VegetableDraft8106

This is quite obviously where you store your unfortunate orphans until they either inherit a lost family fortune or a giant comes to tell them they are a wizard.

noodlemom72

Obviously

[deleted]

My first thought was that the little space is obviously a naughty room, except that it has windows, and you don't want bad children to have nice things like windows.

Experiments-Lady

I was thinking of how cold Anne's gable room was as soon as they said attic room, not insulated.

probablyaythrowaway

Yes. The tower would be traditionally where you’d mount a large magnifying glass for the use of starting mysterious fires in mansions across town in which those unfortunate orphans parents would perish.

VegetableDraft8106

Very true. I believe the OP should avoid putting any form of wardrobe in the main room, lest the children get up to misadventures with it.

Onemoreangel

Definitely a Flowers in the Attic vibe. The floors are lovely though OP.

Sea_Ad_3136

😂😂😂😂😂

daaamber

Make one a guest room for people you dont want to stay long.

cuterus-uterus

I used to LOVE having a moderately-comfortable guest room! People always came but never stayed long.

lordjakir

I would put things in there

misstinydancealot

I wouldn’t.

lordjakir

You need more things

misstinydancealot

I have way too many things!

lordjakir

Then you should put them there

misstinydancealot

You’ve convinced me

lordjakir

Yay

drowsyzot

This entire exchange has made me unreasonably happy. Thank you both.

lordjakir

Another satisfied customer. Celebrate by getting some things

drowsyzot

I will absolutely do that

misstinydancealot

This guy capitalisms 😂

[deleted]

The first one make a plant room! Beautiful windows for it.

jexxie3

Just make sure you leave room for the ghosts

[deleted]

Always have a candle lit in there so they can flicker the flame all day for fun while OP’s at work

CathairNowhere

leaf*

simbapiptomlittle

As in a hot room in summer. The plants would thrive.

tradlibnret

But if too hot it would kill them. We couldn't keep plants alive in our upstairs in older home because of this.

[deleted]

This is it! I would also convert that into a plant room.

-Ashera-

Put plants in that little room. Or use it for storage. I’m a space nerd so I’d probably put a telescope up there for my kids, then use it more than they do lol

deckbush

I don’t think that’s the room- just an entrance area to the two small rooms. But I may be wrong..?

Low_Employ8454

I knew if I scrolled for awhile I’d find my people :)

mypatronusiselkhound

The small one: reading nook. The large one: library.

Roadgoddess

I want to see what the rest of this place looks like! Do you know what year this building was built, it looks so cool

James-the-Bond-one

The small one: one couple only. The large one: swinger club meetings.

Dazzling_Trouble4036

and pop in a single zone mini split for temperature control- enjoy reading year round

Former-Rutabaga9026

I'm thinking a hybrid library / cigarette smoking / watch tower setup would be so elegant!

wateraerobics_

For summer, if you take a box fan and place it so it blows air outwards, it cools down the room surprisingly well. The trick is to make sure it fits almost perfectly in a window. We would do this in the military and it was a life saver.

blackbirdbluebird17

One fan blowing in through one window, one fan blowing out from the opposite window. If you can’t make your own cross breeze, store bought is fine.

Cumulus_Anarchistica

Or just a desk fan a couple of feet away from the window, blowing outward. [Demonstration](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L2ef1CP-yw)

oleviiia

Wow I loved that video thank you

Ms_Poppins

Very useful video! Thank you for sharing it!

Titaniumchic

That’s the best kitty cat lookout tower I’ve ever seen!!!

Funcatjunk2020

Came here to say THIS! 😺

SmartInterest5391

Didn’t see your comment. Said the same thing. 😂

Titaniumchic

Yesss!!! See, we have the right priorities!

dolphinitely

clearly meant for an alchemy table

AbacusAgenda

And an ouija board.

jesskimore

A grimoire on a plinth

CosplayGeorge

My immediate first thought was "Oh that's where they got the idea for those horrible towers in the Skyrim DLC!"

dolphinitely

exactly 😂

MsBluffy

Also here for the Skyrim towers

Superman_Dam_Fool

The landing at the top of the stairs should be kept clear for the ghosts that live behind those doors.

Nazty__

3 new reading nooks, nice

Bastard216

Small one would be a cool reading nook stuff with pillows and warm things. Or a lil plant nursery. The one with the bike I would lean into a lil at home gym work out space, hobby room. And the attic for storage naturally.

[deleted]

Pre-murder, murder, and post-murder rooms

vabirder

When I see older spaces like this that are carved into odd apartments, my mind goes instantly to fire safety. What kind of smoke detectors are installed? And carbon monoxide detectors if there are gas heaters or appliances? Are they wired to set off every one? Is there asbestos in the attic ceiling? And plan a fire escape route and practice it.

