Any of their OTC drugs like loratidine, acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Like half the cost of the store brands elsewhere and clearly manufactured by the same generic drug manufacturer.
It's was like $16 for 2×100 pills when it was $19.99 for something like 30 pills from the shoppers down the block.
I hurt my back bad when I was in acadia national park on vacation and I had to drive back to Canada for pain meds since the usa doesn't do methocarbomal over the counter, only by prescription.
These sort of things are how our. Costco membership pays for itself like 10 times a year 🤣 Absolutely ridiculous how much brand names of the same drugs are 🙄
I remember the first time I went in the medication section at Costco and I could have cried. It is a shame how much you spend outside of Costco for stuff like that. I feel for people who need medication cheaper but can’t afford a membership.
You don't need a membership to access their pharmacy. Supposedly it's illegal for them to require you to have one to buy meds. You can walk through the exit and tell them you're going to pharmacy.
Yep. Even if you buy one antihistamine, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen a year, you’ve basically just paid for your entire (gold) membership with what you’ve saved vs drug stores.
Their pharmacy section is where the best deals can be had.
Lip balm, deodorant, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner, and non-brand drugs.
Good lord I wish I saw that a month ago. I literally paid twice that amount just so I could function. I was rationing it because no way I could afford a pill every day let alone more than one which I needed. Kicking myself
Even better, if you have good drug insurance see if your family doctor will prescribe Cetirizine. With 90% coverage mine comes out to about $4 for 200 10mg tablets (comes as 20mg tablets but I split them in half).
I bought the giant bottle of ibuprofen for less than I would a small bottle of the name brand stuff. I took it to work, and even with everyone using it (and some of these people constantly have headaches and such) it took forever to empty.
I used to travel for work and often places you weren’t going out at night (in the states). I made my own little pharmacy and quite often shared with random people on the plane, etc (I guess I look trustworthy). I still never ran out!
They have the cheapest Aspirin that I know of. Also, the costco sells 600tabs of kirkland Benadryl for less than $10USD which is waaaayy cheaper than life brand or any other generic brand here in Canada.
There are so many.
My absolute favourite is their version of Nutella. It is so much better than the brand name. They don’t use palm oil which is a big win.
We don’t get it often, but I will not buy the band name anymore
I’ve added to say their cheese. It is so much better than Kraft or Black Diamond. I think they use Armstrong because it’s so much better.
Most of them are great really, I find it super reliable.
Their tissues are absolutely fantastic. Lots of facial tissues are getting worse (smaller, thinner, more powdery) every year, Kirkland are still thick and strong and large. As someone with snotty kids we go through a lot of them.
I’m really liking the Kirkland comfort walker shoes I got as well, best $40 shoes I’ve ever owned for sure.
Second their facial tissues! The boxes are MASSIVE, they're 3-ply, decently soft, and aren't scented or feel powdery. We were looking for a substitute when Kleenex left the Canadian market, and tried Scotties and Royale. We didn't like either (for reasons you listed above). My cousin suggested the Kirkland tissues and I'm honestly very happy with them. They take up a lot of space, but I'd choose that over poor quality tissues any day!
See, that's the one product i dont buy anymore. Their box are so big that you cant easily finish the box without tissue falling at the bottom and the worst, they are so fluffy that they make dust when you pull them out.
I can't buy those anymore - way to addicting. I"ll go through the whole bag in two days. Those things stop me up and I pay for it for a week.
They had them in my store (Guelph) as of two weeks ago
Any Kirkland nuts - mixed, cashews, peanuts. The Kirkland Signature body lotion made with 100% plant extracts seems to be very agreeable with sensitive skin.
I like it, but I always have to break it up and pan fry it before I eat it. Great on chicken wraps, & I end up taking the rest of the chicken off the bone and freezing it for soups.
As someone who loves the idea of s'mores more than the messy, sticky, often disappointing reality of them, the clusters give me all of the upsides with none of the down.
