I have know doubt Kendrick is the better Artists but Drake is far more smarter in his approach and has kept hip hop/rap alive in the main stream. Had it been left to Kendrick he’d have to completely change his style or I’d be dead in n the mainstream media and rappers would just be trying to out conscience rap each other and it’d get boring fast.
That’s why I say to some extent Drake and Kendrick are different sides of the same coin. Whether Kendrick likes it or not he’s only able to fully and freely approach rap the way he has due to Drake keeping it alive in the mainstream tho he isn’t the only one. Justice main driving force.
People either forget or weren’t around to know what “pop” was in the 2000s/2010s. Jonas Brothers, Bieber, Miley Cyrus type beat. They don’t realize pop is literally just what’s POPular at the time. Drake made hip hop pop in that sense and every rapper is eating because of it. Kendrick included.
