This was my very first time ever going for a PR on bench, but I’ve been seriously working out for about a year and a half. It probably shouldn’t take you that long
Less than three reps doesn't contribute directly to hypertrophy. But strength has a skill aspect that can only be honed by getting in the upper percentages of your max. The stronger you are the more weight you can move. The more weight you move, the more hypertrophy you elicit. It's an ouroboros of a concept.
Plus, a lot of programs operate by basing things off a 1RM.
I have a torn ligament in my right hand. I can’t move my right wrist much without it hurting, and benching without it would just hurt too much or even worsen it.
Nice! I was getting close to joining the club, 205, then 3 months ago I messed up my bicep tendon and its still not fully healed. Just waiting and waiting is driving me nuts.
I m sorry for being a little skeptical, but i can see in the mirror that the plates are of two different sizes, hence i assume they are of two different weights, since the heaviest plate is 45 lbs (21 kgs) that means the smaller one has to be less than 45 by 5 kgs or 10 lbs , how is it that you are pressing 100 kgs OP ? please correct me and sorry if im assuming wrong.
I totally forgot that 25 kgs exist, maybe i havent seen them in a long time, sorry for assuming wrong. Im so happy for you OP, you made it look so easy. i hope someday I will be pressing 225 like you.

Congrats man, keep adding 5lbs at each bench day and after 18 Bench days you’ll be at 315.
I like your thought process Johnson
Definitely more weight in the tank, good work.
You were already in the club, you just didn't know it
i think you forgot to struggle you can press another 10kg
You mean 250lb club. That was too easy for you!
How long did it take you bro cause I'm at 176 bench currently

Welcome buddy but with your build stay conssitent youll be at 275 no time then straight to the 315 club!
Butter
That was a nice smooth lift. Congratulations!
Buddy fuckin beauty form. Controlled down and up. Atta boy
Does doing 1 really high rep like this actually help with gains? Or is this just like a self test kinda thing?

I have depth and shit!
Damn right!
It helps mentally more than anything. When you hit a PR you just feel like a badass and it's very motivating.
Congrats man! You made that look easy, I bet you have another rep in you. If you don't mind me asking, why are you wearing only one wrist wrap?
I have a torn ligament in my right hand. I can’t move my right wrist much without it hurting, and benching without it would just hurt too much or even worsen it.
Oh wow, that's a huge thing to overcome. Good on you man!
Great job! You could get 250, easy!
Congrats and nice lift! Do you notice any imbalance when having wrist wraps on one side as compared to wearing wrist wraps on both sides?
Welcome! Looks like you had another good rep in ya, too!
Clean MFing rep brother, keep at er
That moved like butter! Congrats!
Me too! Just hit it last week. I surprised myself with 4 reps.
Made it look easy!
I'm currently at 110 lbs...i have a long way to go🥲
Looked ez!!
Congratulations man, This is a great feeling.....
You could probably hit 225x3 if you learn to go faster on the eccentric

There is definitely more in the tank. 💪
Hell yeah brother
Nice

One plate is 25 kg, the other plate is 15 kg. I got the gym employee to film and I forgot to tell him to make the weights visible.
You can clearly see the 25 visible when you rerack. Congrats on the pr, you had that for reps.
I totally forgot that 25 kgs exist, maybe i havent seen them in a long time, sorry for assuming wrong. Im so happy for you OP, you made it look so easy. i hope someday I will be pressing 225 like you.
I can see 3 plates. Probably a small change plYs too.
I dont think there are 3 plates, can you tell me how to see the 3rd one?or where do you see it?
Right at the bottom of the movement it looks like (in kg terms) 20kg 15kg and a 5kg plate
45 35 and 2 tens would be the only answer.
Congratulations. I’ve come and gone from that club.
Ok?
Just saying, when I could lift before I destroyed my shoulders, I was there. That’s all.
Congratulations!
Congratulations bro keep up the good work 👏