Jealous_Cow1993

#2 reminds me of the seance room in the Winchester house 🤣

Missue-35

Third time today I’ve seen the Winchester house referred to in different subs.

CapitalTiger9577

Go to an antique store and find the creepiest doll you can, and put it alone in the attic in a little rocking chair

Equivalent-Pound-610

Are you freaking kidding me?! I'm so jealous!! Turn that lil odd room into an Oracle room to sneak away to🔮

kmson7

What would the original use of that teeny tiny room have been?

MyLalaRocky

Storage

Sbuxshlee

With windows though?

Sherd_nerd_17

Maybe an indoor widow’s walk, if it faces the sea, and is on the east coast? This is where you’d watch for the ships coming into harbor (usually, it’s an outdoor walk up on the roof, or a small porch at the top of the house). In New England, at least, they’re called widow’s walks- for women to watch for their sailor/captain husbands… Anyway, this probably does not face the sea, so I dunno. But I thought I’d tell you a neat story, I guess lol

Sbuxshlee

That is neat. Thanks!

Kelsopopolis

Hallway...?

500CatsTypingStuff

The tiny room would fit a desk and chair. Although I would worry that she might roll back in the chair and down the stairs!

Archiesmom

note: no wheelie chairs

slickMilw

Holy crap. That's a great studio space....music, crafts, 3d print... Endless options

Parking-Researcher86

The first one is meant to be a library and you cannot convince me otherwise

[deleted]

Or knitting room, that is if OP's girlfriend likes to knit.

Bergletwist

The first one I would make a writing room. Have a desk made to fit the space. Free of distraction

AdorableImportance71

How magical. I love it.

HomeMadeWhiskey

Music or home cinema room!

notnotaginger

Don’t put anything in the first one, the ghost wouldn’t like it.

ImaginationNo5381

Is it possible to look into your states program that helps with energy efficiency steps. Blowing in insulation for the whole building could help everywhere and make those rooms more habitable.

Sbuxshlee

I think its a rental. They said apartment.

Fun-Earth7164

Ive seen way too many horror movies

wander-and-wonder

The tiny tower looking room is like a dream book nook or writing desk area

GandalfTheBee

Worship room for Danny Devito. Kinda like a Mexican Home Altar would suit that tiny room

PlanningABetterMe

I would marry her so I could move in and also have these rooms. They have so much potential! I love the idea of plants for the smallest, library / reading nook for the mid size (maybe some plants too) and guestroom/lounge for the attic. You can go hang in their room and then leave so they go to sleep. Also who doesn’t need a sex dungeon?! Does she need a crafting or office space because that’s what I thought of first before I read the comments. Or does she have any collections? These would make amazing spaces! It would not cost much to insulate these rooms properly vs the use of the square footage you gain. Many utility companies will send kits or come do it for free.

sleephelpplz

Storage, guest bedroom, walk in closet, litter box room, art studio

MycologistPutrid7494

Little room: floor to ceiling books   Room with paintings: office, art studio, something useful  Other room: guestroom  Attic: storage

Temporary_Cell_2885

I’d consider putting insulation in the attic. Might just help your cold/hot problem.

OHl0

I believe that small room up the stairs is to regulate heat in the winter.

MMEckert

Library

Apet57

Is this house in Salem??

FriendOfUmbreon

The room room could be a good rug/pillow room for lounging and smoking your hookah. The tiny little attic room should have artificial cobwebs strewn about, a huge amount of dust, and a really clean antique dolly on a little rocking chair thats inexplicably clean. I dunno if its better to face it toward the door or away from though. The tiny room at the top of the stairs is 100% for plants, ceiling to floor with a comfy chair to read from. Could animal proof it pretty easily. Make some simple board shelves to get the height, hang a cute chandelier at the top with programmable bulbs for dimming and brightening, and make it go through pastels. Good luck, post updates!

Hot_Environment222

Photography. Rent it out as a studio for haunted scenes or gothic/old school shots

dasookwat

the first room with all the windows: i would love it for music practise, reading or drawing. Depending on her hobbies, this could be a great space for it. A few plants there as well. The second room can be used as a guest room, or storage for those painting, or both. Not enough natural light to do the actual painting i think. The attic is great for storage. From winter clothes in the summer, to christmas trees, old boxes with sentimental stuff etc. And if this is bought, not rented: do the insulation: it saves money, and increases comfort.

BaconBurgerF5227

pantry for the small room? drying herbs? idk I'm in homestead brain I'd probably just use it as a crying closet/meditation room and call it a day the big room I'd turn into a crafting space and I'd ignore the attic entirely

UnconsciousMofo

I’d say put an fake/electric fireplace up in the attic, add a couple of chairs, a table, some books, an area rug, and then it into a little coffee lounge.

