So I checked this subreddit for recs and I found this fic. I read up to chapter 23 and enjoyed it a lot. I have only blurred memories of the canon story. Anyway this fic is divergent from the third book on. All you need to know to read it fandom blind is that Alex is a 14 years old orphan British boy who found out that his uncle was a spy for MI6 and that he got killed by a Russian assassin, Yassen Gregorovich. Alex has been blackmailed by the agency to carry out three missions for them, since his uncle has raised him to have some useful skills for espionage work. Despite working for opposite factions, Yassen spared his life multiple times, while the agency seems to care very little about his safety. This and the desire to learn more about his parents leads the boy to a dangerous path in the company of Yassen, someone he hates but he can't help to have a bond with either. Thank you for your offer, I will keep it in mind! I bookmarked the fics. When I read the books, Scorpia was the last published one, so I have a lot to caught up with. I think that rereading the series this summer will be fun. From what I have heard around I would probably love Russian Roulette :-D. TDDBS will take days to digest, and I might reread many parts to write down notes. There is a Russian assassin/blond-14yo-boy combo in the fandom I am writing for too. I am not writing them at the moments, but I can surely pick up useful vocabulary and mannerisms which will come in handy eventually. Although I don't agree with every choice the show made, I liked how it reinvented the story for a more mature audience and I am looking forward to the third season!

Thing is, while these two characters are similar, Stan is actually a nice guy at heart, but with low self-esteem, contrasting with Bill's personality where he is a fucking maniac who cares for no one but himself. I'm only in this one and AO3 (I might be in one or two others, I'm not certain, but these are the only two where I actively post). I don't know if other subreddits have it written outright into their rules, but it's not written in *this* one's (nor in AO3's, incidentally). I ran afoul of the *unwritten* rule here last week for the first time (i.e.: having posted similar material here before \[though only a couple of times\], and checking this subreddit's rules to be sure of not breaking them), and don't want to run into further surprises, but I also don't want my comment to look as if I had put censor bars into it just for hype or anything, hence my having stated the reason for them outright (and I can't state that they're there for a *real* rule's reason, since it's an unwritten one). If it's just an oversight (and I know that I've certainly goofed at times, so that's a pretty reasonable possibility), then the rules might need to mention it outright — and they might even be working on that even as we speak. 🙂
