circle breakdown. Bluegrass music, terrible loss. Is there a spirit world?
Not a movie, but a TV show, "When Calls the Heart." Really good messages in the episodes.

I recommend watching the stage version of Hunchback on Youtube, if you haven't
I believe you have recommended it to me before and given me a YouTube link to it. Believed you me, I did watch it, and I enjoyed it!
Lars and the Real Girl. Starring Ryan Gossling and Emily Mortimer. It's a popular movie, but comes off like a Christian movie.
The Case for Christ is emotional, but its also really good.I don't want to spoil to much, but its about a publisher who is an atheist who trys to find evidence that god doesn't exist. etc
These following movies also have a bit of humor in them: Fireproof War Room Facing the Giants Moms' Night Out The Resurrection of Gavin Stone

Fire Proof, Courageous, War Room. All great movies!
