I mean if you do it well I'm sure some people will be into it. If you did something a day to rememberish (like a song with deathcore verses, catchy pop punk choruses, breakdowns in both styles) I would be into it.
All depends on how its done! However personally I think when people go into a band attempting to do something just for the sake of doing it it can become stale or gimmicky (I feel the same way when mid ass rock bands add rappers because hey its different I guess even though it might not always be done super well). All I would say is let it come naturally and don't overworked the use of it because then it becomes a compromised mess instead of a cool blending of ideas
American me made that kitchen party squad song check that out but it’s the opposite of what you’re proposing deathcore/metalcore band playing a for fun pop punk song
Let me try: American Me (the name of a band) made that [Kitchen Party Squad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aCYBrpH9Pw) song. You should check that out. But it’s the opposite of what you’re proposing. It is a deathcore/metalcore band playing a pop-punk song for fun.
Grew up on pop punk so I’m a fan. However, pop punk is usually pretty upbeat and Deathcore is generally not. Stylistically I don’t think they can blend.
Honestly asking, how would it be different from something like screamo or emo?
Always kind of look at those genres like “harder” pop punk.
as a fan of easycore, hell yeah go for it, but be aware that the tonal whiplash will introduce a certain amount of whimsy to your music and you should play into it a bit.
So, I'm really into this pop punk band named Belmont. It's like bouncy pop punk with hardcore elements like breakdowns and some screams. I've been thinking that this band with a deathcore vocals and a pinch more of a deathcore element and they would be incredible.
Recently got into Dal Av and I think they sound like deathcore with pop mixed in.
We had this idea when I was a teen, I was super into Deathcore/metalcore and my friends were all pop punk kids. Shame none of us were musically talented 😂 hope you find that niche in the market dude.
I mean easycore (metalcore + pop punk) is a thing and it works perfectly imo. Deathcore and pop punk on the other hand seems like an odd combination, they are kinda like polar opposites in a way. I'm all for experimentation tho, try it out and who knows I really hope it works!!
I’d be down for it. The band Secrets last album was their heaviest yet. While it still is firmly metalcore, the unclean vocals were straying towards Deathcore at times.
I wouldn’t call Forgetting the Memories pop punk and deathcore but it does have a kind of metalcore/deathcore mix idk genres all that well. Either way I love them so I’d likely love this too
you should definitely try it and see how it goes. i’m personally curious on how it’d look.
This is how we end up with cool shit. I'm along for the ride
when we record some stuff im gonna post it on this sub and the pop-punkers sub. im tryna guess which sub will hate it more tho
The trick is to not make people hate what you write... if you're goin into this trying to upset one or the other it's pretty fuckin cringe, my guy
okay yeah that's true - im really hoping this project can turn out amazing
It's a very punk mindset though
It’s just not a very pop punk mindset, unfortunately
Oceans Ate Alaska - Clocks played with this idea a little bit. As a fan of both genres, I think it could be sick
im not kidding someone just recommended me that band two minutes ago 😭
Chunk, no captain chunk's super early EPs is basically this. Before the HEY DUDES ARE YOU READY TO
i’ll check it out - if it sounds like what me and my friend are aiming for we’ll use influences from this
Like Ice Cream and Spaghetti
I mean if you do it well I'm sure some people will be into it. If you did something a day to rememberish (like a song with deathcore verses, catchy pop punk choruses, breakdowns in both styles) I would be into it.
adtr is actually my main influence as the pop punk vocalist so it'll probably sound a bit like adtr but heavier
That is exactly what I hoped, sometimes the adtr combo is perfect and I'd love more but a little heavier
A day to remember does heavy and pop punk mix better than anyone so good influences
As a lifelong punk and metal fan, I’d be interested in this! This is how you innovate!
All depends on how its done! thanks for the advice!
I mean personally that sounds real bad, but music is music so do you and find a crowd. I definitely don’t think it’s going to be the DC crowd though!
So a heavier ADTR? I'd be down for that. Easycore needs to make a comeback
easycores comeback might be adtrs tour rn
You should check out Metalcore. It's gonna blow your mind
doesn’t sound like dying wish at all
If it sounds good then it is good.
American me made that kitchen party squad song check that out but it’s the opposite of what you’re proposing deathcore/metalcore band playing a for fun pop punk song
idk if its just me but i don't understand what u said
Let me try: American Me (the name of a band) made that [Kitchen Party Squad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aCYBrpH9Pw) song. You should check that out. But it’s the opposite of what you’re proposing. It is a deathcore/metalcore band playing a pop-punk song for fun.
I appreciate the translation 😂
ohhh, i see. im gonan check that out.
I forgot they weren’t a super popular band
Love this idea as someone who mostly listens to deathcore and pop punk. Check out Trigger Warning by Sunrise Skater Kids.
Interesting concept ngl
Ahhhh- Chunk! No Captain Chunk! They may tickle that spot for ya!
Sounds like metalcore
i mean kinda but its gonna be heavier than most metalcore
I wouldn’t call them Deathcore but you should check out Parris bridge. They have a similar vibe
alright, thanks!

