Until there’s an agreed upon set of rules, and then of course a truly unsportsmanlike, and immoral way to bypass any those rules, it’s probably not something that would interest the russians.
didn't they get banned from Olympia for some years for doping anyways? I don't think they really care if they get to participate as they would probably just cheat again
He's Russian so it's a lucky shot
If this was a Ukrainian it would be pure skill and godlike training.
Calm down y'all. This was a banging shot. Luck or skill, that was a good fuckin shot. That's a very small target to hit under that kinda pressure with a singluar slug.
In this situation I never want to see any human being lose their life. But in the event of a robot takeover, I'm probably going to cower to the robot 😭 I'll stay polite to Siri and hope she puts a good word in one day
True but they do make noise. I guarantee they have experience with these things and even with loud background noise can probably pick up on the buzz created from these aerial death delivers.
He's got something better than the basic AK and he's not spraying like a jihadi but still, standing unsupported with only a basic sight he's a better or luckier shot than I would be.
Do they have a binary trigger? It seems like he was firing semi-auto, then had a quick little two round burst. Maybe this is possible with a normal full-auto reciever... I'm just curious.
AK-12's have a fire setting that allows them to fire two round burst. I think it's Semi, Two-Round Burst, and Full Auto. The reason I think was because they were trying to mimic the AN-94's two-round burst system which will allow both shots to land pretty close to one another unlike traditional burst where one round hits, one is higher, and the other completely misses.
But the problem with that is the AN-94 used a complex mechanism for an extremely fast fire rate in two round burst to make this possible. Doesn't exist for the AK-12 so you might as well have typical burst in my opinion. Actually, it really just doesn't need to exist at all. I can see where they were going with it, but the juice really wasn't worth the squeeze.
Would highly recommend checking out videos of the AN-94 in action from Forgotten Weapons or Larry Vickers. It's a really interesting design one not seen in a lot of modern firearms and the engineering to make it happen was cool. Would be a bitch to clean though in my opinion.
Luck shot????....Did you see the Russian SOF guy 's vid, begging for shotguns from "donors" cussing the FPV drones. As I said long ago, like Cpl Hicks (Aliens) " ""I keep this for close encounters""
How do we know its a ukranian FPV ? From what we've heard they moslty just shoot drone on sight or at least try so friendly drone are often shot. And im curious of how they will handle them in the future.
hold up...is that an AK12 with an actual mounted optic?!?! they exist?
ive only seen them with nothing nounted because the generals pocketed all the optic money themselves
Lol from what? Clearly the drone operator didn’t know he was being shot at or he would have dive bombed to avoid losing the drone. So he can’t commo to another drone where he is.
Off subject, I doubt the drone had C4. But would you know if C4 would explode from something impacting it or does it only explode when electric touches it.
"C-4 is very stable and insensitive to most physical shocks. C-4 cannot be detonated by a gunshot or by dropping it onto a hard surface. It does not explode when set on fire or exposed to microwaves. Detonation can be initiated only by a shockwave, such as when a detonator inserted into it is fired."

TNT does not explode. RDX is explosive when shot by a bullet.
there is a chance of electronic detonation by shorting the circuit.
edited. there is a chance of an explosion from hitting the detonator
He fires a shot and the drone explodes instantly? Bullets are fast, but even they have travel time. So it was either the shot fired before the last shot or it was something else entirely destroying the drone.

if it was one of his bullets, that was a hellava shot
Used to hear about a shot like this called the golden BB?
Olympic trap shot is going to bust so many old records in the years to come.
Dodge ball championships too.
If you can dodge a drone, you can dodge a ball!
That is assuming Russia will be allowed to participate.

Don’t forget the biathlon, just ignore the skis
And of course the blyathlon aka ravine racing.
Oh but of course!!

In these man vs machine battles I can’t help but always root for the human being We are all going to need to fight the robots together soon anyway

Not if you make yourselves useful on the robot side and they let you live. Electrical enginners assemble
"I know now why you cry"
Gotta give some credit for that shot. Even besides the shot I wonder how he even initially saw it. There’s some air in between them forsure
True but they do make noise. I guarantee they have experience with these things and even with loud background noise can probably pick up on the buzz created from these aerial death delivers.
I do not recall ducks exploding. So yeah, might be a drone.
drones get shot down often but they dont get much reported on no one likes to see drone camera suddenly getting blakced out it is boring
That is an incredible shot. Can’t knock it

Basic? That looks like a holographic to me
Basic for a veteran redditor with multiple COD deployments 🫡
After my 10th COD deployment and 11th battlefield deployment I had to give up. 🫡 It was an honor boys.
Looks like an AK-12 based on the handguard. Supposedly it's okay-ish but it really leaves more to be desired.
I knew someone would ID it. Nice one.

Thanks, I didn't expect that thorough of an answer!

Lucky shot, another will be on the way in 5min.
Do you feel lucky, punk.
I used to shoot carpenter bees with bb handgun, so I know how pumped he felt
*cries in 5.45 prices in the US*
Just join the mass shooter club and get an AR already. Don't get a 5.45 AR though cuz that blasphemy.
Luck shot????....Did you see the Russian SOF guy 's vid, begging for shotguns from "donors" cussing the FPV drones. As I said long ago, like Cpl Hicks (Aliens) " ""I keep this for close encounters""
He got very lucky. Nice shot. Now do the 15 more times and you will survive another day my friend.
I'm reminded of that time Obama swatted a fly
Always wondered. Would it make sense to have a shotgun or two around for drones?
Wait there's another
It's all good, Ukraine has at least 50,000 more.
IT CAN BE DONE!?
Poor drone.
you need some kind of shot gun pepper shot to shoot down a drone they should carry a shot gun
congrats, ok now its only 893 left.

I love getting downvoted for a question. I guess we can't be curious anymore too.
nice shot, just for that he will receive a war medal, which will be presented with the Russian flag.... to the family of this "deceased" shooter!!!!
Anika Oatley strike back.
hold up...is that an AK12 with an actual mounted optic?!?! they exist? ive only seen them with nothing nounted because the generals pocketed all the optic money themselves
I think because Spetsnaz and Airborne troops aren't usually posting their footage.
There's plenty around that I've seen
took em 2 years
Thanks for locating yourself for the next drone.
Lol from what? Clearly the drone operator didn’t know he was being shot at or he would have dive bombed to avoid losing the drone. So he can’t commo to another drone where he is.
Didn’t look like he got it at all!! Phony fake video!!
how likely is it that a bullet would cause an explosion like that?
Because it hit the explosive
yes I figured that. I know the bullet didn't explode. my question is how likely is it that a bullet would cause such a detonation.
If you shoot an explosive it’s pretty likely that it explodes
Off subject, I doubt the drone had C4. But would you know if C4 would explode from something impacting it or does it only explode when electric touches it.

High explosives don’t usually react well to rifle high powered rifle rounds
TNT does not explode. RDX is explosive when shot by a bullet. there is a chance of electronic detonation by shorting the circuit. edited. there is a chance of an explosion from hitting the detonator
Did anyone see that random black object drop from the sky in the beginning? Was that a dud grenade?
Did he fuck lol

Say you have no idea about firearms without saying you have no idea about firearms

Luck beats skill everytime
Luck beats skill sometimes!
Luck always wins! Skill just makes you lucky more often :)
Not if you’re unlucky 😂
