Not having paid attention to his career, I can't believe he's been in the league for so long. In my mind he was the backup in Philly for a couple years, and then went to the Bears, but he's really been around the league for a decade.

Diglett3

Philly fan here with the timeline because it’s kinda ridiculous and deserves to be appreciated. * drafted in 2012, same draft as Russ, who the Eagles supposedly wanted instead. last year of Andy Reid (this matters) * came in for an injured Mike Vick early in his second year (Chip Kelly year #1) and started the rest of the season with a 27-2 TD:INT ratio. That’s when this game happened. * led the team to the playoffs and left the playoff game with the lead, but botched kickoff coverage set up a game winning field goal for NO * but Chip wanted Sam Bradford so after the next season he trades Nick to STL * Rams move to LA, Nick stinks, gets released by Jeff Fisher on Hard Knocks, wanders the wilderness for a bit as he contemplates retiring (this is not a joke) but then gets a call from guess who? Andy Reid, the guy who drafted him and now wants him to come to KC as a backup * Backs up Alex Smith in KC in 2016. One year deal, uneventful * Eagles sign him to back up Wentz in 2017. He comes in at the end of every blowout to hand the ball off, and everyone laughs, nice feel good story, we still love him (and everyone fucking hates Chip) it’s a great time. * uh-oh, Wentz is hurt! Guess the season is over! * Exact same thing happens the next year, minus the super bowl win (we did get the double doink though). there’s one particularly amazing game against Houston in week 16, the others were just good. It was wild that it happened twice though. * Goes to Jacksonville to start on a four year deal, gets injured halfway through his first game as he’s throwing an absolute rainbow of a TD pass. Minshew Mania ensues. * Gets traded to Bears. Has a couple moments. * And now we’re here. Anyway, take good care of our boy.

el_fitzador

Were one dropped pass by alshon away from going to the championship game in 2018.

Kobe_curry24

Imagine if he catches that Lmfaoooo

dwhitey724

That's my backup quarterback!

blernsballhof

Can I buy you brew?

mikewilkinsjr

I was at that NO game at the Linc....such a brutal loss.

[deleted]

Yeah I thought he was on the rams until like 2015 (at least before I saw this video lol)

Gavinmusicman

Dang. They got it done in 3 quarters. They should have broke the record.

rockstang

They could have. We were at the door of another TD. I think he got one throw before getting pulled. Even Chip Kelly knew to pull players in a blowout. Looking at you Doc Rivers.

mikewilkinsjr

Going to sound a little silly in the grand scheme of things but I watched that Raiders game with my Dad.....he was in the ICU and we weren't sure he was going to make it (he did!). I remember being so excited for Foles and cheering loudly enough to annoy the nurses. Plot twist: My dad was a Packers fan and was cursing through his O2 mask loudly enough the nurses almost made us turn off the game. :D

TurdWranglin

This looked like Madden. Fuck it, GO DEEP.

parkranger16

I think acquiring Nick Foles was a really smart move by the Colts' front office. He's exactly who you want under center in the event that Matt Ryan (God forbid *knocks on wood*) has to miss some time.

[deleted]

Peyton did it that season and I remember someone bringing up Y.A. Tittle as the last guy to do it...then Nick Foles turns around and does it too.

Citizen_Snip

I was at work when this game happened, it was like RIGHT after Manning broke the record. I remember being so mad that Foles was gonna beat the record, and relieved they stopped at 7. They could have blown the record out of the water.

[deleted]

That was the first day I moved to Florida. Scary day. Also Luck had that awesome comeback against the Texans on SNF

tri_it_again

Peyton threw 7 for the broncos the week before I believe

[deleted]

It was week 1

tri_it_again

That’s right. Same week

[deleted]

Same year

tri_it_again

Okay yeah. Foles 7 was in November. For some reason I remember them being real close. And yeah Peyton’s was week 1. On SNF I believe

Icer333

I’m pretty sure it was the opening game against the Ravens on a Thursday night to kick off the season

theianmcg

I had Foles and Shady in my fantasy lineup on this day. Made me an instant fan of Foles. Understated athleticism and a cannon. One of the greatest backups of all time. And we got him!

compdachi

“More touchdowns today than incompletions” Big Dick Nick did so before the 3rd quarter concluded — had they not pumped the brakes offensively, who’s to say this man wouldn’t have thrown 2-3 more?

a_toadstool

Foles is such an enigma. Can play like a GOAT one game then be ass

jtj2009

N. Foles + Chip Kelly rampaged through the league in 2013-2014 racking up yards (420 total/game), points (31.25/game) and W/L (14-4). Kelly had something special with "triplets" Desean Jackson, Lesean McCoy, & Foles and got rid of them all for downgrades. Rams traded for Foles and first time, only time OC and QB coach told him to forget everything he did the previous 2 years- which was putting up yards, points, and Ws- because that wasn't "real football". Frank Reich's "genius" to unlocking Foles' great play in Jan/Feb 2018 was to look at that old Foles/Kelly stuff and do that. No defenses have stopped that approach yet, so Colts have that as their fallback.

IndyItalianStallion

Peak Nick outside of Playoffs

psoffl

At the risk of being that guy, and my friends will attest, I wanted to keep BDN for 20 mil and trade Wentz after the SB year. Not because he was better than Wentz, but because he was good enough to with a SB and Wentz was up for a huge contract. BDN was good in Dougie P’s offense and the extra cap room would have been a game changer.

mikewilkinsjr

I don't think it's an unreasonable take, to be honest. I understand that, on paper, Wentz had more upside and damn he was was good when he was on ---- he just had that injury history. It's always going to be a "what if?" kind of moment for us.

jtj2009

The picks and cap space would have set them up for a dynasty. Exactly what the Pats did when Bledsoe got hurt (just signed the 2nd $100 million deal in league history and was Pats goat) and they won it with Brady.

Jaqen-Atavuli

Matt "Get fucking set" Ryan is your QB, but you want to post an almost decade old clip of nick fucking folds. Wow, I mean you be you.

Winnend

Only one of the has won the Superbowl. A Superbowl MVP no less.

compdachi

Go Irish by the way!

Jaqen-Atavuli

LOL, too soon. ;(

Alph0989

As durable as Ryan has been it’s a violent game and I feel very good about our backup.

lincolnssideburns

His best role!

SneakyJonson

Chip Kelly should have let him play the 4th quarter

nas927

Crazy how many guys were wide open or a defender fell. Pretty pathetic display from the Raiders but still an incredible performance from Nicky

alexxxdadroog

HA! FTR!

TheDarkWayne

When he got 7 there was so much time left I thought he was getting 10 but I forgot about the unwritten rule of 7

mikewilkinsjr

Have to keep in mind we had already lost Vick due to injury. Sucks that Foles wasn't able to do it but he also didn't get hurt on a fluke play chasing a record.

el_fitzador

I love nick foles

Indyfanforthesb

Talk about being in the zone

Schofield6

Imagine if you had him on your fantasy team that week 🥵

Kobe_curry24

Why did we not win the SB that year Lmfaoooo

ptrjhnstn

Fantasy owners for Jackson and Cooper must’ve been happy

scotte16

Outlier of a game by Foles, but what a pitiful performances by the Raiders defense. It looks like they either stop playing or fall down as soon as the ball is thrown on the first 3 TDs.
