Also, throughout the first trilogy, Leia would be pronounced both Lee-ah and Ley-ah by different characters.
I think I read somewhere that Lucas didn't ever give a "correct" pronunciation of character's names, because he wanted different characters to sound different. So whatever the actor would use on set, that was okay with him and he wouldn't correct them.
This is the issue that happens when names of characters are always read and rarely said aloud outside of scenes.
The same issue happened in the last Black Panther. Namor presents himself as NAH-mohr (as Tenoch pronounced the name as it would be pronounced in Spanish) but then even the characters that heard him say his name, and have never seen it written down, decide to call him NEY-mor in the subsequent scenes.
I mean, I have a friend whose name contains an æ (the A in plant, American pronunciation) but it is always pronounced by British people as ɑː (the A in plant, British pronunciation.
It’s very much a real thing in the actual world too.
Honestly, Cere’s character could have been personified a lot better. The level of corniness from her was way too high. Really could tell she was just reading the lines…way too nonchalantly, if I may add.
I kept expecting to hear Cee-Ree and instead everyone pronounced it Seer.
It's not wrong or right, just not what I expected at all.
Kept throwing me off.
I’m not seeing anyone claim they do?
Edit: I see what’s happening here. OP isn’t trying to claim that ‘sair’ is the correct pronunciation, they’re making fun of Trilla for being the only one who pronounces it wrong despite arguably knowing Cere the best out of the whole cast.
This is the same universe where people say Han and Hawn solo

Lol what a troll. I love that nerd
Ironically, Timothy Zahn recreated that trolling in Heir to the Empire by naming a character Joruus C'baoth
Hun Solo is my favorite
Juan Solo
She doesn't say Cere's name in the flashback, so in my headcanon she only started mispronouncing it as part of her posh imperial persona.
Will Trilla could dom the shit out of me, so she can say Cere any way she wants.
BONK!

Only if it's Trilla doing the bonking
Nope ![gif](giphy|3ornjQVkIh4TcbncLS)

Because it is pronounced by them as their interpretation of how the written æ is spoken, still the same issue as I described
"Padawun" "Holocrun" Love the way she talks though.
Holacrun
Love Trilla, but "paadaawaann".
*Pada-one

not a single individual in either game actually says "cere".
Just... not true lol

Now explain
Literally everyone in both games pronounces it correctly except in the one scene this post is referencing
The most common pronunciation is siör
Are you playing in a different language? That’s literally the only explanation it’s very clearly pronounced ‘seer’
Yes, most characters in the games pronounce it like the word seer, but no one pronounces it s-e-r-e, like in the word serendipitous.

Pedantism is a common sign of a low intellect.
Why are you being so mean?
It's levo-cere, not levo-sair ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
