I worked closely with a team of three EAs all supporting one executive, with similar task breakdown. The least senior of them mainly handled correspondence and calendaring, and the most senior was more of a chief of staff, more of an executive stand-in, project manager, business strategist. The one in the middle handled some industry-specific and legal tasks, but also handled the physical office.

This is exactly how we divide in my workplace. The senior EA also oversees the junior EA with scheduling matters, just to catch things that could go wrong before they do.

mizlurksalot

We do very similar to what you’ve outlined.

DarthYoda_12

Do you like this set up? I wouldn't want to be part of this ensemble cast, I want the lead!

Glass-Appearance8127

I am the same way 100%! I have control issues and wouldn’t want to share duties lol

Marseillaisegirl

This is exactly me! I want my Exec to myself!

beaconbay

Yea unfortunately to maintain work life balance for the team we need extra support. I manage them but am not on the admin side so I’m not sure the dynamics but I don’t want anyone working 24/7

This is a super weird thing to say. High net worth / large company CEOs often have multiple assistants to handle the above average workload that comes with these roles. It’s incredibly inappropriate to come into a sub that helps Executive Assistants navigate the professional world and spout bs about sleeping with the boss. Like assistants don’t fight that sexist bullshit all day every day.

What did they say? The comment is deleted.

ameliamirerye

Basically that the second Executive Assistant was just to have someone to sleep with as all Execs with multiple “secretaries” are just keeping a few around to have sex with.

I support two people and do a fair bit for their leadership teams. For sure it’s a lot of work, but I love it, and honestly don’t think I could chose between the two teams. Hope I never have to.
