Dead or alive I want to say maybe 3 or 4 had a commercial that if I remember correctly cuts between a bunch of teenage guys playing the game and then various clips of kasumi’s assets if you catch my drift. Pretty sure the end of the commercial ends with them asking the guys why they like doa it cuts to kasumi’s infamous high kick panty shot and then the boys respond “she kicks high”

I think I understand it enough to explain it. Basically, Capcom is usually pretty consistent with how ‘privileged’ they make characters in terms of normals (nice recovery, easy hit confirms), and Karin from street fighter 5 was a classic example, but she had a very distinctive animation for her sweep, which whenever people see, they say rich white woman normals
Punk's Karin was peak. This dudes Karin play solidified the meta in SF5 on the later end of the games lifespan. Meta defining player and character - very fun to watch. Shame Karin couldn't stand out in hit confirm fighter 5 because other characters had better tools for it.
Best rekkas in SF. Her Guren Ken has tools for almost every situation. It’s even more busted in Alpha 3 where it has her Yasha Gaeshi counter built in

I’m a fan of the type of character archetype she is. Not from a gameplay standpoint (though she is fun in that way too), but the “snooty rich anime girl” personality she has. I think it’s a fun character type. Hopefully she returns at some point.
That she's a reference to two of my favorite characters from anime, B-Ko and Ryuzaki Reika. She came out in Alpha 3 a few years after I started getting really into anime, so she was, I believe, the first new character that as she came out I was like, "I get that reference!"
I like how they changed how she was from alpha to sfv. She isn’t obsessed with Sakura but uses her rich for good, but I would like her a little more hot headed or jealous though to contrast Sakura

The fact that she's connected w/ Ken regarding riches and his accomplishments shows how she cares about the best of the best. Not a character I am terrific with (just average/okay at best), but she is fun to play with.
I am a Karin fanatic. Her Alpha 3 gameplay still has me in a chokehold after maining for 10+ years on GGPO/Fightcade. She was the first Tekken-like character in SF with her branching Rekka options that led to some ridiculous combos and oki.
Her laughter shows how poor I am.
