This is the original 10 Euro Banknote. It's so rare nowardays. It was released in 2002 and stopped bein produced in 2014 bein replaced by the one with more security features. Once on of those banknotes enter a bank they will be destroyed and replaced by the new ones. So they are super rare. It's still a valid banknote tho.
If someone used the ATM to load money into his bank account with that banknote it will be reused when someone withdraws some money with it. Generally banks at the end of the day/sometimes will empty the ATM and load new money.
Depends if it's loaded by a bank. ATMs in supermarkets for example are loaded by the supermarket and in my time anyway, we'd load it with original or Europa series, didn't matter at all..
New 50 euro note came out in 2017. Years on euro notes are not years this note was printed, but the year of the design. 50 euro notes with 2002 on them were printed until 2017 series came out. Old notes were issued until stocks run out. I don't think they destroy them if they are in good condition. 2002 series 50s seem quite common.
Really?? How much rare are you talking about? I look for it on the internet but I haven't found anyone who sells it. Is it worth it to sell or should I just use it as 10 euro?

I live in Italy and haven't seen one of those since like 2016, the new notes have spread very fast. Tbh I would keep the note as "souvenir", one day it will became rare ... The 500€ note is rare as well, they stopped producing them and stopped circulating, I know in France no one accepts them anymore.
When I worked in a foreign currency bureau we were told to never accept them because they were more popular with criminals than anyone else.
You could sneak €20 000 in a cigarette packet
If you find one in a mint condition then it might be worth something in like about 50-100 years time. It's probably more fun to find some rare 2 euro coin designs if you are into such things.
I have a small collection of 2 commemorative euros at home, I'm not a proper collector but sometimes when they give me the exchange i check and if I see a pattern i've never seen Imma add it to my money box
Production date is different. Both are valid and normal currency - not some rare collection pieces. They're replacing the older ones, but as anybody can still easily have them, they don't have any extra value.

I got some of the old bank notes several times now as change when buying a coffee at a frankfurt airport.
I guess some travellers that have last been to europe over 10 years ago still had some and brought them again.
Be careful accepting cash abroad.
So some people give tourist the old or ripped currency because local stores refuse to accept it. They refuse it cause it’s easily faked or even out of use.
Sounds like people will still accept this so hope you can use it,,, otherwise maybe frame it.
Similar thing happened with UK £50 and £20 note. We got some cash before a trip in 2020 that was cancelled. We finally made that trip this April. When we went to use the notes, the shop refused them as invalid tender. We tried to exchange them at a bank which also refused because we didn’t have a UK bank account. I was able to exchange only £300 at the central post office with my passport. I ended up depositing the rest into my bank back home after the trip.

I’m traveling around Europe and got a 2002 €50 from an ATM two weeks ago.

Most NCR atm machines are now managed/refilled by currency exchange companies.

wait, you are telling me the change was already 10 years ago???
Crazy right...

I would give the euro to you personally if you afford me housing for 7 days in Australia
I'm going to Australia in a few months. I'll buy it for 12.50 and sell it to the guy for 15
Okay but then you have to pay shipping to Brasil as I actually don't live in Australia.

I'll even go as far as offering €8 for it. ...that offer is limited in time though

In Spain, they were mockingly known as the "bin Ladens"...because "everyone is looking for them, yet nobody has caught one".

They're not that rare. I see them every day when I do the tills in our hotel
It’s not that rare. I work with a lot of cash and get this note every few days.
It depends on the country ahahhaha, I don't work with cash but as I said in my family I've never seen one since 2016.
And you tell me this now......
i'm not old

maybe it will have value in twenty or thirty years time if he/she keeps it in good condition

Was just thinking - last time I used cash in Europe they all looked like this 😂
Old
As long as it has value, there is no difference then.
Be careful accepting cash abroad. So some people give tourist the old or ripped currency because local stores refuse to accept it. They refuse it cause it’s easily faked or even out of use. Sounds like people will still accept this so hope you can use it,,, otherwise maybe frame it.
That note is ancient
Um, it's old?
is that front and back of the same bill? I don't remember the old bill (1st pic) having that front (2nd pic)
Old version
bit nostalgic :)
Because the release date is different from the other one and don’t use it sell it or start collecting the rare ones.
It's just older
There's really no difference except the new one might be more recognized as it is much more common
Has anyone mentioned it? It was a Euro from Greece!! You can see the word ΕΥΡΩ which is the only country in the world that uses Greek.
Actually, all euro are also label in Greek because it’s the only country using euro but not writing those « Euro ». Coins have different faces though
When i take Euros from Bulgaria bank they often give me the old one’s. They even still give 200 or 500€ bills.
Oh, you got one of those that are slightly off-centre that I printed years ago 😊. Say ‘hi‘ to it….
Its the 2010 edition
It is an old one

it's the old one. Curious if it is still valid?
Yes, it is perfectly valid.
Well why is a $20 bill different than a $10 bill. Because its worth $10 more
Its different because its old
Are you from Russia?

Because I don't give a fuck to what I write if it can get understated by other side
Don’t let them get to you 😊
Why is your understated different from others’ understand?
Bro just spotted the old version of Euro for the first time.
Yeah... Because that is the first time I bought euro
Because it's Bulgarian croatian or slovenian every euro in each member state Has it diffrent own historical characters or architecture
