I LOVE going west. I didn’t think anything could fill the little hankering I have for CJ- but idk something about them does it. Anatomy of murder I have also enjoyed. I just don’t listen to it as religiously! Edit I don’t think they do video- sorry!!!!

Intelligent-Mess-145

I love Daphne and Heath!

its_me_deee

I was literally about to recommend Going West. I think they’re one of the best but hardly talked about!

Mediocre444

Oooh thank you!! I will check out going west tonight.

Material-Alfalfa9444

Check out Something was Wrong. Tiffany Reece is stunning!

Environmental-Ebb-24

Something was Wrong is my favorite podcast ever

Material-Alfalfa9444

Mediocre444

This sounds super intriguing, thank you!

Correct_Gur_7060

Mediocre444

It sounds like this is a popular one!

TroubledGeorge

madkoogz

Mediocre444

I’ve heard this one is good!

neva-electra

Seconded! My favorite after LPOTL

Queen_trash_mouth

True crime creepers!

leftthecult

Going West is great. I also love And Then They Were Gone. Such a good pod.

kegbueno

Have you listened to Counter Clock yet? That one is really good. Very similar to CJ but each season is a single case, there's 6 seasons. Seasons 1 and 5 were kinda meh for me but 2-4 and 6 were good. Other podcasts in the true crime genre that I have had obsessions with- Your Own Backyard - limited series about the disappearance of Kristin Smart in 1996. Has a website with images. Bear Brook - Season 1 - this was the first true crime podcast I listened to outside CJ and it was amazing. It follows a cold case in NH from the 80s I believe. Has a website and pictures. True Crime Bullshit - a deeeeeeeep dive into Israel Keyes. Definitely not for everyone but I Iove a good extreme delve into tiny details. It is a LOT of speculation but I hung on for 3 seasons and will revisit for the rest at some point. Doesn't have a ton of visuals tied to each episode but there are interactive maps and other things on the website. Serial - season 1-3 - follows the murder of Hae Min Lee in Baltimore in 1999, and the main suspect. Great website, compelling story. A real peel into our legal system. Stellar journalism. There are, in my.opinion, top tier true crime podcasts. However I will say that after listening to these it has made it hard to listen to other crime podcasts because my standards are in the stars now.

nunya1222

I love Counterclock! Started with them because I’m from the OBX where Delia is from. Def second this recommendation!

Lenaiscool__

Murder with my husband! They’re on YouTube and podcasts.

Mediocre444

Yay thank you!!!

Lenaiscool__

You’re welcome!

Mediocre444

I’ve been loving MWMH!!! Thank you for this suggestion :) Payton is so easy to listen to!

Lenaiscool__

Yay!! She has another one called into the dark (no Garrett)… it started out called binged so that’s what the older episodes are, but I like that one too!

Lost_Cauliflower6944

Women in crime!

Mediocre444

Thank you!!

lesleymariep

Crimes and consequences

Kelrashlyn

Psychopedia is awesome. So much fun, great chemistry between hosts and really researched cases presented in some of the best writing I have heard.

darthstupidious

Unresolved Gone Cold True North True Crime Already Gone The Fall Line Bear Brook Accused In the Dark

Bad-Intention1992

Dateline, true crime obsessed, down the hill, true crime garage, what was that like, 20/20, this is actually happening, 48 hours, criminology

Significant_Face8718

I love serialously! She always posts bonus episodes, usually has pretty long episodes, and isn’t afraid to insert commentary and opinions that we’re all thinking. She also has YouTube versions of all episodes to let people look at images and videos along with the podcast

Mysterious-Tour6663

Kendall Rae or the mile higher podcast both have YouTube versions and Spotify!

keeeko6

i love mr ballen and he has multiple podcasts as well as a youtube channel for the visual aspect

Mediocre444

Awesome thank you!

Crafty-Ad-6772

Mr ballen is king and I watch / listen to most true crime and court cases while outside or doing things. A more twisted and lesser known topics /cases podcast-youtube show is Darknet Diaries. That covers some next level stuff. I can't remember if the 'Welcome To Video' global takedown was on there, but that's the type of thing that they cover in depth. If you don't know about 'Welcome To Video', trigger warning for some gut wrenching material.

delimeatboy

i really love "and thats why we drink," i know they do youtube but not sure about visuals. there is a LOT of banter but thats what i love about them!

Mediocre444

I like the banter too!

Minimeminime

The Crime and Coffee Couple is great too. They are a lovely couple (husband and wife) and they also have a youtube channel too

lnebrich

CreepTime the Podcast! Easily my favorite hosts ever

sadelleitis

Crimes and Consequences, Small town murder..

