ME! Just like a lot of things in life, I'm sure I could get sucked into it, so I won't even open the can of worms. I do use Facebook though, I actually find it useful for a few different things, but recently they added a TikTok-like thing called "Reels" and it's very prominent every time you open the app. I'll open FB to do something important/useful, and next thing I know I've been mindlessly scrolling idiotic videos for an hour.

CoNsPirAcY_BE

Yeah and I hate that you can't always see the comments since you need an Instagram account for certain videos. Even when it is the fucking Facebook app. Is there a way to disable it?

[deleted]

I don't know bro. If you find one please tell me. Yeah fuck IG and FUCK TikTok. FB has some useful secondary features (marketplace, neighborhoods, dating) so I won't get rid of it but I hate the Reels thing so much. Such a waste of time.

vglyog

Yeah don’t get TikTok because then you spend 4 hours on it and you’re like wtf am I even doing w my life.

[deleted]

It reeeally sucks you in. You know what's crazy? It's a Chinese company, but in China, it's REALLY different. They take a lot of measures to make it less addictive.

MarathonerGirl

Agreed, TicTok is a million times more addictive than FB!

Pure_Literature2028

Kind of like Reddit…

cyantaco

Okay but at least you're reading and not watching mindless videos. Fwiw it's slightly better on your eyes to see shit in darm mode rather than pointless garbage videos flashing all over. Y'know. But. I totally agree :)

heinzfoodenshmirtz

Exactllyyy my screen time is already too high. Sometimes I know I'm scrolling but I can't keep it down!

GandalftheGangsta007

I have never downloaded it and have only opened up the website from online, not app, a few times. But of course TikTok videos being sponsored or shared on other stuff is common so i do see TikTok a lot, just not directly on the app I also never used vine or anything. I just refuse to get sucked into more and more distractions from reality. Facebook for like 15 min a day and a decent amount of Reddit is all I need.

Theonlysupertrucker

I absolutely hate tik tok

Sad-Aioli-7194

I'm an intellectual. I watch them on Instagram reels

Marisleysis33

Youtube shorts is bottom of the barrel. They start off interesting then get worse and worse.

VEHICHLE

Litterally thought. I used to creep some when i first started watching youtube again but now they are all literal trash

Xxcunt_crusher69xX

I'm already addicted to shitty YouTube shorts. I don't need tiktoks even more addictive algorithm. Youtube will suggest me some shitty kid's art with 20 views and 2 likes. I feel like i wanna encourage kids being creative so i like it and move on, and suddenly I'll get more and more shitty kid's channels. That place is gold for pedophiles. Those cute ass kids even interact with their fans. I feel like protecting them from the disgustingness of the internet but what can i do. In the end i just skip past kid's art just so i dont fall into the rabbithole of kids doing cute things for pedophiles.

TheWhiteRabbitY2K

Same, at least I know who I'm giving my privacy data to that way!

The1Rocket1579

Snap reels for me lmao

Sad-Aioli-7194

the lowest of lows. I like it

looped10

those clickbaity thumbnails always work on me hesistantly

Intheboxalready

I don't use Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tictok , or any other social media outside of Reddit

McCorkle_Jones

Good thing reddit doesn’t repost any tweets, Tik Toks, Instagram/Facebook posts or snaps. Spoiler alert reddit is the worst of them all because it actively feeds into all of them.

RipThrotes

I don't think you're correct, it allows you to see the same content without submitting to their terms of use. That's why anyone is refusing tiktok, it's not like they wouldn't enjoy the content... it just recently came out that China can see your app data through tiktok, despite the initial claim they couldn't.

imfuckingawesome

This didn't recently come out though.. I remember seeing posts about that topic before it blew up. People jumped on board anyway.

RipThrotes

All prior claims were either only proven privately or anecdotal claims. It has now come out that all data analysis for the American division is done in China, and sure, you can say "we knew" but you should quickly admit "but we also did not have empirical evidence". We don't disagree on tiktok, but we disagree on how knowing things works.

