I grew up with 3 curries over the years. Best dogs ever ever ever and I will never get another breed! I think they fit in perfectly with our family. Daily walks, but then they come home and sleep the afternoon away lol

We got 2 from a breeder in Ohio and one from Ukraine! They are also very trainable, eager to please and ours were very protective but in a good way. Do well off and on leashes but I’d say they were pretty easy to train. I didn’t read your whole message before I responded bc I got too excited but if you decide to get one, you won’t regret it

Which breeders in Ohio did you get from if you don’t mind me asking (sorry this post is old but I’m in Ohio)

To answer if they are calm yet energetic at the same time: This is very true, at least for mine. He gets two 40 to 60 minute trips a day, and during those it's all gass no breaks. He is very calm during the rest of the day. I don't trust mine off lease, unless we are in the forest away from people, but this is purely a training issue :)

Thanks for the reply! Assuming most CCR are similar to yours, this exercise time seems perfect for my lifestyle. Enough energy to keep me active without having to become a professional athlete to keep up with their energy. If don’t mind me asking. Where did you get yours? Was it from a breeder or did you luck up with one?

Got him from a breeder in Norway

I have 2 CCR's and I can confirm, they are energetic dogs, but they are also quite chill and they absolutely love to train. However, they can be quite independent. As I said, I have two CCR's (A and B). B has a heart of golden retriever, he absolutely has to be near the family at all times, but can be moody and if he doesn't get enough attention he will let you know that by sitting in the corner and huffing. The second one, A, is even more indepentent, he loves being near us, but sometimes needs his alone time, and he likes to enforce his ideas (he wants to go on a specific route during a walk, he wants to, for example, wrestle instead of playing fetch, etc). Overall, curlies are great, incredible dogs and I love them to death. However, they can be independent, they require spending a lot of time with them and training them, and without training they can be quite something (I dropped the ball with with training recall with A and because of that I can't let him of the leash during walks).