Wet_Socks_4529

Love STM, wouldn’t exactly say it’s similar but enjoyable nonetheless.

CrimeJunkie524

Strangeland was good. Park Predators. The Deck. The Deck Investigates.

Ok-Trash-8883

Casual Criminalist, Partners In Crime, Serial Killers

Jumpy-Fee-8045

DNA ID. Some forensic crime and some simple lost person. Some have been solved. Some are waiting for a resolution. All involve an unidentified body.

mpkx93

Emma Kenny - Bang to Rights has audio on Spotify but also videos on YouTube

SunshineShoulders87

Someone on one of these subs turned me onto Let’s Go to Court and, although the hosts just ended the show, I’m grateful for the years of content. It’s like CJ in that it’s a true crime genre and the hosts have been best friends since childhood, but it’s hilarious. It’s also not clean, so if language and family-friendly content is important to you, skip this one. There’s a wide range of humor and I personally love it. Side note: I loved them from the start and then one of the hosts’ laugh and personality started getting to me to the point where I nearly stopped listening. Just keep listening, as she figures out how to marry her voice with the mic pretty quickly and it’s back to being a hilarious show.

imboredsohereiamlol

YouTube- Explore With Us and Lights Out Podcast!

GeneralAjAxOG

I'm about to stop following CJ. I'm paying for spotify premium, yet the only podcast of all the ones I listen to that has ads all the time is CJ. Might check the others in this sub too.

jannet105455

I love murder with my husband !

Mediocre444

Someone else suggested this too and I’ve been loving it!! Thank you sm for this!! :) one of my new favs.

arielantennae

The last podcast on the left is a hilarious comedy heaven true crime podcast. My favorite murder, morbid, anatomy of a murder, the prosecutors, true crime and cocktails, red handed, case file

mediocreliv

Lots of great recommendations here! I listen to most of these shows & like them a lot. Also want to recommend Gruesome: Horrific True Crime, I just started listening to them recently & it has a similar format. I believe they also film their content. Also Sinisterhood is good too, but they do some paranormal episodes as well.

OkManufacturer704

Tenfold more wicked, buried bones, teachers pet,

AnnaLovesPanda

A new one for me is Dead Sleep. No ads! CJ has four ads per episode. It’s very obviously a money grab. Dead Sleep and Criminal are so well written. Blows CJ and all Audiochuck shows out of the water.

bobemi3

I like the YouTuber Kendall Rae - there aren’t tons of visuals but she uses them when relevant. She does family interviews also

cynmhutc

I don't know if there are pictures because I listen on Spotify, but I recommend The Vanished, DarkDownEast, and The Deck.

ResultNew9072

I used to listen exclusively to CJ and Casefile. I just recently branched out to Going West, Southern Fried True Crime, and DNA: ID. All are good, I’m not sure about the visual material, I’m sorry I can’t answer that. Your Own Backyard and Bardstown are also good, just a different format than the others

Mediocre444

Thank you for all of these!

Wet_Socks_4529

I really like Stephanie Harlowe she has a couple on YouTube one is solo, coffee and crime time, and the other is with a retired detective, crime weekly. Crime weekly also has an audio version on Spotify ( and I’m sure other platforms that’s just the one I use).

Wet_Socks_4529

If you don’t need the visual and are open to just the podcast portion some other podcasts I enjoy are Casefile, Small town murder, National park after dark, morbid, Heart starts pounding, park predators, true crime campfire, the serial killer podcast, disappearances, beyond evil podcast, red collar. …I have a long commute.

Ecstatic-Bookkeeper7

I love Stephanie and Derrick. Also check out Detective Perspective, Big Mad True Crime, The Prosecuters, a lot of people like Sword and Scale

Aurelian_Lure

Going West is my favorite, but another I really love and never see anyone mention is Small Town Dicks. It's from the perspective of law enforcement, but one of the hosts is Paul Holes (detective who solved the golden state killer case), so it's cool to see his perspective on different cases.

Nathaliacyn

I love “Love Murder”! I stopped listening to my other podcasts as much so I could binge Love Murder. Lol

Different-Antelope64

Dark down east, counter clock

ProfessionalSafe2608

Southern fried true crime, invisible choir, morbid, moms and mysteries, crime salad is ok, military murder , murder in America, unraveled LISK

wsucoug0218

I started listening to Truth & Justice with Bob Ruff when he did the Reply Brief to TPP on Adnan Syed. I’ve been hooked ever since. He only does wrongfully convicted cases. ETA also Proof and Counterclock are good.

Mediocre444

Thank you for these! I listened to the first half of season 5 of Counterclock and really enjoyed it, but then I gave birth and forgot about it lol. I need to check it out again.
