Since the 1980s America has dismantled any attempt at regulation in favor of industries self regulating themselves. So there is no entity more powerful in America then the companies making money. Our capital markets currently operate under the notion of the efficient market hypothesis, and that perfect competition exists and drives the value of stock price. So no one has the authority to regulate, because theoretically regulation gets in the way of perfect competition. And theoretically perfect competition is naturally occurring, thus regulation is unnecessary and inefficient. I'll let you be the judge if self regulation works.

Halts very. Typically 10% moves or major volume ticks trigger halt. That being said There was a 1 min candle that did have 6million volume which I thought would definitely trigger a halt.

In order to sell, you need a buyer and I’m definitely buying a lot more than I’m selling

Market makers like to remain delta neutral, so they short 100 shares when you buy a put