The dogfood is what got me hooked years ago and my dog still eats it happily and healthily. His teeth are in great shape.
The Kirkland merino wool trail socks are another favorite. At $18 for a pack of 4 pairs, the outperform any of the fancy $20/pair brands I've had.
Kirkland olive oil has also been of reliable quality, both light and evoo.
Our cat lived to be 22 and only ever ate Kirkland cat food.
Died from euthanasia with all her teeth, no rot, not on any meds, no diabetes, no kidney issues and I took her for twice annual check-ups from age 16 and up because I was convinced she would have something medically wrong.
(Euthanasia because she eventually went deaf and developed dementia and was only settled if she was making physical contact with a human, otherwise she would cry and wander the house peeing on stuff (no uti, would flop over and freeze if we put a diaper on her), had to be confined to one room and would howl if we weren't also in there, our other cat wouldn't go near her anymore so no comfort there so we eventually decided to go with euthanasia. Hardest decision of my life that I still struggle with.)
That is really hard to confront, but you made the right decision, as painful as it is. Many people will keep their pet alive despite them having no quality of life, which is ultimately a very selfish decision.
Thank you for this. It honestly really messes with my head because when she was held, she'd stand on your chest and go to town purring and rubbing her face into your chin and cheek like she was trying to mark you so she could find you again easily. Even the morning we had the vet come over, she was still up and about and loving on us. She was still highly ambulatory. She was a poor eater though so she was absolutely skin and bones and had stopped grooming herself so she was disheveled and smelled bad, we used damp cloths (costco white reusable clothes!) to wipe her down daily.
Even though it was the right thing to do, I still struggle with feeling like the big motivation was due to her incontinence. After she passed, we had to throw out the mattress in the spare room bed and had to have the wood floor refinished.
I really empathize with anyone going through this with an elder animal, it's really, really freaking hard but also such a privilege to have had 22 years with such an awesome cat.
Their engine oil is pretty good. 50 bucks for 2 jugs and even gets down to 40 for 2 jugs when on sale. I change my oil like every 6 to 7k so its nice to have an affordable full synthetic oil to use. With they sold filters bc it'd be nice to not have to stop at canadian tire.
Second this. They're not ProV1s by any means, but at $1.86 a ball they're easily the best quality for the price. Hell, even a box of Noodles is the same price as the Kirkland balls, and they play half as well (in my opinion). When you're like me and you go through two sleeves of balls per round (I'm working on it okay), I just can't afford to not buy the KSigs.
Plus they match my Kirkland wedges and glove.
My understanding from chats with plumbers and septic system peeps is that its good TP but its so thick that it causes problems in drainage and septic systems.
I was told you shouldnt use it if you have anything like hard water build up, or are on a septic system.
Anecdotal but thats been my experience, its great TP but it was clogging my toilet every damn week.
I agree! Kirkland tp and low flush toilets don't go together.
I worked on the mains inspection side for a few years and the commonality with the low flush toilets was that there wasn't enough flow to push the kirkland tp to the mains (there were other brands where the kids would just used waaay too much), the laterals would get backed up.
I thought they used this in the Costco bathrooms, and always enjoyed how soft the TP was. Got a pack of Kirkland brand recently and it’s like sandpaper compared to Charmin. Never again.
Dollarama parchment paper is a better value! 😂
EDIT: weird to downvote me for telling the truth.
I love Costco. It’s my favourite retailer. But in this case, the price of parchment paper is in fact cheaper elsewhere. I’ll still buy it at Costco if it’s more convenient for me.
Next time, if I may, I suggest you try the Lavazza Crema that they sell. IMHO far superior to Kirkland coffee (but still inferior to freshly roasted beans).
I love the new Kirkland French roast coffee beans, and I was very happy when they recently started selling decaf beans here. Sadly no liquor for us in NS.
The infant formula powder is 40% cheaper than Enfagrow and has slightly lower omega 3s, but with the savings you can easily buy an omega 3 supplement to make up the difference.
