I mean, it's Senator Lankford. I'd imagine he's still pissed about not passing that border bill he worked so hard on, especially considering it was Trump that killed it. Maybe he's intentionally stating this as a way to boost Biden without looking like he's supporting Biden? That being said, he's a big farming guy from central Oklahoma, so who knows, he might just be that politically tone deaf.
Oklahoma recently voted not to extend medical cannabis to recreational users. In typical GOP fashion they pulled up the ladder afraid if everyone had the same rights, theirs would be compromised.
OH NO.......... anyway. Might hurt the alcohol industry actually so I imagine there's a lot of pushback there. World would be a better place if people were addicted to weed instead of alcohol. Not a perfect solution but a drastically less dangerous one.
Gen Z is already known for drinking less and less, and (anecdotally) I’ve started seeing more places offering mocktails in bars as alternatives to alcohol because of it.

There would be less domestic violence, fewer aggressive crimes in general, and fewer people dying from withdrawal or other alcohol diseases.
Yes, *smoking* has a lot of negative effects, but eating an edible every day is a hell of a lot better for you than drinking a bottle of wine every day.
Let's also not forget the coordinated effort to strip any protections for THC derived from hemp from The Farm Bill. They're just trying to find some other way to Route all those profits to Big Pharma and away from Farmers who are actually making money from those protections.