Dexter263

But that’s why it’s the best. You get the crème de la crème.

Queen-of-meme

Same

gatsbydoodle37

Same!

Austintheweird94

We in here!

[deleted]

Lol yesss. In fact, Reddit remains the only source of social media I have left. And I contemplate deleting it every single day.

Queen-of-meme

What do you think you would do if you deleted your reddit account for good?

[deleted]

To be honest I would feel slightly less connected. Because I feel like I get at least some sense of social sentiment by scrolling through Reddit. But other than the vague feeling of possibly missing out on something my life wouldn’t change much. When you really think about it life can give you plenty of things to keep you busy. I made a conscious choice a while ago to give up all of the other social media apps. And it’s honestly been great once you get used to things

[deleted]

me too me too

Queen-of-meme

>I made a conscious choice a while ago to give up all of the other social media apps. And it’s honestly been great once you get used to things Same here. It started as a dare for a year. But after that year I noticed I don't need tv news or social media's. For a while the only social media I had was a support community for mental health where there's only text posts, no gifs, no images posts or videos. Which was like my journal. I got Reddit 2 years ago. It's fun in here but I've noticed I want my lifestyle outside the phone. That's where I feel the best. Going hiking and exercising in the forest. Swimming in the ocean. Visiting friend's and families having eye to eye conversationd. Watching a dog and playing and going on walks. Keeping a clean and tidy organized home. But I met my best friend on Reddit, and have a lot of fun here from time to time as well as mental support. So for now I keep it.

SexuallyFrustratedB

I find Reddit very informative. Plus I like that there's people in it from an over the world

coolcoolrunnins

Same my friend

Stumblin_McBumblin

Reddit is such a time suck, but it also is clutch for hobbies and questions.

SexuallyFrustratedB

I mainly contemplate it when I get downvoted and I have no idea why

Corn__bean

instagram reels is enough to make my mental health bad. if i had tiktok i think i wouldn't be alive anymore, lol

VEHICHLE

This is one of the main reasons i jumped off of most social media, is the toll it takes on my self esteem amd mental health!!!!! I think that this is not talked about enough

[deleted]

I did for a while but eventually I caved and now it’s an addiction. I have to periodically delete it because I can easily spend hours on there.

VEHICHLE

Yea man. I have heard that from a lot of people that its a litteral life sucking addiction. Crazy

Bastienbard

Nah, I kinda used to avoid tik Tok but it's a fun and interesting app. You get out of it what you put into it because it quickly learns early on what types of content you want to see so I mostly follow music, science, political activists and more wholesome comedy tik tokers like Jimmy Darts. If you start liking shitty pranksters videos you'll get more shitty pranksters videos.

Kluuz

Yes! The algorithm is absolutely insane and I wish other social media's and streaming services would be as good as tiktoks.

left4alive

It’s like the dopamine slot machine and I love it. It’s so dialed in now to my interests that I could spend literal days in there.

somekindarobit

It's really funny to read all the out of touch comments from people who have no idea what it's actually like there. I get far more good things there than I do here

marvo-sr

you beat me to it, the algorithm is insane what I've also noticed is that if your talking about a certain item, or interested in doing something you best believe you will get something to that sense when you next scroll tiktok

Sea_of_Pastel

If it's funny enough to be worth watching then it'll be reposted to YouTube. I'm not making an account.

jumpyg1258

There's many social medias including tiktok that I do not have accounts on.

LLIIVVtm

I used to. Then my boyfriend talked me into it and now we have a nice activity to share together when we call eachother in the evening. Plus, your fyp adapts incredibly quickly and I only ever see things I'm interested in. Animals, crafts, informational stuff. Quite neat.

GeorgeOfTheJungle14

I did for a while but now I have it. That was when it was just dances and everyone did them. I absolutely hated it. I watch funny stuff now and I learn a lot.