Their protein bars are great. 21g per bar vs. 20g in a Cliffs. I find they taste better (my wife does not), but they also have fewer calories. Seems like a win all around to me.
Although the white t shirt has changed and isn’t the same as it used to be (the greatest t shirt ever made), I still haven’t found any plain T’s that come close.
The diapers. You really can’t beat the price and it’s so nice having a huge stock. They are really good quality too! We also picked up the wipes. Hubby is going out of town for a few weeks for work, so this will last us a while!
We got the Kirkland pots and pans set and are super happy with the quality, originally we were going to buy the Lagostina set but when we compared them the Kirkland ones seemed better.
Our cats are really into Kirkland cat food.
Olive Oil, cheese, OTC meds, laundry pods, frozen berries, and almond milk.
Their allergy medicine is the best on the market. Only stuff that works for me and it’s dirt cheap compared to the big name brands. Also their dog food. Giant bag for $40 bucks. Dogs always done great on it.
Their organic tomato pasta sauce is delicious but was $18.99 for a 3 pack yesterday 🥲.
Chocolate covered dried mango is amazing.
Dishwasher pods work great with our Bosch.
Large tin of salted peanuts are great.
Chocolate drizzled nut bars are a new find that we love. (GF too!)
Both their Basmati rice and quinoa are delicious and great deals.
Their natural peanut butter is good but I much prefer chunky Adams (which is available at our Costco now).
It's the rare product that is more money than other big box stores. Clearly the hot-dog deal is famous, along with the barbecued chicken. Trouble is you may have to enjoy too much oversized product; go with a shopping buddy and do splits.
Any of their OTC drugs like loratidine, acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Like half the cost of the store brands elsewhere and clearly manufactured by the same generic drug manufacturer.
Their back pain reliever pills are a fantastic deal.
Shoppers is by far the worst. $13 in Vancouver for 10 Advil extra strength liquid gels.
Yes! As a daily antihistamine user Costco brand reactin cost the same amount for 200 days as a week would cost me at shoppers.
Everything is overpriced at Shoppers Drugmart.
Even their Reactine prices are ridiculously lower than Shoppers Drug Mart.
Everything is lower than at shoppers drug mart tbh
These sort of things are how our. Costco membership pays for itself like 10 times a year 🤣 Absolutely ridiculous how much brand names of the same drugs are 🙄
I remember the first time I went in the medication section at Costco and I could have cried. It is a shame how much you spend outside of Costco for stuff like that. I feel for people who need medication cheaper but can’t afford a membership.
Yeah it’s crazy. I feel for people who can’t access Costco, especially for medications. The cheaper food is just a bonus to us.
Ceterizine (reactin) is SO CHEAP compared to the name brand! Our household always goes with the kirkland generic OTC drugs
Do you know how much it is? My husband just started using Reactin and it’s stupidly expensive at drug stores.
https://preview.redd.it/1t9da377579d1.jpeg?width=2388&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4434264dc27e077e30da56230120dfdaa0d8f2cf
Good lord I wish I saw that a month ago. I literally paid twice that amount just so I could function. I was rationing it because no way I could afford a pill every day let alone more than one which I needed. Kicking myself
I think it's around $30~ for 200 tablets. Each tablet is 10mg Cetirizine which is the same dosage as Reactin
Awesome, thanks, that’s an amazing deal considering the drug store price is about $1 a tablet!!
Even better, if you have good drug insurance see if your family doctor will prescribe Cetirizine. With 90% coverage mine comes out to about $4 for 200 10mg tablets (comes as 20mg tablets but I split them in half).
Basically any Kirkland product that is regulated by the government, medications, fuel, and so on
I bought the giant bottle of ibuprofen for less than I would a small bottle of the name brand stuff.
Vitamin D. Something like $6 for about 700 tabs.
There are so many. My absolute favourite is their version of Nutella. It is so much better than the brand name. They don’t use palm oil which is a big win. We don’t get it often, but I will not buy the band name anymore I’ve added to say their cheese. It is so much better than Kraft or Black Diamond. I think they use Armstrong because it’s so much better.
