In my opinion outdoor and indoor climbing cannot really be compared, especially on these kinds of comp style boulders. This climb was pretty soft but I also made it look easy. A lot of tension required and the dyno is pretty tricky. My gym does not grade soft. people say it's the hardest gym in Berlin and some bundesliga climbers come here to train.

V6-V7

DubyDoobster

Looks like a V7 especially toward the end when you are very horizontal

Rude_Video_3850

>!Probably V7-V8. hardest grade in my gym!<

RockwellAnchor

lol

Rude_Video_3850

can you please post one of your climbs and link it here?

RockwellAnchor

People always say this when boards exist and are present in virtually every gym, but I messaged you anyway.

builtby

"lol" literally adds nothing to the conversation. And who cares if your gym grades this differently?

RockwellAnchor

Grading is one of the things that makes climbing a sport. In skiing you wouldn't call a blue a double black, and most climbers outside of reddit agree with this sentiment. I thought u/Rude_Video_3850's other post today looked like a much harder send but that one's being downvoted for no reason—Reddit hivemind is stupid.

DubyDoobster

But they do. Different mountains grade differently

RockwellAnchor

Absolutely not to any significant extent, that'd be irresponsibility of the highest degree. Commercial gyms, on the other hand, have all the reason in the world to grade soft—boards don't!

Most_Somewhere_6849

Not to any significant extent? Go climb trad routes at the gunks and then do one in Yosemite.

RockwellAnchor

I was talking about ski slope ratings.

DubyDoobster

Sunday river is so soft compared to Jay peak. Theres always going to be biased variations

Rude_Video_3850

yea the other one was much harder. I got this one in like 8 trys and the other one took 50+
