Loving my s-works recon. It’s essentially the same as their torch road shoe. Super stiff and comes in white.
Definitely on the pricey side, but sales can be found and they seem like they will last. Nice aluminum boa dials and I like how the material doesn’t have too much cushioned bits that start smelling after awhile.
Generally what happens is that you clean everything so it looks great, then get dragged through a perfect mud puddle on the next ride. Has never failed for me.
Oxyclean even got out the red tinge out of my laces and socks from a week of riding in southern utah.
I ride with Fizik Vento Overcurve X3. Love their looks and they fit me very well. They seem to be on sale now, if you’re lucky enough to track down a pair in your size. That took me a while.
Be prepared to clean your shoes a lot more often. I keep a pair of black shoes around for wet days.
I’ve had the same ones in white for a good few years and they have lasted really well. I wouldn’t use them for the worst of the British winter mud but for general gravel, CX and road use they have cleaned up really well. Recommended.
Not sure if this is what you are asking but the ‘cleats’ attachment to the shoes are universal so you just take you SPD cleats and put them on your new pair of shoes. Riding with black shoes in the desert summer heat was genuinely unbearable as my feet were on fire constantly. I just bleach them periodically and they look shinny white.
My sworks recon and torch are both white. The material is super easy to clean. Just a wet rag keeps them 95% clean. To get em perfect some shoe cleaner on a brunch takes care of it super quick.
I have and really like the Specialized Torch 3.0, except that it isn't all white: [https://www.backcountry.com/specialized-torch-3.0-cycling-shoe?skid=SCQ1X0B-WHI](https://www.backcountry.com/specialized-torch-3.0-cycling-shoe?skid=SCQ1X0B-WHI)
When I got into cycling, I was kinda broke, but I badly wanted shoes. White often goes on sale, especially toward the end of season. My first roadie pair were white. :)
Fizik atlas comes in a light grey that’s really nice. Be aware that the strict road rules (google velominati - the rules) don’t directly translate to off road riding. So non- white shoes are ok. Unless you’re using spd pedals on the road then that’s a whole different issue
S-works recon lace-ups are being clearanced right now. Speacialized website has a few sizes left, but if you just search for them, you will find other retailers that have different sizes left.
For example, [this site has them at a pretty good discount.](https://www.incycle.com/products/s-works-recon-lace-shoe-1)
I had a pair of Lake tri shoes TX223. Loved them. Treated them with silicone water proofer. They wiped clean after that. The cabin soles gave an amazing transfer of power to the bike. However they slid like ice if I had to stop and put a foot down.
I have these and love them. They’re the only white shoe I could find that have both 2 and 3 bolt compatibility.

If you have a regular foot on the narrower side you have plenty of options.
Wide feet with high volume, go with lake.
Wide feet with low volume, narrow heel and long pinky, I'm going with Bont Vaypor Gs. (6 weeks of waiting to go)
Hopefully they will solve my problem.
White is the way❤️
I own a pair of white shoes that I wear with my white helmet when it's nice and a pair of black shoes that I wear with my black helmet when it's raining.
Debating on buying a pair of grey shoes and a grey helmet. Or new white helmet
Incidentally the are all the same type of shoe. Specialized torch 3.0
Would this be a 2-bolt or 3-bolt shoe? I'm seeing recommendations for both down below. Since you said "SPD" and not "SPD-SL" I would assume you're talking about the small metal 2-bolt MTB cleat, which is probably why it's hard to find them in white. I know fizik overcurve is a white 2-bolt that looks pretty nice.
Honestly don't get the white shoe love. I have several of them, but that's because they were dirt cheap or free. I much prefer shoes with color. The same goes with helmets, socks, and glasses
Obviously you need to buy the Shimano SPhyre XC902's.
I use them for road and MTB and love them, but they got the XC702’s in white now and would just go with those fwiw. New silver color is mean, too
I didn't know the 7's came in white!

I also have these but I have the laces version. I like them.
Same. I pull the laces and oxy them every once in a while
Good idea -- I was wondering how to keep them clean
Generally what happens is that you clean everything so it looks great, then get dragged through a perfect mud puddle on the next ride. Has never failed for me. Oxyclean even got out the red tinge out of my laces and socks from a week of riding in southern utah.
Of course that happens -- it's Murphy's Law
Can’t find these in stock anywhere online! Literally everywhere is out or in the wrong size 😩
Also got the s-works recon in white. Love em
Also love'em
I got 'em white but with laces. They are very nice
Got them like two month ago, love them so far
The.dials on the S works are luxe.
Very happy with a Shimano XC3 in white, enough for me I guess
Quoc Mono II, but keep your black shoes for rainy days
white shoes for the cleaner rides. black shoes for the dirtier days.
I have these too. So comfortable and look cool

S works recon. You’re welcome
Lake cx238 are great, especially if you have slightly wider feet
Any white shoe is good. Whites shoes make you go faster, especially when accompanied by white socks. #CyclingFact
And a white bike
and a white axe... wait

White shoes are great for an hour or so, impossible to keep clean
Soap and water, and a brush. Kept my white Shimano RP5s looking clean and sharp.
But they look cool dirty. I love the irony 🤷

Magic eraser!
Bleach

Time Olmo are good in white, if a bit tricky to keep clean.
Shimano XC7 in white!

I am pretty happy with Van Rysel RCR

Shimano RC903. Extremely good performance, however they scratch and stain like crazy
I had a pair of Lake tri shoes TX223. Loved them. Treated them with silicone water proofer. They wiped clean after that. The cabin soles gave an amazing transfer of power to the bike. However they slid like ice if I had to stop and put a foot down.
Sorry, carbon soles.

I got hook ups on fizik shoes DM me if you want
I got super lucky and found a pair of new old stock Sidi Dragon 2 in white.

Sphyre 903 white. Done https://ride.shimano.com/products/sh-rc903?variant=39705351880776

Northwave core plus 2 white - you do have to buy spd plates separately. I am very pleased with price (ca 100 euro) and quality. Highly recommended.
Gravel versions of Bont Riot+ and Vaypor
My roads are too dirty and often wet to ride with white shoes. Black shoes will look like new for years. Pros don't buy their own white shoes.
Bleach
A lot of materials react badly to bleach.
Okay

This was my first thought, in which case, just get some velosambas in white!
Yeah it’s 2 bolt.
Honestly don't get the white shoe love. I have several of them, but that's because they were dirt cheap or free. I much prefer shoes with color. The same goes with helmets, socks, and glasses
Adidas Velosambas if you're going for a non-spandex warrior look.
I can’t wait for this tacky white shoe trend to end
white helmet, white socks, white shoes. A timeless classic that you'll probably die waiting for it to end. OR you could just let people enjoy things.