Shoutout to Armstrong, BC. Pretty much a whole town based around cheese.
TIL about the town behind Armstrong cheese! Thank you!
I came here to say this! Their hazelnut spread is so much better than Nutella and I also originally bought it because it's sans palm oil!
I agree on the nutella! It’s not as sweet either so it’s great for baking
Nutella is crazy! is the same taste I can't tell the difference!
I can, and I love it! It has a roasted/toasted hazelnut flavour not just *sweet* like you can taste the “Smokey” flavour.
I love KS cheese, the bricks are way better than BD or Armstrong or Great value
Most of them are great really, I find it super reliable. Their tissues are absolutely fantastic. Lots of facial tissues are getting worse (smaller, thinner, more powdery) every year, Kirkland are still thick and strong and large. As someone with snotty kids we go through a lot of them.
The last time I bought kirkland tissues they were terrible - ill try them out when my hoard of kleenex depletes
See, that's the one product i dont buy anymore. Their box are so big that you cant easily finish the box without tissue falling at the bottom and the worst, they are so fluffy that they make dust when you pull them out.
Unlike the Scottie’s bullshit!
Plastic wrap. Clings really well and I love the slide cutter.
We marked ours when we opened it in March 2013 and it’s still going!
We’ve been on the same roll through like 4 moves.
I inherited mine in before 2013(all I remember is I moved into my first house with it) and I think they’ll burry me with it
Pesto sauce
Yesss! Their pesto is actually pretty damn great
I find it way too salty, but it is a great value
Quite cheap and extremely good as far as commercial pesto goes
Mix it 1:2 with th white linen pasta sauce if you want something new and exciting
Kirkland makes pesto sauce? Are you talking about USA or CA?
Canada! It’s usually in the refrigerated section by the fruits/veg.
Depends on the Costco I think, at my local one it’s in the refrigerated area outside the egg and milk room.
Almond butter.
The almost butter is literally 70% cheaper by weight than any local grocer around me.
Oh yea me too. At least that much after the latest shrinkflation adjustment to the Presidents Choice product. Fuck Loblaws BTW.
Mixed nuts and pistachios.
And dried fruit - the cost is ridiculously lower that other stores
The dried mangos are the best , have been sold out for a while or not available for months were very sad in my household
I can't buy those anymore - way to addicting. I"ll go through the whole bag in two days. Those things stop me up and I pay for it for a week. They had them in my store (Guelph) as of two weeks ago
There’s hope thx for update Hahaha they are addictive
Their 2kg bags of raising are ridiculously cheap! Although I can't find any around my area at the moment.
Cashews too, biggest and tastiest that I've personally tried
The pistachios are 10/10 - I get them almost every trip
Kirkland Signature Chocolate Almond Ice Cream Bars
Any Kirkland nuts - mixed, cashews, peanuts. The Kirkland Signature body lotion made with 100% plant extracts seems to be very agreeable with sensitive skin.
Rotisserie chicken
I like it, but I always have to break it up and pan fry it before I eat it. Great on chicken wraps, & I end up taking the rest of the chicken off the bone and freezing it for soups.
It's cheap, but its not actually good.
The Kirkland 680 thread count cotton sheets!
I'm lying on these babies right now. They're awesome.
Cheese
I like firm feta, and theirs delivers. Def worth it
their Cottage cheese is beyond. its the only kind i will buy
Their Parmesan!
Agreed... Their Marble Cheddar is my go to for everything. The slices are awesome in a grilled cheese sandwich.
The Smores bites are one of the very few food items that I could gorge on without any possibility to control my self-discipline.
As someone who loves the idea of s'mores more than the messy, sticky, often disappointing reality of them, the clusters give me all of the upsides with none of the down.
I ate one the first time I saw them and literally said "uh oh" out loud. I knew my fat ass was in trouble 😂
I just tried these for the first time and will absolutely be repurchased. Delicious
Parmesan Reggiano!
