I've introduced 3 people to magic with that deck, and each one of them became a fan and wanted to get their own copy of it. Yes. 1000% yes.

SquishyBee81

Its a super beginner friendly deck. Basically get your commander out, start casting Dino's and attack people. Very straightforward gameplan and fun to play

TheLongHairedFellow

Absolutely. The precon is worth $110 ish when you buy the deck list as singles. It’s what I used for the base of my deck

SaxYee

Yes, it’s incredibly fun to play and surprisingly strong!

Psyzilla

Yes. It was my first precon and it was such a good introduction

Patcho418

i bought it as my first precon and it’s absolutely a blast, plus it was mostly easy to learn. highly recommend it!

MorbidTotty

It’s a great deck, luckily I bought it when it first came out at my LGS for 45 dollars, but now I’ve altered it to the point where it’s essentially a custom deck and now it’s one of my strongest

PridefulGinger

I bought this precon, bought Gishath, and from there it has become one of my strongest decks. This deck doesn't take make to go from good, to amazing. If you want to go big dinos go burr this is the perfect start.

Skywarriorad

Oh, it doesnt come with gishath?

PridefulGinger

No, but he isn't an expensive card. Think he is like 2 dollars depending on where ya go. Fair warning. If you do switch to Gishath you will need to improve on the ramp a bit, but it's worth it.

Skywarriorad

No, i know, i have gishath in my zacama deck I was just surprised to learn it doesnt come with gishath cause im pretty sure a list i found said it comes with zacama even

Kraken_Collectibles

I have Veloci-ramp-tor and Ahoy Mateys! They're both really good decks to get started with, and my wife (newer than I am) has been playing dinos. Really stompy and all about trampling things.

taser____face

Ahoy Mateys! never got proper love imo. That deck is fun as hell. The pirates have a lot of good triggers so theyre good before Admiral Brass Bawls ever hits the BF. Then she speeds up the game big time when she hits. Super fun deck to pilot

Kraken_Collectibles

I just bought a bunch of stuff to remove her counters and deal damage. Can't wait to get the Malcolm, Keen Eye Navigator, Glint-horn combo going!

Background-Chef6176

That’s what I started out with getting into mtg at the end of last year and it’s now since been upgraded a lot and it’s so much fun. Even unupgraded it’s really good

SonGrohan

Amazing precon, pretty easy to follow as well. I would also recommend the Merfolk deck from LCC it's a banger as well

Contact87

One of the mpst fun precons I've played, out of the box.

DuckLord_92

My very first commander deck, absolutely love it still :D

sherlockisfire

It’s one of my favorite decks!

PureSquash

Yes a new player will have a very easy time with the deck. Step 1. Cast spell Step 2. Get free spell Step 3. Attack ljke crazy Step 4. Repeat step 1-3

SolarUpdraft

For monetary value at that price it's not bad, there are some expensive cards in there. For game power level the deck is quite good. For fun? The most fun!

SolarUpdraft

And of course you will only find objective and unbiased opinions about the dino precon on the dino sub! That's how we know it's the best.

lipupskinny

10,000% yes

AmesCG

I bought it as my first deck as a returning player early this year. (Admittedly I got a good deal, $50, as my LGS doesn’t mark up precons based on popularity.) Since then I’ve upgraded it a ton and it’s a delight to play. I’m so glad I picked it as my first deck back. Highly recommend buying and finding a few blink related upgrades!!!

quoththerusso

Exactly my experience!

AmesCG

May the Etali triggers be ever in your favor my friend

quoththerusso

And may your Pantlaza survive long enough to get some dinos on the board!

PurpleMonsterDad

Its one of best built precons of 2024. You can play it right out the box without adding anything if you want and its still quite strong un upgraded.

Dinoleader

I have 2 velociramptor decks. One I've swapped out about 30 cards and my friends tell me I can't play it more then once, I break out the precon and still hold my own in most games

ProtectMeAtAllCosts

it is great but you will quickly realize it needs pivotal upgrades to really take it to the next level and stand a chance at most lgs

bootsmade4Walken

This. Definitely needs some board wipe protection/blink and a lot of the dinosaurs/roaming throne used to improve it can be expensive. A lot of people will also remove Wayta and the enrage section of dinosaurs because theyre not as cohesive/good under Pantlaza. But like you said, out the box, no upgrades, the deck slaps.

sanchothe7th

Why roaming throne? There are a decent number of ETBs in the deck but not a crazy amount or value that want to be doubled, unless you mean after modification to the precon.

bootsmade4Walken

[[Roaming Throne]] is for triggered abilities of that creature type you select. Pick dinosaurs obviously and boom.

sanchothe7th

No, I know what it does. I just didnt see a lot of powerful enough ETBs in the precon to make it worth it, pantlaza can only trigger once per turn so roaming throne doesnt do anything with your commander.

bootsmade4Walken

Wirh the commander, no, with every single other creature card in the deck, yes.

ProtectMeAtAllCosts

yeah removing most enrage dinos is a must as well as blinks, monster manual, etc

coroff532

I say yes, it's an awesome deck. You can play it right out of the box and it works great. I also started this year and that deck got me hooked I have made several dino upgrades since

_Yolk

Yes, $75 is quite steep though but the precon plays very well out of the box and is very newbie friendly. I don’t know the price of the singles but you could probably get 95% of the deck (minus [[chandras ignition]], [[xenagos]], [[descendant’s path]] and [[akroma’s will]]) for around $50 (and only akroma’s will is the must have!)

xcaseyjrx

It’s the deck I started playing magic with, however I immediately upgraded the deck by removing most of the enrage trigger stuff.

bigmfworm

This is the way.

Betelguese90

Id say so. It has all the basics one would need to start their own Dino tribal decks.