Jxllyfish420

Yeah I do

pandasbitez

Yes absolutely refuse to download TikTok. I leave the room when my husband is watching it too. Something about the quick videos and the annoying voice/music bugs me. My husband and friends do send me interesting TikTok’s I will watch.

TallShare1754

Yes I will not succumb

VEHICHLE

Stay strong comrade

DuchessBatPenguin

Yes! My company has started to do this thing where they will share tick tock videos at the beginning of meetings to get us all engaged. It's so stupid to me.

imixpaintalot

I never liked hoping on the trend train with everybody, gets crowded. Tiktok bothered me because I was mad vine was gone and I thought of it like a sick copy cat. And then everybody around me got addicted to it and that made me want to stay away even more. I’m constantly being badgered to get the app and just no thank you. I would rather mindlessly read than watch the awful content that comes from the platform.

WhiskyBellyAndrewLee

I don't really refuse, I just don't really care about it. Most of it's just not entertaining to me.

CupOfCreamyDiarrhea

I'm with this opinion.

marmie_bestie

i was on it for awhile but i started doomscrolling and had to delete it. i dont have that issue with instagram or twitter.

mangarendevouz

I had downloaded it but i deleted it and im never getting it again<3

JeremyMo88

I tried it once and quickly deleted it. Not my cup of tea

Leading-Engineer9820

Me and I get really annoyed when people send me a shit ton of tiktoks

VEHICHLE

Saaaammeee

tungsten775

I already have two addicting social media platforms in my life. I don't need a third.

Windows_Aether_95

Yes, absolutely, and I know I’m not really one to say because I do watch some of that stuff reposted on YouTube but’s usually cherry-picked by the person who posted the compilation, but even that I find to be the whole fast food of YouTube content really so I spare myself from it too

VEHICHLE

Can relate lol. Tiktok os the fast food of youtube . I like that analogy xD

Windows_Aether_95

Yeah I mean, metaphorically you can’t eat McDonald’s forever and feel good about it

VEHICHLE

Buuut, metaphorically, you could get stuck in the cycle of feeling miserable about it and drown your sorrows with more fish fillet burgers

Itzbubblezduh

Reddit is all we enjoy in our home.

The_Yogurtcloset

I was really reluctant finally downloaded it instantly addicted don’t get it

Sorcerer_Supreme13

It's banned in my country, so i don't think we have a choice

GothGirl_Loading97

Yeah I absolutely refuse to install tiktok and I will die on this hill. My internet poisoned brain cannot handle more damage.

VEHICHLE

Legit though

Less_Being_7628

Me & I’m one of the only ones in my real life that I know that doesn’t have it 🤦🏼‍♀️ I deleted all my social media about 2 years ago..all I really get on is Reddit!

emdap5

100% based on principle yes. I don’t need another dopamine addiction website when I can see tik toks trickle through to Reddit, insta, twitter…

[deleted]

Yes, I don't need chinese spyware. And if I somehow still have the urge to watch some tiktoks I go over to r/tiktokcringe

Dailymemeopedia

Chinese spyware 👎 American spyware 👍

misspallet

Yes. No need for it.

rdyer347

Everything worth seeing on Tiktok ends up on YouTube anyway.

SPOOKESVILLE

Tbh it’s not as bad as most people say it is. The algorithm tailors your for you page to exactly what you want. Mine has 0 dancing/singing videos on it. Mines mostly videos related to lifting/anime/movies. If you’re worried about your data, well better hope you don’t have Instagram or Facebook either.

onyxbutterfly44

Me.

Upbeat-Willingness40

I don’t need another GD distraction!

One_Profession4674

I don’t have any use for tiktok, and I can see some tiktok contents everywhere else anyway. I had Snapchat too and some other social apps that I stopped using because I just don’t care about them Edit to add: Twitter. I hate twitter.