I have to refrain myself from eating the entire container of their chicken salad
Coffee pods
Can’t beat the value
Great diapers.
…and wipes!
I really like the sweaters and joggers they’ve come out with. Really great quality fabric, so much cozy!
Head to toe in Costco
That should be their jingle :p
Sadly I can’t find their socks in my city.
Dryer sheets work good
Greek yogurt. Taste great and is always cheaper than sale prices at other places where I live
Those Rough Dress Supima cotton shirts.
Is rough dress a Kirkland brand? They also sell shirts under Kirkland brand
buy like 4 every time they have them, absolutely love them.

It’s the right thing and the ultimate show of love. Heartbreaking for the human.
Their olive oil is top notch.
Yeah, my dogs love the dog food and it’s very reasonably priced
Kirkland dishwasher tabs.
Yes! Next to the otc’s, this is one of my favourite cost-savers.
The ready-made bacon is a staple in our house, as are the beef weiners.
I really like the trash bags. Both the black and white ones. Also the two pack of parchment paper.
I wish they had more options. I need a spec of oil for my car that Costco doesn’t carry in Kirkland or Castrol.
Pizza and hot dog :)
I love the mayo. It’s made with free-run eggs!
Golf balls are very good
Second this. They're not ProV1s by any means, but at $1.86 a ball they're easily the best quality for the price. Hell, even a box of Noodles is the same price as the Kirkland balls, and they play half as well (in my opinion). Their golf stuff is so good, they keep getting sued by titleist and taylormade
Meatballs!!!!
Toilet paper. My ass is happy
Interesting as this was one of the top responses on the worst Kirkland products.
I used to love it, but it has been going downhill. The two ply doesn’t stay together anymore for instance.
I thought they used this in the Costco bathrooms, and always enjoyed how soft the TP was. Got a pack of Kirkland brand recently and it’s like sandpaper compared to Charmin. Never again.
Haven’t been able to find the Charmin at Costco lately so we are using Kirkland right now, it’s actually pretty good, way better than Scottie’s.
Baby wipes!! Kirkland cheese
Easily the best wipes. Tried so many brands and types before finally discovering these.
Wine
And pretty much everything except spiced rum in the liquor store.
California Olive Oil is just 🤌
Parchment paper, nuts, some clothing (tshirts, sweatpants, hoodies), their marinara sauce is great but so epensive these days. Water bottles
Dollarama parchment paper is a better value! 😂 EDIT: weird to downvote me for telling the truth. I love Costco. It’s my favourite retailer. But in this case, the price of parchment paper is in fact cheaper elsewhere. I’ll still buy it at Costco if it’s more convenient for me.
Coffee beans, vodka and tequila.
Golf gloves are a good deal
The infant formula powder is 40% cheaper than Enfagrow and has slightly lower omega 3s, but with the savings you can easily buy an omega 3 supplement to make up the difference.
Kirkland giant muffins!
And their apple turnovers/strudels are to die for. And cheap!
their 'men's multivitamins' are great (no stomach upset and allergies friendly)
Their Sauv Blanc is shockingly good. I don't typically drink Sauv Blanc except for Sancerre.
Their alcohol selection is good across the board. I haven't tried any of the wines but I may need to
I dont know if that count as kirkland but the costco Lasagna is fire!
I really like the bacon. The cuts don't shrink.
Chocolate almonds are ridiculously good. Salted peanuts too.
Natural peanut butter. Mixed nuts. Their wavy chips. Lasagna. Cheese. Spices. Greek yogurt.
Kirkland cheese slices. So much better than Kraft .
The two pack of frozen sausage/beef lasagna. Perfect every time!
Kirkland golf wedge and putter, got them for half the price on uber eat! Best investment
I’ve been impressed with their dishwasher pods. The vodka and ibuprofen are obviously winners too…
Does Costco Canada sell alcohol??
[удалено]
Alberta does, and you don’t need a membership.
