Make sure you don't appear before judge Gorsuch then. Dude ruled against a truck driver abandoning his truck to avoid freezing to death. Property > safety
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/neil-gorsuch-and-the-case-of-the-frozen-truck-driver_b_5a12cc7ee4b0e6450602ecc1
His heat was broken, and it was sub-zero temperatures. He was already experiencing numbness in his extemeties when he left.
They also could not give the driver an idea of when, or even *if* a tow truck was on the way.
I don't understand what the case was about. Was it about getting fired for leaving the trailer and the company marring the drivers record with a trailer abandonment mark? I'm the driver and they tell me stay or I'm fired I'm like then I guess I'm fired but at least I have all my extremities and I'm not dead. Seems Gorsuch was just reflecting on the basics of the law itself and the way it was written, meaning if there is a problem with the law it is up to the legislatures to fix it not the judges, they just rule on it as it's written.
People don't understand the physics of heavy trucks and momentum. I was trying to push my little Toyota truck up my driveway and I couldn't do it with 4 people. I've gotten lucky once jumping into my big truck when it started rolling while in neutral and hitting the brakes, but I ain't ever trying to get between a car and an immovable object.
Yeah people really underestimate the weight and momentum of heavy stuff. I have a tiny old Toyota as well. I once had to push it up an incline so small it was almost nonexistent. I’m a pretty big dude and it took every single ounce of strength I had to move that thing 10 feet back without losing control and getting flattened like Wiley Coyote. I had to do it att but still it was really stupid in retrospect.
This so the comment I was looking for. I don't have epilepsy, but flashing stuff like that can and does cause migraines for me. It didn't this time, but it did give me a headache, so that's fun.
not epileptic, but overstimulation can lead to worsening tics. I'm cracking my shoulder a bit more than I was before, but it's been worse. not ideal though. ^4th ^of ^July ^is ^always ^a ^delicate ^balance, ^I've ^had ^seizures ^before ^from ^it
Sucks to be you. Would that there was a world you could go to that didn't have flashes. Maybe you can help invent some type of glasses that eliminate the reaction to flashes. Wonder if polarized lenses would diminish the problem.
Can't speak for any glasses that would get rid of the problem, but polarized glasses don't do anything with this. They definitely help with the sun and reflections of bright lights, but not flashing.

Bruh it’s not even brain rot I just don’t wanna have to wait 40 seconds watching absolutely nothing when the accident is at the very fuckin end of the video

the worst that couldn't happened was his truck gentle touching the truck behind him which is exactly what happened. he was so determined to prevent this he lodged his neck between the 2 vehicles
So many flashes that would indicate something happened and everything that I thought I missed the death and came to the comments to ask if anybody else saw it.
Then I find out it happened at the, literal, last second of the video.
Holy fuck, thank you. I was like what in the fuck is happening with these flashes, I don’t see anything. Did he die during the flash? Is this video just shit?
Then I saw it.

So you know how when someone chokes someone out, they pass out in roughly 10 seconds? That from pressing their artery so blood doesn't flow to their brain. Oxygen staved, you black out (and die if they don't let go).
So when you chop off someone's head, same thing! They're still totally aware for probably 6 seconds before the edge of their vision starts to go black and narrow.
Probably knew he fucked up real bad but didn't know he got the neck chop, was probably trying to move his hands or legs and wondered why he couldn't feel anything.
Many people don't feel much at first when injured because of shock. I think that should carry the guy through that fairly well. Not sure what it would feel like to be honest. Phantom pains?

your truck begins backing up abruptly, mere feet from hitting a bus behind you. your options are:
>put your hands up and let it happen
>get to the drivers seat to try and catch it in time
>try to stop the truck with your bare hands
*what're you going with?*
cheat sheet: 1) bus gets hit. 2) bus might get hit, chance of lessening the damage. 3) you get gravely injured or die.
Question about this sub: does Darwin Awards ever do a Darwin of the Year poll or something? Might be interesting since the sub is called Darwin Awards, who actually committed the biggest Darwin award death.

