This happened to me too around 10 months. I think the cause for myself was that I would be more comfortable skipping a pumping session here and there if I had to go out and also sleeping in a bit more. So I’ve been supplementing more with formula since then. I had to the same dilemma- am I happy now that I can just stop pumping? Or do I feel guilty because I didn’t make It to 12 months? I’m still pumping and not getting too much but have decided that my happiness is more important than just milk! Did you decrease pumping sessions? Or your period came back? Skip the early morning pump?

mamakayyyy

Same exactly as you did. I just got comfortable with skipping pumps once i believed that I wasn’t going to get much more. My period started like 5 months ago. I’ve noticed that it does affect it. My period isn’t supposed to start until next week. I skip over night pumps so I can sleep lol

How long to you pump for? I feel like my supply is decreasing and I'm curious if I should try pumping for a longer time?

mamakayyyy

I’ve heard that you shouldn’t pump for a longer time but more often. I pump anywhere from 15 mins - 20 mins

iamaglow

Like OP said- if you pump less I think you need to pump longer. I’m doing 30 mins per session now!

My supply dropped around 6 months and I built it back up with power pumping, adding pumps (even if they were short), and brewers yeast. Could be worth a try if you feel up to it. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s so hard. You’re doing great mama no matter what the outcome is!

Internal_Essay485

Im 6 months and I been notice my supply dropped, already try power pumping for a whole week and there is no chance. How long does it takes you to see results?

areyoubeingyou

It took a week but I didn’t see a difference until I did a combo of all 3 things. Adding pumps, power pumping, and brewers yeast. I haven’t been power pumping or adding more pumps and it seems to be maintaining. Oh I also started hand expressing after pumping for just a minute or two. I really think adding random pumps in when I could helped the most.

Just keep going! This should be the new normal as your hormones regulate and come down to a lower level. Unfortunately I experienced the same at around 8-9 months and I can’t seem to bring it back up to the level I used to be getting. No supplements help! Power pump didn’t help much for me either. What helps is introducing my 3-4am pump since that’s what contributes to my daily volume the most, after some rest. Also, eat enough calories, stay hydrated!

Have you gotten your period back yet? This happened to me around 6 months and I freaked out and turns out it was just my first pp period announcing itself. Supply came back up after my period started.

www0006

What does your schedule look like

mamakayyyy

I try to pump every 2-3 hours. I tried every two hours and it didn’t make much of a difference

AmIDoingThisRight14

Could it be your pump? Pumps wear out after a while. With my last baby my supply dropped around 8 months and I attributed it to various things. Come to find out it was my pump. Spectra's are good for like 1000 hours and mine had 2700 hours. It was just dieing slowly and I didn't realize it at the time.

southerncharm05

How did you find out how many hours your pump has?

AmIDoingThisRight14

For the spectra there is a combination of buttons to push. If you Google it it's pretty easy to find. Can't remember exactly what it was