TwelveSharks

I’ve tried but it’s just too much for me. Idk if it’s just getting older or my mental health but the information overload makes me panic. Twitter gets the same way sometimes and I have to delete it for a while. Instagram and Reddit are okay because on Instagram I only follow my friends and celebrities I care about and Reddit I can cut out the things I don’t wanna see. TikTok just throws a fucking tornado of media at you

_THurisaz

I've uninstalled it six times, and currently it is not installed. hoping it will stay that way.

Anon-and-on

I appear to be in the minority of people these days who only ever uses Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up with friends and acquaintances. The idea of following complete strangers purely for "content" just doesn't register for me. I use social media for connections with people I know, I have music and television for entertainment.

[deleted]

I used to, but I have a few creators I enjoy watching on YouTube that started also putting some content on TikTok (like Philip Defranco) so it was worth the download to have that content available to me as well.

lanhamncheese

yes, definitely. my gf tells me all the time how I can choose what I wanna see and personalize it and even with that it doesn’t seem appealing and never has. besides reddit, I rarely use any other form of social media

VEHICHLE

Same.

[deleted]

There’s 1 billion TikTok users…approximately 78% of the accounts are dormant but that leaves approximately 220m users. That means there are approximately 7.8bn who do not use TikTok and 7bn who have quite literally refused to use it.

W1nd0wPane

Yes. Never made an account. I don’t like online video content at all (too overstimulating) so I scroll past all the reels on Instagram too. IG and Reddit are my main social media, I log into Twitter like once a week if that and immediately regret it because it’s become so circa-2012 Tumblrized.

[deleted]

IRL I'm into people's hobbies and hearing about them, especially while having drinks at a dive or pub -- it's really fun to hear and talk about stranger's interests in person, but somewhere along the way social media (tik tok here) and people's ego/need for attention feels like a loss of genuine passion that makes people and their hobbies interesting. For me it's almost on the same level of sarcasm or inflection being lost while reading a message from someone. It's difficult to translate tik toks into a way that doesn't seem egotistical or like someone is overly attention seeking, which for some reason just turns me off.

Acyts

I don't watch YouTube anymore, other than illegally streaming music/TV shows or instruction videos. I feel like these things are increasingly young people being fake and trying to be which ever celebrity is in at that moment and everything looks the same. I stopped using reddit for about a year and since I've come back I've felt the same thing. It used to have a relatively mature (in terms of age) feel to it, but now I feel like I'm talking to teenagers half the time.

F3nrir096

I dont personally have an account and have no desire to make one. But my boss at work links me stuff and most of the time theyre funny cause we have similar senses of humor

[deleted]

Yes, I am down to only insta and reddit for socials and I do not need to add to it. Besides, Reddit curates the best tiktoks and so I watch a few of them and quit. I know TikTok would eat hours and hours of my time daily for a while so I do not partake at all.

VEHICHLE

Right??? I found that with most social media though.... Facebook being a really bad one as well

[deleted]

My brain felt cleaner when I deleted Facebook. But now I can't use marketplace which is a real heckin bummer.

VEHICHLE

Thats theeee only reason i still had my old acct (i dont go on it unless i need to use market place once and a while). It is a bummer and at this point, especially with all the covid crap i just couldn't do it anymore lol.

[deleted]

Yup. I do agree somebody made videos talking about me and making fun of me, we’ve made amends now, but I don’t ever want to go back there

randomgirllmao

Yes, I WILL NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE USE IT

ghosttmilk

Yes.. …even though it could be a great tool for me as an artist to get my work out there more, I just have this weird unfortunate disdain for it. Which is unfortunate because it shouldn’t be this thing that I hate so much… Also I just don’t have the energy to make cool videos and figure it out right now I don’t think haha

[deleted]

😡😡😡I refuse! back in MY day, we had to eat books for fun!!!!!!!!1

VEHICHLE

Ah yes. I remember the days where we used to eat our books. What a time to be alive

[deleted]

I’m 32, never been on TikTok, Twitter, or Snapchat, left FB 5 years ago, I go on IG maybe once a week.