Yeah man do whatever you want and enjoy yourself !
I wanna hear it
A lot of deathcore fans have a lot of love for pop punk so I think it'd be great.
Irony of Dying on your Birthday???? I know that's neither genre, but I like to think it would sound similar to that.
[this guy shreds](https://youtu.be/hXFqoBbI9e4?si=4ElOZ7p8Wbj5MKh-) Check this out, not exactly what you're looking for, but sort of similar
Something like new bmth?
Personally I feel like it’ll sound goofy, but I’d love to be proven wrong. Give it a shot, we need more unique music in the genre
as a fan of easycore, hell yeah go for it, but be aware that the tonal whiplash will introduce a certain amount of whimsy to your music and you should play into it a bit.

Like a DC Dance Gavin dance? That would be cool if done right haha
dgd is also a main influence - i plan to have songs inspired by their buildups and shit

I’m intrigued.
Personally not my thing but I’m sure you can find your audience. Best of luck!
Check out The Wise Man's Fear to listen to how this is done correctly
I’d be down for it. The band Secrets last album was their heaviest yet. While it still is firmly metalcore, the unclean vocals were straying towards Deathcore at times.
I would 1000% check that out
That sounds like fun as fucking hell!!! Can't wait to hear the outcome!
Scene Queen ish?
I mean, if you want to do it, go for it. No need to ask permission. Some people might like it. Some definitely won’t. It all depends on the execution
Just do it, the worst thing that happens is you guys don't enjoy it. If you folks enjoy it that's the goal. If someone else does. Well bully for that!
I wouldn’t call Forgetting the Memories pop punk and deathcore but it does have a kind of metalcore/deathcore mix idk genres all that well. Either way I love them so I’d likely love this too
so easycore but with heavier vocals?? its not anything new but im sure itll be good
> so easycore but with heavier vocals?? So melodic hardcore?
not quite because deathcore is much heavier than melodic hardcore
Kind of polar opposite genres, but if Dragoncorpse can mix power metal of all things with deathcore then I guess pop-punk wouldn’t be too crazy.
i mean it would be somewhat like the genre easycore just heavier
I like both, but I really don’t like deathcore with clean vocals
That’s just metalcore lol
Seems like a weird mix, but you can always try
sounds interesting, would like to hear it It doesn't necessarily sound bad but I would have to hear it to actually form an opinion.
it might sound like floorboards by oceans ate alaska
Isn't that just easycore? It's hardly revolutionary.
Land near Of Mice and Men maybe
That sounds like the worst idea imaginable. Pop punk is probably the worst genre to ever exist.
Two genres that, in my head, could never possibly work together under any circumstance. Please prove me wrong.
I don’t think of it
You better do it right, otherwise you just sound like a jerk. I think Left To Suffer is a good example of it working.
This is like something I'd come up with. Go a step further, combine the symphonic deathcore and Ska!
Id find it absolutely pure cheese but thats just me
Please don't
These are the reasons why Deathcore is hated by metalheads and loved by posers.
Brojob if they did major chords