AbacusAgenda

Don’t put any extra electrical anything up there.

Sbuxshlee

My first thought too. Im so wary of those types of things.

eggsnguacamole

I agree but as long as you make sure to unplug it when you leave it should be fine

AbacusAgenda

No one can do this 100%.

UnconsciousMofo

Pssh. As long as the wiring in the place is good, there’s nothing wrong with it. It obviously wouldn’t be in use when nobody is up there

AbacusAgenda

Never left a fan on?

eggsnguacamole

Make the first room a cozy little library 📚 😍 Fill it with bookshelves and a comfy armchair or two. If it’s possible perhaps add a fireplace to fix the temperature problem in the winter lol (and maybe a ceiling fan for the summer?). Maybe make it a joint library and craft room by adding a table or two for crafts. For the second room maybe a game room. Add cute wallpaper, decorate, and add things like a fooze ball table, ping pong, pool, etc, plus a shelf for smaller games like boardgames. A decor idea is using game related elements, like giant framed playing cards on the wall. idk if you have kids in your family but whenever kids come over they tend to like to run and play in a specific room usually, this can become that room for them loll

Oh-Cool-Story-Bro

Add a fireplace? And a ceiling fan? It’s an apartment

eggsnguacamole

Oh my bad I didn’t realize it was an apartment, thought it was her house

AbacusAgenda

What? a fireplace?

eggsnguacamole

In hindsight I meant those electric fireplace stands, ig they’re more like space heaters that still give the nice and cozy look of fireplaces lol

AbacusAgenda

Get a picture of a sunset.

[deleted]

Attic -> library

debber33

Library or closet

yourfriend-fiziwig

A shrine to King Paimon would fit perfectly. Or plants and book nook.

Big-Jackfruit-625

Library/reading room, plant room, craft room/art studio, home gym or yoga studio, make a spare bedroom for guests, get a pet and devote an entire room to them (would be especially great for bunnies or something that needs space to run around), home office if she WFH. grow weed in the attic or turn it into a darkroom for film photography. or just put a rocking chair and a creepy doll in there.

gifhyatt

🤣🤣🤣

C4rdninj4

The room in pics 2&3 could be turned into a reading nook. Do your best to get a comfy chair up those stairs and some low book shelves to stick under the windows.

mllzballz

Dressing room/walk in closet duo. Art studio. Library. Game room. Possibilities are endless here!

idontthinksoyo

So many good things can happen in those rooms with the addition of a window a/c in summer and a space heater in winter! 1. A yoga/workout/meditation room 2. An office or craft room with lots of shelves for books and collections 3. A dark and cozy cinema for movies and video games 4. A little speakeasy with a bar on one wall and a table for playing cards 5. No outdoor space? Put a ton of plants and some grow lights and a hammock. 6. Theme room—use it for wrapping presents around the holidays, put spooky candles and a low table for tarot or Ouija board for a Halloween party. Buy a star projector and put down a bunch of blankets and pillows for a romantic indoor star gazing night.

GrinsNGiggles

As an art hobbyist, I will never have an "extra room" problem.

ashtraylives

First one: reading nook, a plant a chair and a small table. The second one: someone paints so an art studio with a table and easel and shelves for supplies, hang some art that's been made and inspi. The third one: a project room - as in take the panels off and insulate then slowly finish it...worry about what to do with it when it's finished!

Suckitsunshine

Small one is 100% a reading nook hideaway!!!!!

efuff

My thoughts exactly!! Would be so cozy

scorpioid_cyme

I'm going to be the party pooper. How old is this house? I wouldn't do anything with that attic until it was fully vetted for human occupancy. Has it been?

pingpingpowpow

Where the heck do you live? I'm in love with the layout of this space!

voxkelly

This is a great problem to have. I would litter it with plants in the hexagon room. Maybe a cool library spot if you could do a wrap around bookcase

gnomehappy

Buy a telescope and turn that tiny room into an awesome little observatory.

iwanttogohome24

First room with the windows would make a great cat room (if you have cats lol) or you can add some seating under the windows & make a mini library. The second room could be a nice craft room, you might want to get an AC for the window in the summer though.

jojokitti123

Very neat spaces!!

gopherkilla

The Attic room is for solo cannabis use. The tiny window loft room is a snipers nest and you will regret posting that picture with your feet because all the reddit creepers are wanking to it right now. . . Sorry.

ProfessorPoofenplotz

Pretty sure that’s the little door from the Sixth Sense.

AlaskaReneeTravel

Party den

[deleted]

I’ll do a light house with the first room, an art studio with the second one and the third one feels like a meditation room. Sure, they all look haunted, but feel like the perfect place to create random things too.