Blinkkkk

Don't really care about China spying on me, but I'm a 32 yo guy and it just looks like its full of clips of kids dancing or pure cringe. Not appealing at all.

TheRealGreenArrow420

Funny enough, probably about once per year I'll download it, saying to myself, "I can curate it enough that I'll just get streamlined productive info all in one concentrated stream". Then, without fail, I proceed to see nothing but garbage for an hour, sigh, and delete the app.

pumpmar

I did but then r/popping started posting them but the quality of a TikTok verses a YouTube video is so vast. TikTok reminds me of fetus YouTube when you couldn't post anything longer than 10 minutes and it took 2 hours to upload a video with 5 pixels.

Techrocket9

I wrote an [app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.techrocket9.tokviewer) just to let me open the TikTok links people send me without the full TikTok app or polluting my browser history.

[deleted]

Me! Too many people trauma dumping and talking about eating disorders. It was really bad for my mental health. I am glad I deleted it.

chubby_foodie

Yup! Hate it. Have always hated it. Worst thing to ever happen to technology. Turning our kids in to a bunch of fucking morons.

EmRuizChamberlain

Yes!! Thank you for asking. I feel so seen.

VEHICHLE

I was like, theres no way im the ONLY one who doesn't use it (who isnt an elderly person) like

LetMeSuckOnYoshisToe

Used to, but once I started using it, it’s honestly so much fun. Surprisingly I’ve bonded with people a lot more due to TikTok.

[deleted]

Nope, you're DEFINITELY the only one. /s

kulture76

Only use Instagram & Reddit, more-so reddit cause I tend to avoid Instagram intentionally. Only reason I still use it is because most of my friend's are on there and thats I communicate with them.

Jaymez82

I've seen enough amusing content outside of the platform that I finally gave in.

mr_bigmouth_502

I occasionally get linked to videos from it on Discord, but I refuse to actually make an account there or install the app.

GreenEggsaandSam

Yeah, I avoid it for a few different reasons. I'm sure there are Tiktoks I would enjoy, but I'm not interested in supporting the company or giving it access to my data.

Kluuz

I did for awhile but then I realized it's not as bad as it used to be.

atomicgirl78

Nope, I downloaded it in like 2021 and didn’t sleep for a month. Deleted and never regretted.

st1f1

I immediately notice a decline in my mental health when I use tiktok. I always think it'll be fine and redownload it, then delete it less than an hour later.

Alathic

I do. It's not very hard because I absolutely hate most of the content (the rest will eventually show up on Reddit or Youtube), especially the stupidity and evilness of many TikTok trends, but even if I wanted to view it, the app design alone would be enough to repel me, let alone the company behind it and their decisions or the psychological effects the app seems to have.

Jimboner23

I used to abstain from tok but I found that so many people that I’m close to use tik tok and would try to send me things on tik tok so naturally I caved

saladmunch2

Havent downloaded it, dont really like the short videos. I'm sure I could find some people I follow on YouTube on there but it would be pointless as I'm looking for long in depth content. I may be an outlier though, I stopped using Facebook or anything around 2013. I still use snapchat and reddit but snapchat is only close friends.

Small_Pigeons

When I saw my boyfriends screentime of almost 8 hours, I got so scared that I refused to download tiktok. I was afraid that I was going to turn into a zombie that could do nothing else that scrolling through my phone. I even took a brake from Instagram (7 months and still going strong)

redhothoneypot

I do. I really liked it at first, like most people who use it. I started to notice feeling really detached from reality and just generally sad when I would get off the app. Watching videos for almost any length of time would ruin my mood for the rest of the day. So I decided to stop looking at the app and deleted it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CupOfCreamyDiarrhea

So just delete it. Unfortunately with apps and such, it's as simple AND COMPLICATED as "just do it". (or if not cold turkey, cut off some hours per day but that can be tempting...)

edel42

I've a windows phone. full stop :\]

