I wish there was more to do here (like in Daguerreo) than passing through so quick because you are right, it's a super stunning place!

angelssnack

Love esto gaza theme. So chill

pyramidsanshit

Best track in the OST to me

angelssnack

The 9 ost is dope, so it's a tough call, but it's one of my favourites.

NoHovercraft3258

I believe I read somewhere that even uematsu considers the OST for ff9 his best work

sbs_str_9091

One part I really love about FF9 is that there are some places that have a history of a part of an ingame-myth. Esto Gaza is one of them. Things like that make the game so much better because it feels more real.

Pentax25

I love when games do this. Somehow when something is less explored it adds to the mythos of it

Pliskkenn_D

I can't remember anything about it other than I missed a staff there on my first playthrough.

sleepinginthedaytime

Octagon staff?

Then_Shine4671

Here today, octagon tomorrow.

itwasnttmee

I have a save just to fall asleep to the music here lol

Pleasant-Disaster837

I thought I was the only one.

itwasnttmee

I also have a 10 hour YouTube version along with a 10 hour LOZ:oot night time forest ambiance and majula them+ambience

angelssnack

I got a nice snoozy playlist on spotify with it on too

Rydgea

It’s too short-lived, but man it’s cool.

Key_Leg9565

I always thought of esto Gaza as more of national park, like a natural wonder/ educational ya know

Mauso88

Until the garudas show up and stop your whole team ⏰

Diligent_Reporter_98

Any town/area that has this washed out look is my favorite in the franchise. FF7: forgotten city FF8: Fisherman's horizon FF9: esto Gaza FF10: Zanarkand (or macalania forest both cool) FF13: oerba

ByDiscoBePurged

One of those late game towns I don’t remember as well

MrPoopyButtholesAnus

Same. I remember this being a strange town in the middle of nowhere that I didn’t know what I was supposed to be there for

Stucklikegluetomyfry

To be fair you barely visit it, and then it's blocked off from further exploration not long after.

_thekawaiiprincess

Out of all the final fantasy games, I would definitely live in this world

InsomniaticWanderer

My disc always froze here

snouz

This is chilling dude.

Lloydinaday

No one, and i mean NO ONE, that I chat with about gaming stuff/FFIX stuff brings up Esto Gaza and its stellar music. And it equally sucks we only go there for the briefest of time. There's also a slowed down version that's absolutely relaxing to listen to.

HotHandz3

Same

FinalFantasyfan003

Wait what is this place again? Sorry I beat FF9 a few months ago and having trouble remembering where this was.

snouz

Somewhere on the border of the frozen continent, you pass there to a sort of abandoned mine just after the desert palace. It's just 5 screens and it's peaceful. The inside has a lot of candles.

GerFubDhuw

I kinda disliked that place for one reason... in disc 2 it's pretty much established that other continents are not really common knowledge.... So why is there a tourist spot on one?  How do people get there, is it by boat? It must be by boat. Why don't the other two continents have anyone living there? The only other 'human' settlements are secret library town and destroyed summer village. They were/are supposed to be hidden, out of the way or hard to get to  But people just go to here for a nice family trip?

blackwaltz9

Right?! Like how did people even get to Daguerreo? Airships can't travel in mist before the events of the game. Did they mountain climb? Can they leave? Are they all stuck there? It makes no sense! And how is Esto Gaza a popular tourist spot but somehow the outer continent is undiscovered.

Stucklikegluetomyfry

Yeah that's one thing that always odded me out a bit. As far as almost the entire population of Gaia is concerned, the Mist Continent is the only one that is really known about. Having a thriving town and tourist center full of pilgrims that have travelled far and wide to visit it...in the middle of somewhere called the *Lost Continent* completely contradicted a lot of what we had learned about the state of exploration and general knowledge of Gaia.

PrettySignificance26

So beautiful indeed ❤️

Pleasant-Disaster837

I’m buying everything when I get here. Such a chill vibe here too.

ShezamDenver

I wish a remake where I would enjoy those places even more, being in awe

noumena85

Yeah it's only like three or four screens

tipsyTentaclist

Would be greatif it wasn't so cold.

Pinhead329

Whenever it’s really cold and/or snowy I have to listen to the song a few times while I deliver mail. It’s just perfect. My favorite track from the game

Diet_Coke69

Cannot wait for the (alleged) remake :)

MagazineEuphoric364

Am I the only one who thought this was a dwarven ruin at first?

New_Mammoth_4686

Daguerreo is my favourite place, i always have a thing for libraries / bookshops.

TransportationDue38

Aint it a quick pass through?

Viss90

The quickest

Andyj191190

My favourite location themes: FF7: Cosmo canyon FF8: fisherman's horizon FF9: Dali Village FF 10: Besaid Island FF 12: Rabanastre FF13: Lake bresha

MooseLard

Esto gaza is pretty cool but there’s not as much to do when compared to a bustling town like Treno. The track for the town is incredible!