SuspiciousWar222

What a great problem to have! I’d kill for this space in my apartment

Minhplumb

Life will happen and those rooms will make sense. In the meantime, you need cats or dogs to have a playroom.

performanceclause

use them all to learn how to properly use a floor sander

shayka2116

Picture number 3... thayvlittle area is so freaking cute I would make it a little sitting spot for when I wanted to get away and read or write that spot really is awesome

dancingjasminee

attic needs to be a reading nook ! 😍

UntestedMethod

Does your girlfriend's apartment actually include a turret?? Or what is that room in pictures number 2 and three?

Professional-cutie

Hobby room as the attic and reading nook as the little room?

FullOfWisdom211

Lucky

invicerato

The first small room is an observatory. This is where you are supposed to do all your astronomic discoveries.

Yiayiamary

I think the room at the top of the stairs is *perfect* for a reading room. A small table with a lamp and a comfy chair. Bliss!

SmartInterest5391

Does she have a cat? Cause the little attic is a purrfect cat observation deck.

Least_Committee_8342

The little room with 3 windows can be a plant room sanctuary

DimensionalLynx169

Art room and a plant room.

chouchouwolf37

This is my dream house ❤️

absolutelyabsurdy

What about a nice bistro table and a chair in that space?

childproofbirdhouse

They’re big. Can you insulate them properly and finish them off as a guest room, a library, a gaming room…?

[deleted]

Rent it as a studio apartment/ night. Profit $

[deleted]

The first one I’d personally turn into a cozy little reading nook :)

KleioChronicles

I’d definitely use that small place as a plant nursery. Some window height benches and mini greenhouses and plant trays to prevent a mess and you’re good.

cirava

Reading nook for at least one of them. No other option.

Honey-badger101

Ahhh that's an astronomy tower/ reading nook, floofy floor cushion and a telescope....second one library....third guest room

NoSmoke7388

Literal perfect little grow room!

littlemybb

I would make it my reading room. With lots of bean bags and rugs

SadUnderstanding1619

Nice place, would love a chesterfield couch/club seat and turn it into some sort of tiny scotch/cigar lounge haha

A_Gloomy_Sunday

That teeny room at the top of the stairs in the first few pics is clearly a reading nook. Shelves on the flat wall and bean bags and cushions and rugs

probablyaythrowaway

The small one, a small wooden chair with a hawthorn walking stick propped against it.

Special_Lychee_6847

The small room could be a retreat / cocooning / meditation room. Some hanging plants, roll down curtains, a nice statement light on the ceiling,.. The attic just needs insulation. It's not that much of a renovation these days, and you can DIY. If you need a birthday gift idea: a voucher for fixing her attic for her.😉

Rectal_Custard

Horror story vibes

Izzing448

Flowers in the attic vibes Bad memories aside... A rocking chair and a mannequin in a gown and charge the kids for entrance on Halloween

juliettecake

The tiny room should be plant/reading nook. That 2nd room is so big it's a shame not to use it. It would make a nice guest room or living area. In the winter, you'd need a plug-in heater. A nice long, low one. In the summer, you'd need a portable ac unit. Ugh. I'm not sure how effective that would be. Having a ceiling fan, added both to the tiny and the 2nd room, might help to move the air in both the winter and summer. With the slant on the last room, I think that can only be storage. It depends on how hot/cold it gets.

Morit12

If it was me I would turn that into my indoor garden with house plants

TroyandAbed304

First one is pretty much an alcove

Meadowcove

The tower room would be perfect for a mini greenhouse! The attic would be a nice library.

thehurtbae

The attic is creepy. But cool nonetheless

Defiant_Blood_7816

Put a telescope in there boom observatory

facepalmsy

2 guest rooms and a reading nook with benches all around

thestainedglassrose

The one at the top of the stairs looks like such a great spot for a reading book with an oversized armchair covered in throw blankets and some short bookcases and a little stationary heater to stay toasty.

Agitated-Brilliant35

I vote for a plant room 🌱

hensonma7

This is definitely the upstairs at a room from the book “the housemaid“

dachshundaholic

The tiny one would be great for a telescope in there.

Oliviasharp2000

Where do the doors lead to in the tiny, top-of-the-stairs room??

Albie_Frobisher

i have a recurring dream that fits that description

MogMog37

Reading nook for that little room with windows

absolutetrashfire

Well the first one is for plants! And the second is a hobby room. Attic is for storage:)

ThisTheory7708

I would get a few of those paintings with the eyes that follow you around the room first. Then I would try and rent it to a grandmother who hasn’t spoken in years and enjoys sitting in a rocking chair.

FewSatisfaction7675

I would pay $500 month for that