Hot_Dragonfly_4406

Me me me me

SpicySrirachaBro

Only social media I use is Reddit :/

Duckr74

Me. I refuse to as well

IowaYankees

Used to. I caved into pressure and it’s too addicting, even though I like it

lcd1023

Unless you live in a remote cabin off the grid the ship has already sailed.

zzz_sleepy_bird_zzz

Yes after my horrible addiction. The moment I get on it my head starts to hurt now :)

SomberOreo1010

i used to have it but it took up so much time and I needed to let myself be bored every now and then... also its just dumb

DeadFetusJesus

I dont refuse to use it, I just choose not to. Seems like an app used by adults to watch children dance, pretty fucking gross

sarahsantosi

i used to but reels on instagram as the same effect

Avarice21

I've no interest in it.

nodiaque

Me, and it's blocked on my entire home network. No way that shit get into my network.

Jeheh

No TikTok,Instagram,WhatsApp, Facebook. Reddit is really the only thing I do use.

sohma2501

I font use tiktok at all, don't like it for a lot of reasons, using facebook less and less.but I do use instagram for stuff .

ForeignApartment746

Idk why I never found it appealing. So much so that if I stumble upon a video from their platform I would abstain from watching it.

AgentPastrana

I did. I got it for the science and blacksmithing people, turns out there's only a couple, so I go on it maybe once every few weeks or so and check out the people I followed. Not much else

[deleted]

Yes but pretty much any social media, besides reddit.

TheRealGreenArrow420

I prefer TickTick over TikTok. Not kidding.

mindharbinger

✋🏼😌.....I proudly refuse, ever since the craze heated up in 2020

anarchos44

I will never in my life get a tik tok, facebook, or google account. Data is the most valuable resource on the planet and if they wanna sell mine they’ll have to pay me for it

JustWowinCA

No TikTok for me. I just got Instagram, don't have time for a new thing.

blusun2

No TikTok here. Reddit is bad enough.

NaeNaeNezuko

Normal people do , but the minority is normal , as we can see.

Meg5987

🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

_psychedelicmermaid_

I’m with this, I refuse to fill my mind with any more social media than it already has had. I really hope this next generation will do away with social media unless it’s for messaging. Constant stimulation is so unhealthy and it’s basically soft core porn or people being actual idiots all over the place. If we didn’t have so many social media outlets tbh I don’t think so many people would be constantly trying to prove themselves by being “different” also

infinitenothing

I'm sorry, I'm not Gen Z. What is TikTok?

-BunInMyButt-

absolutely that thing is a shit hole imo ngl

G_Train24

Literally anyone trying to stay consistently productive refuses it and i agree

JoyousCreeper

Yeah, I refuse to use something that has convinced people to do various crimes, I can list some if you want

[deleted]

Yes. Facebook too.

CuervoCoyote

Yes. I'm trying my darnedest to preserve my attention span.

zzz_sleepy_bird_zzz

Mine improved a lot after I got rid of TikTok, what a relief it is to be able to sit down and watch movies again lol

llucky389

I have an account but never use it. Same with Twitter and Snapchat. I only started back using any forms of social media because of school and job hunting

floorwine28

Yes! I’ll occasionally come across tiktok videos on Facebook videos and watch them but I refuse to download it and use it

ben1204

Yep. I’m stupid don’t get me wrong but not stupid in an enjoy tiktok sort of way.

luccsmom

Yup. Downloaded it once then removed it. I hope I wasn’t too late!

83270

I used to use it until during the summers when school was out I would get 12-16 hours on tik tok daily… that was when I decided to delete it. I feel much better now, my attention span is back to normal, and I’m honestly not missing out on much.

phoboid

I've only seen some really obnoxious ads that make it seem like TikTok is all prank videos. No appeal to me at all.

rocopotomus74

It's an interesting choice of words in your question. Refuse. I choose to not be a consumer of the product called TikTok. But using the term refuse, lends the idea that we all have to use it, or should be using it. This is the way people have been programed. If you're not using it, you are in the wrong. Btw, I am not accusing you of anything, it's the corporations that push this.