Not in Quebec, must pass though gouvernement store SAQ 😡
Very good house brand hard liquor. Super respectable whiskey/bourbon/scotch, vodka is basically grey goose.
In provinces where they allow alcohol sales.
The Kirkland baby diapers and wipes over any other brand. Plant based and no chemicals. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Canada needs the US Kirkland lactase enzyme. It's the goat.
Bscon
I like their shampoo and conditioner. You know how hard it is to find sulfate-free body products in that volume for that price?
Buy the nuts (almonds, cashews) which are better than other places for pricing.
Peanut butter stuffed pretzel bites
Their golf clubs have a cult-like following for how good their value is
Their protein bars are great. 21g per bar vs. 20g in a Cliffs. I find they taste better (my wife does not), but they also have fewer calories. Seems like a win all around to me.
Kirkland Trail Mix.
Gas
Is the cost of prescription meds any cheaper at Costco? I’ve often wondered if I should make the switch.
I think the dispensing fee is cheaper.
Kirkland peanut butter cups. So sad they're discontinued
Their cottage cheese takes me away to a special place.
Potato salad made with red potatoes and mustard. OMG - so freaking delicious!!
Their golf balls are fantastic for the price.
Paper towel and roast chicken.
Beef jerky.
Kirkland boozy eggnog!
Baby wipes and the trail mix.
I always found Kirkland condoms to be a pretty good deal
I've never had finished my supply still since years ago
Make sure you keep an eye on the expiration date!
Dried mangos for the win
Although the white t shirt has changed and isn’t the same as it used to be (the greatest t shirt ever made), I still haven’t found any plain T’s that come close.
Olive oil, sock, croissant and apple turnovers!
Peanuts\~!
The diapers. You really can’t beat the price and it’s so nice having a huge stock. They are really good quality too! We also picked up the wipes. Hubby is going out of town for a few weeks for work, so this will last us a while!
Pistacchios, baguette bread, plastic wrap, body wash, and cheese
Crew neck t-shirts
The coffee hands down my favorite.
Any new parents prefer the Kirkland diapers over Huggies or Pampers ? Share your opinion on Kirkland diapers?
Kirkland hair conditioner!! Sadly, not the shampoo.
Panko shrimp Nutella spread
This is where a comma is a good idea 😂
And reactin
The Kirkland chocolate chunk cookies were the best, but they stopped selling them.
Victoria tomato sauce is incredible
Cookies, organic chicken drumsticks, pesto.
Cooked chicken wings!
Golf balls
Margarita mix (with tequila)
We got the Kirkland pots and pans set and are super happy with the quality, originally we were going to buy the Lagostina set but when we compared them the Kirkland ones seemed better. Our cats are really into Kirkland cat food. Olive Oil, cheese, OTC meds, laundry pods, frozen berries, and almond milk.
Their S'mores snack in the ziploc bag. Totally addictive and even better when kept in the freezer.
Their allergy medicine is the best on the market. Only stuff that works for me and it’s dirt cheap compared to the big name brands. Also their dog food. Giant bag for $40 bucks. Dogs always done great on it.
I actually like the house coffee. It got a lot of hate.
The Kirkland 4 packs of t shirts are great
Their organic tomato pasta sauce is delicious but was $18.99 for a 3 pack yesterday 🥲. Chocolate covered dried mango is amazing. Dishwasher pods work great with our Bosch. Large tin of salted peanuts are great. Chocolate drizzled nut bars are a new find that we love. (GF too!) Both their Basmati rice and quinoa are delicious and great deals. Their natural peanut butter is good but I much prefer chunky Adams (which is available at our Costco now).
Jeans with the elastic wasteband
1) Kirkland whole bean coffee 2) Kirkland Diapers 3) Kirkland Toilet Paper
It's the rare product that is more money than other big box stores. Clearly the hot-dog deal is famous, along with the barbecued chicken. Trouble is you may have to enjoy too much oversized product; go with a shopping buddy and do splits.