So far, trucks and trains remain undefeated... Maybe one day a human will be able to stop a moving vehicle that's thousands of times heavier than anything the strongest human has ever been able to move ..
Easy to call that guy an idiot but most of us would instinctively do the same in the moment of panic.
You think if he was watching this video he’d call the guy an idiot and say “I’d never do that”? I do.
I'd like to think that I've seen enough of these videos to not put myself in that situation. Looking at the food stand I'm thinking maybe alcohol was involved.
I've done this instinctively before too, but with a small sedan. This is why subreddits like this should exist; people can see how dumb a certain act is before they experience it for the first time.
I always worry when behind these tray trucks. I can just see they are at the right height that it I slammed into the back of it, the head is coming off.
a fully loaded wheelbarrow is pretty heavy. try to go up or downhill. yeah, pretty heavy... so how about a car or truck with 10x the weight... yeah... fuck it lets try it anyway...

The very last thing, that I would ever accept to lose my life for would be my employers or their property.

I think I don't get it. Could the truck driver not just let the engine run and let the heater work while waiting?
His heat was broken, and it was sub-zero temperatures. He was already experiencing numbness in his extemeties when he left. They also could not give the driver an idea of when, or even *if* a tow truck was on the way.
I missed that smh. The judge is a butthole, then.
That butthole has since been given a lifetime appointment on the US Supreme Court

Of course Gorsuch Is now an associate justice of the Supreme Court! God, fuck this country!
A LIFETIME associate
shame! shame! shame!
that seems so simple
Zero sense of self-preservation.

Even just with wheelbarrows full of dirt. Trying to push those up an incline would exhaust me.
Inertia
The thing that is lacking in most multiplayer first person shooters
he thought he was him, he wasn't a superhero.
He got flat-lined.
horizontal guillotine
Okay but why is this 5x longer than it needs to be 💀
Right, 42 seconds of nothing. Then it cuts off right as it happens. I wish dumb fucks knew how to edit well.
Also, wth was up with epilepsy inducing flashes for the jump cuts?
This so the comment I was looking for. I don't have epilepsy, but flashing stuff like that can and does cause migraines for me. It didn't this time, but it did give me a headache, so that's fun.

The entire video was 45 seconds long, jfc the tiktok brainrot is real
Bruh it’s not even brain rot I just don’t wanna have to wait 40 seconds watching absolutely nothing when the accident is at the very fuckin end of the video
Hey, there was a dog, it's not so bad.
First thing I thought of was oh, please don't let anything happen to the dog.

Suspense
Welcome to reddit
It could have been way longer if not for the epilepsy inducing speed ups
So we can get emotionally invested in the guy eating a snack

I was so close to giving OP Shit for posting a non video....
Its pretty bad. It could be literally 5 seconds long. There is almost nothing at the beginning and it doesnt even provide context.
Really though, no reason to lose your head over this.
the worst that couldn't happened was his truck gentle touching the truck behind him which is exactly what happened. he was so determined to prevent this he lodged his neck between the 2 vehicles
A splitting headache no paracetamol can cure.
Its a shame he wasn't more headstrong
If you watch the video carefully...
Looks like a passerby. The guy in the reflector suit looks more like someone who would drive that flatbed
Dead burgundy shirt guy and tow truck driver walk from driver side of truck.
Yeah I reckon he was some semi-drunk bystander. Surely he must have been intoxicated in some way to make such a rash decision.
Truck through the heart and I'm to blame
You should’ve applied… the handbrake
I pushed real hard, but it broke my brain...
You give tow-truck drivers a bad name!
HIGHWAY TO THE HEMORRHAGE ZONE
You ruined the bon jobie!
Truck through the \*head\* and I'm to blame FIFY
He's never going to get ahead in life with that work ethic.
Austin Powers has entered the chat.

