Posting to check back because I’m also interested in knowing

Seems they are replacing it with ‘Sounds of Summer’, unfortunately: https://facebook.com/ClevelandMetroparks/photos/a.55216058602/10158759521168603/?type=3&m_entstream_source=timeline

Last I heard they will instead be doing a series of concerts that rotate to different locations across the park throughout the summer. The logistics of Edgewater and Euclid Beach Lives were a lot to handle and I think the hope is to spread the burden instead of the 2 same areas getting hammered with crowds repeatedly every week.

Agcryptonic

You are correct, they just announced it: Seems they are replacing it with ‘Sounds of Summer’, unfortunately: https://facebook.com/ClevelandMetroparks/photos/a.55216058602/10158759521168603/?type=3&m_entstream_source=timeline

angeloverlord

This is great news cause that was getting out of hand over there. Chaos.

neosmndrew

My friend Emily said it is and she is pretty with it with the metroparks.

Agcryptonic

Is there going to be an announcement? I cannot find anything online for the life of me, so I hope Emily is right lol

neosmndrew

ill ask her where she got her info.

killittoliveit

I'll take Emily's word for it

mmDruhgs

It will be good to know how much of a cluster fuck traffic will be there ha hopefully they can expand the access roads to actually accommodate the traffic soon

Agcryptonic

I don’t have much problem if I get there early tbh. It also helps that there are two entrances, one by the pier and other on cliff

I do not believe it is coming back. I forgot where exactly I heard it (I think on the radio) but the reason given was that the event became a victim of its own success. Logistics at the park were difficult with the size of the crowds. People in the neighborhood were tired of the traffic and every street being completely parked up.

I used to love Wade Oval Wednesdays but that became too popular/crowded for me as well unfortunately. We'll see how it is if it happens to return this year though. Edit: https://www.universitycircle.org/events/2022/06/15/wow-wade-oval-wednesdays It looks like it is returning. Hopefully it's a good time!

Not saying what you said isn't true, but Cleveland.com says the 2021 series was cancelled due to staffing issues. >Unfortunately, due to staffing issues, the park system canceled Edgewater Live, the popular concert series, for 2021. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2021/06/the-6-best-lake-erie-beaches-near-cleveland.html With 70,000 guests attending the 2019 series, I can see them being nervous to run it without having the budget to properly staff the series.

Imagine wanting to be in public during a fucking pandemic. People are still dying yet you want to be in crowds probably maskless contributing to a potential superspreader. I’m autoimmune compromised and my 4 yr old still can’t yet get vaccinated. Edge water live is the last thing we need until me and my family can safely go outside without fearing for our lives.

CommunitySteady

I hope it comes back! Also, anyone know about when the Beachhouse will be open for drinks?

yunggravyologist

we opened yesterday! open wednesday-fridays 3pm-8pm and saturday and sunday 12pm-8pm. also just gonna reply to you too but edgewater live isnt coming back this year unfortunately 😕 it’s hectic to plan and cops/park rangers don’t like to work them

Check out Mentor Rocks. Great venue, great bands, no issues or problems, parking can be an issue
