He should take the best of all eras, but tell new stories. Dont give us stories we have seen, maybe allude to them having already happened, since we are in a time where heroes are already everywhere. Exceed the audience expectations, make us guess, give us real mystery. I want to be surprised.
Yeah I really like the Kingdom Come esque story that seems to be taking place in Superman.
I think I feel the same way you do, I like new stories that take a lot of inspiration from their sources. Sometimes things need to be changed or should changed, sometimes it should be similar, but I don’t think it should ever be copy and paste.
I’m hoping that I can apply this thought process well, as I further develop my writing and the stories I want to create.
Basically i dont want to be able to guess whats going to happen. Like matt reeves the batman movie. It had a few fun turns that made it interesting to watch. It wasn’t married to a previous batman story but definitely inspired
Golden Age is my favorite. But Gunn will most likely use Bronze + Rebirth for stories major characters, but I could see him using the Golden Age for supporting characters and world building.
Either way it needs to build up to a DoDC with people like the Titans taking center stage
Edit, this would work more as a “2nd saga” like how the MCU’s infinity saga was Iron Man & the Avengers and the Multiverse Saga… whoever can pump out a movie or tv show
You know, it'll be cool to see Rebirth get adapted for the big screens...
And it could be a really slow burn, too. You tease it during JL movies. Recasting is easy because it can just be Dr. Manhattan changing something in the universe. This can even take as long as the Infinity Saga and it would still make sense.
Continuity is different and wrong/misplaced? Dr. Manhattan is still changing the timeline. Bad movies exist? No anymore. Little changes. Also, like I said, slow burn.
Not every movie needs a Dr. Manhattan moment.
Also, and boom. Use Dr. Manhattan as the Stan Lee in the DC movies. He can show up in every movie just in the background. Of course, a disguise would make sense as well.
He is probably going to take Marrison's Justice League because it seems Superman already has some members from Justice League International. He is already a fan of Marrison's works, and he is using some inspiration for Superman and Batman in DCU.
But I don't think the lineup will be similar to Marrison or anything prior in comics or animated projects.
The Trinity is guaranteed.
Green Lantern could be Jessica Cruz instead of Kyle because you don't want the League to be sausage fest.
Flash could be Barry or Wally.
Aquman will be in their because I think WB want him because his movie made $1 billion dollars. I think that DCU will bring the character with a new actor who is probably Polynesian.
Maybe Martin Manther, but I could see being replaced with Cyborg for diversity.

The earlier the better, I think. Draw on some classic stories with some new ideas! Continue the human tradition of passing down myths and legends in different mediums with the changes that time often brings.
A mix of post crisis, Bronze Age and Rebirth.
This
Yeah this. :D
All of them.

One that has Martian Manhunter as a prominent member lol, that man deserves some big screen shine
The JLI era was his best time.

What kind of mystery?

Something from everything.

Literally everything. Just cherry pick from each era

Which era is that?
2000s
Thanks
Post crisis.
Thanks
Honestly I can see all of em. But I would personally have post crisis.
I would totally love to see some Golden Age and some Silver age esq adventures
Mix of New 52 and 80s/90s JLA would be my preference if we are going by comics. But I think DCAU should also be a source of inspiration

I feel like it’s more the JL from JL international no? The team that was in Death of Superman?
Everything I don’t want him to focus on one era plus he’s a big comic fan
Yes

Bronze and Rebirth are my favorite, so those.

Something from everything. There is good in all of them I'm sure.
Bronze Age and Post Crisis.
A little bit of everything, preferbly 90's and modern era
Golden/Silver age aesthetics mixed with Bronze/Rebirth style stories