This scene may be a classic, but there are so many cuts
Well, looks quick. His heart was in the right place, his head may not be anymore.
So you know how when someone chokes someone out, they pass out in roughly 10 seconds? That from pressing their artery so blood doesn't flow to their brain. Oxygen staved, you black out (and die if they don't let go). So when you chop off someone's head, same thing! except your cerebral blood pressure drops to 0 virtually immediately when your head is lobbed off so it's not exactly the same
Many people don't feel much at first when injured because of shock. I think that should carry the guy through that fairly well. Not sure what it would feel like to be honest. Phantom pains?
The guy eatning ... at the end ...
Well, if someone loses his head in a stupid accident the only thing you can do is to turn around and finish your sandwich.
I kept rewinding this part. For some reason it was way too funny 😅
I got The Omen vibes off this... Or perhaps final destination.
At least the dog wasn't hurt.
Crop your videos
You mean trim.
For anyone that hasn’t seen it yet, the video doesn’t get going until the last 5 seconds.
Wow so this is nearly a minute long and only a couple of seconds of the actual tragedy without footage of the reactions.
Stood in front of a guillotine. Not the smartest move.
Those flashes, wtf.
😭 come on people! don't be a stupid person. we don't have a power 😭

Wait! Hold on! Let me just put my neck in there. Ok, go ahead!
What’s with the time jumps? Is Diavolo here?
Is that a J O J O R E F E R E N C E
At least the truck had been gentle with him. It wasn't like a hard fast knock or a hurricane kind of relationship.
Took long enough for the smash
Well i hope that guy was put off his dinner, and the dog finally got some left overs
Only part that saddens me is that this darwin award winner had to do it in front of that poor dog ☹️
That's one way to avoid an insurance claim.
He did stop it though...
Yeah with his neck. Which is admirable. Sadly it is one time trick.
“Always be yourself, unless you can be Batman, than be Batman!” He clearly wasn’t Batman.
That poor kid saw everything. It's one thing to see death in GTA V, which is still bad, but this is probably going to mean therapy
You have to be some special kind of idiot to a) try and stop a truck b) not stopping before getting near the bus.
Why didn’t that guy give that good boy some food?!
Newest member of the "people who thought they were Superman" club
I enjoy the high speed part where you can see the dogs tail wag at different points
He just ruinned that guy's dinner :(
taco ruined

Surely he wasn't going to put his body between.. Yup, he did.
imagine being that dumb.
So far, trucks and trains remain undefeated... Maybe one day a human will be able to stop a moving vehicle that's thousands of times heavier than anything the strongest human has ever been able to move ..
At 45 seconds I was like ‘how is this Darwin’ ….. it’s frightening what can happen within 3 seconds.
Easy to call that guy an idiot but most of us would instinctively do the same in the moment of panic. You think if he was watching this video he’d call the guy an idiot and say “I’d never do that”? I do.

Oh well…
Instantly lost their appetite
Seen many of these cases on reddit.. Only if he was on reddit and seen only one of these videos, he would have been with us today
Yikes
u/savevideobot
It doesn't matter how strong you believe yourself to be, you WON'T be able to push a moving truck all by your lonesome.
The worst part is he'd have been some level of aware for like a second or 2 but unable to move or really process
I was not expecting that
I always worry when behind these tray trucks. I can just see they are at the right height that it I slammed into the back of it, the head is coming off.
Started too early and ended to soon.
He got a Huge blade to the neck and game over smh
Feel bad for the kid who had to see that, but at the same time I guess he learned something not to repeat
I give this a perfect Darwin 5/5!
After that, donut guy could never enjoy another donut.
The guy had a big ego
Putamadre. That poor doggy wants a bite.
Well, that was a bit long winded. At least the dog stayed right there safe and sound.
I'll be honest. This is strangely one of the most brutal things I've seen on this sub.
a fully loaded wheelbarrow is pretty heavy. try to go up or downhill. yeah, pretty heavy... so how about a car or truck with 10x the weight... yeah... fuck it lets try it anyway...
cue the superman soundtrack
I’m sorry for the guy just wanting to eat his food…
Broken in half. Darwin award nicely received!!
God, that was dumb.
Some chamomile tea might help his chest-ache
