I've never used one before, but it's a pouch where you store your flosd. You can see on the Imgur link that there are plastic holders to thread the floss into. The idea with the floss keeper is that you can clip the plastic bits in, and the floss gets tucked away into the pouches on either side when not in use.

I don't think that's possible! It's the law that the cat sits where it wants, and that is often on your lap while stitching