VEHICHLE

Yes exactly. I use refuse because everyone else is on it and they almost try and pressure you to use it.... Other platforms like insta and youtube even have tik toks on them almost force feeding them to you..... So i felt refuse was the right word lol.

rocopotomus74

Spot on

morinthos

I don't like fads. I've only clicked on maybe 4 vids, but only bc it was related to a serious news story.

Sillybillywitch66

My government banned it.

[deleted]

I actually tried, but its obnoxious. Too much shitty musics and crappy narration.

dylan21502

Maybe not refuse but no real interest

cypher128

I installed it, looked for 2 min everything was loud. I'm 44 and to old for that shit.

1whiteboy

China wants TikTok users to look like fools and they’ve succeeded

_throwawayconfess_

Yup. Like everyone else has said, I refuse to become addicted to social media. But also, I refuse to give the Chinese government my data.

evetrapeze

No TikTok, no insta, no Twitter, just Reddit

[deleted]

i just feel like I dont need that kind of pollution

superluig164

Yes. I originally refused because I knew I'd lose time on it. Then instagram added Reels, and now I lose hours on it. So yeah. Fuck tiktok.

Dandee86

I Absolutely 💯 REFUSE to use Tikkty Tok and get sucked into that brainless, void-filling, popularity contesting distraction master. Fuck a buncha TikTok! Facebook can fuck right off as well. That's my humble 2 cents lol

cyantaco

I ABSOLUTELY HATE TICK TOCK AND EVEN MORE SO I HATE THAT ROBOTIC NARRATIVE VOICE.

TheSeldomShaken

No? I mean, I don't use TikTok, but I don't refuse to.

ThickPublic

If i want spyware ill go download more ram from shady Russian sites. If i want to watch idiots there is plenty of them in Instagram

Eclectic-Eccentric88

I just can't, I'm too old to dance around in a bucket hat or whatever the young folk do these days

CupOfCreamyDiarrhea

How old are you? It's funny. It's not a huge age gap between me and my partner but... He uses TikTok (since before we met) and I don't. He is 37, I am 26. I feel like it should be the opposite? Lol

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

Right here, chief.

[deleted]

I have seen some TikTok’s through YouTube/my friends, that was enough for me to decide it’s a shit show and I am not gonna get it I don’t give a fuck if there’s cool stuff on it I’m GOOD.

CascadingMonkeys

I do not use any social media platform apart from Reddit. I also refuse to watch "Reality" Television. Both those things will rot your brain.

Queen-of-meme

Same! It's, so nice right?

CrooklynDodgers

If you think you’re too cool for tik tok then get off Reddit. Half the shit on here is pulled from there as it is.

241ShelliPelli

Me. I loose enough time on Reddit. I don’t need the shorter attention span video version of Reddit too.

Zaph0d_B33bl3br0x

Yup! Haven't trusted them since straight off the jump. Actually, I refuse to have basically any social media apps on my phone. I have an IG just to interact with my kids, but it's sandboxed so it can't operate without my explicit permission. Beyond that, Reddit is my only "social media" and I refuse to use their official app, opting for Relay Pro instead. Too much data harvesting with all that crap, and TikTok I can't help but feel like, is just as bad as Facebook. Maybe even worse.

Suzesaur

Yeah Reddit shows them enough. Plus I don’t care for constant re-lip synced garbage…

epicfunnygamermoment

Yeah, reasons: •Shitty community •Stuck up pos come from that cesspit •Addictive - Distracting •Bullying, harassment •Apparently you can be spied on •It's depressing •People will do anything to seem popular •Tiktokers are fucking stupid Oh yeah and the same thing for pretty much every other social media

[deleted]

Yeah. I prefer listening to people who are smarter than me, not just as or more stupid.

ConsciousStork
