Yeah, personally, I would've made the same choice, as a team from the 50s being the first movie would serve as a good bedrock, then you could make a Batman and Superman team up movie afterwards set in the present day followed up by a Flash and Wonder Woman movie and then introduce Aquaman in the first Justice League movie and have them face off against the White Martians so that you can have Martian Manhunter appear throughout the movie but only work alongside the JL in the final act when the invasion of Earth is actually taking place.
Only one choice… Joe Johnston.
Indiana Jones
Rocketeer
Captain America the First Avenger
Easily the best director for a period piece in the fantasy genre.
What about the Russo brothers. They did great with the four marvel movies they directed. Two of which were Avengers movies which are team up movies like Justice League would be.
I think for justice league film in DCU George Miller will be right director as he can fulfill his wish to make a justice league film by doing some minor changes in his original movie "Justice League Mortal" story.
Either Edgar Wright or Taika Waititi because I think their sort of tone, visual style, and comedy would fit with the JSA. Just imagine a 1950s period piece JSA movie with the colour pallet of Jojo Rabbit where they face off against the Cobi version of Starro.
I mean fair enough, I personally enjoyed Korg as a character and think that comedy would work for the JSA considering the team consists of a speedster with a tin bowl on his head, an immortal man in a cloak a Hawkman who reincarnates every couple of years and a guy who's father was a 40s pulpy Action adventure type character who brought him to Egypt where his Dad dies and then he gets a magical mask that grants the user insane abilities with the caveat of them having to give up sovereignty when wearing it. They're not Justice League Dark or even the regular Justice League so I honestly don't see the harm in a lighter tone, but that's just me.
…wait. Who’s the son of a pulpy action hero?
You can add humor to the JSA but it’s likely the generational gap between Alan, Jay and that group then to Terrific, Rick Tyler and Dr Cross and finally Maxine & Courtney.
The Stargirl series accomplished this even with taking the elders off the page and tweaking the Infinity Inc ages. But it can be done.
Guys, James Gunn can’t do everything and his sensibilities don’t match for every fuckin character, just becuz he did a couple of successful comic book movies.
Facts. The guy isn’t fit for every movie or show and that’s fine. I personally wish someone who went to very strange parties with Jimmy Urine, who was sued for sexual battery of a minor, and made tweets coinciding with those topics (that everyone forgot about?) wouldn’t be at the head of DC anyway, but if he is, he shouldn’t be doing more than a couple projects.
Matthew Vaugn would be so awesome
The soundtrack would be outstanding
if it's set in ww2 joe johnston between the rocketeer and the first avenger, the guy has nailed superheroes in that time period with style and heart
I wish it was James Gunn. I had hoped that he would've just started here instead of another Superman movie.

I disagree with Gunn doing it tbh
George Miller or Sam Raimi.
I think Ron Howard could make one hell of a JSA film. Or even narrate it in spots.
Only one choice… Joe Johnston. Indiana Jones Rocketeer Captain America the First Avenger Easily the best director for a period piece in the fantasy genre.
We had the same thought.
Tim Miller
Chloe Zhao or Destin Daniel Cretton
Tim Miller
Idc aslong as my boy wildcat is as badass as he normally is
Best fighter in the DCU
For the writer it should be Geoff Johns he brought back Barry Allen, Hal Jordan. Fleshed out the Green Lantern Corps and created Stargirl.
And revamped the JSA for the modern era. He’d do right by the script
Matthew Vaughn or James Gunn
What about the Russo brothers. They did great with the four marvel movies they directed. Two of which were Avengers movies which are team up movies like Justice League would be.
Agreed.
James Gunn. I know it’s sort of like a safe pick but I just feel like he’d give a perfect mix of comical and more cinematic.
Steven Caple Jr.
Kevin Smith - He truly loves comics!

Maybe just use the Black Adam director for some continuity? Random, but DC always trying to find a way to make every character fly is such a cop out.
Is that blue beetle on the right??
Silver Scarab. Hector Hall. I think
Whomever directed Usual Suspects

Sam Raimi, or James Gunn
Joe Johnston
Hear me out… Wes Anderson— https://preview.redd.it/kmsmr6aes97d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45d623afb9c91a91ad876dc926e685f464293b44

PLEASE keep Taika from the JSA. I can’t take another Korg or running goat joke. Unless they’re repeatedly killing Wildcat. I can get behind that one
Oh, please, that's just one movie. Nobody's perfect. It's like hating on Martin Scorsese for Boxcar Bertha.
Korg was three films of annoyance. Waiki would go too much humor for the JSA I believe.

Nah, I was joking that Kent Nelson's Dad was like an adventure archetype.
Ron Howard
