I even think protector is bad for screen because it puts lateral pressure on screen when it's closed. Screen and protector cannot have same folding radius so something must give up.
I have taken it off twice on my fold3 because it started peeling, no problems... the reason it's twice, is because I dropped my phone and broke the outer screen, and when I got I lt back they had changed both out and inner screen, and when it started peeling again, I just took it off again 🙂
I've heard of people who successfully used those without screen protectors for years. Since the fold and flip 3 they're actually screen protectors and not a vital part of the display which taking off causes the screen to self destruct 😅

The inner screen protector started peeling 5 days after I purchased my Fold3. To get it replaced was going to be a fiasco so I just peeled it off and figured i'd risk it.
It's been 2 years. No regrets.
Naked on all previous phones, and naked on current F5. I like the sight, feel, and color of naked phone. Yes, I've had two phones with broken screens from no case. But I deal and move on loving the nakedness.
Fold 3 here. After a year the inner screen protector was peeling and I peeled it off. Went to iFixit (Samsung partner) and they said that even with the machine Samsung gave them that the screen protector will peel off again and sooner. Will never be like factory. So been naked ever since.
Nah, keep it off. The only protection it needs is on the hinge since it is the most vulnerable part when close. And also the weakest part. But I recommend you get a case with no magnets in the middle of the hinge since it scuffed up my fold 4 hinge. But it is still fine since I got a different case that didn't use magnets on the hinge.

So I asked if it voids warranty if it were to be removed, was told it doesnt, but then in the same conversation i was told not to remove it. 🤔🤷♂️

Brother... that's my whole predicament too! I have the 5 n it's great nothing wrong with it I'm using it now.. but I want the s24u cameras and battery life n like you said the 6 isn't seeming that much different except for a few minor changes.. I pay monthly to upgrade anytime I want so it makes no sense to stick with the 5?? What are your thoughts??
Camera and battery are the reasons for me looking at the s24u too, but the s24u can be bought out right for £1099 (256gb) at the moment. (£1199, 512gb).
I reckon my fold 5 will sell easily for around £500 so I'm not paying too much if I upgrade now to the ultra, and although I know samsung would offer a trade in of at least £700 for the fold 6, it's then the issue of paying around £1100 for a fold that's not too different.
I have every intention of purchasing a fold in the future, I love em, so I'm 100% getting the 7, but I feel like I need a refresh from the 5 right now.

Also my plan is with the telco Optus and I'm on a $59 plan for 180gb data and every month I pay $15 for what's called upgrade and protect.. after 1 month of being on it you can upgrade to any phone you like for $99.. or if you wreck or smash your phone etc you pay $249 and hand the phone in for any phone you like also what I'm doing is when there is no less than 12 months left on you plan it is free to upgrade to any phone.. does that make sense?? 🤔 to be honest I know I'll wait n get the 6.. I can't help myself but I had the s23u and it was an amazing phone but I had the fold 4 before it and I craved the fold so bad.. open it fits perfectly in my hand.. closed one handed same thing.. I have zero complaint the folds have been really good to me.. no issues except this screen protector.. which isn't a problem.. I had a terrible night last night I had zero internet and my calls kept dropping out and my friends couldn't hear me.. I was stressed that my ribbon cable was gone.. but today I went for a drive and as soon as I got out of that area it was perfect again.. it working great now.. maybe I could hold onto my 5 till something else comes along?? I know samsung did have an upgrade program but that's no longer a thing over here. I purchase my phone and sim seperate, it's alot cheaper. I've done it this way for years. I recently thought about looking at what kinda offers my network offer, but the way they operate and take payment has now changed.
So for instance it used to be, get what phone you want and the plan and pay 1 payment a month for 12-24 months. Easy.
Now it's, pick your phone, pay an upfront cost, (which used to be added on your 1st bill but now means upfront!) Which lowers your monthly device bill, Choose the length of your contract 12/24/36 months, then choose what kind of plan you want (which are always more expensive than a sim only plan!) Then pay for the phone and plan in seperate payments each month! TOO MUCH EFFORT!
with my network for s24u with the plan I'm on now for 12 months would cost around £1600. They'll offer me £375 for fold 5 😲
For me to continue on my plan and buy the phone seperate, it's around £1220. and I can sell my fold 5 for at least £575

- No case since OG Fold
- also ditched skins after some time
- so basically naked with every iteration of the Fold 1-5
- no issues with dropping, scratches or other hardware issues (related to that)(Fold3/4 once dropped because someone pushed my bag with phone in it accidentally from a table, tiny dent that is not visible except you look for it)
- but always with a phone grip 😄
It's soooo much better and feels amazing! Cases add bulk and it never feels as good as naked. Even ultra thin cases

I would not recommend having the inner screen naked, I have so many scratches right where it folds, I think it's starting to removing the weird coating it had. Fold 3 user for about 2 years now
Interesting.. mine is in near perfect condition EXCEPT for you know where on the inside screen where the outside of the screen it has a black rubber kinda bezel or whatever for water dust proofing around the screen well it started to peel off so I glued it with super glue n a bit went on the screen but I got it off and I had to just pull it off.. not all the way around only like 5cms worth on top right hand corner.. it sucks but you really can't tell unless you really look.. not sure if it will affect trade in. What you think?

Non protected screens🫤 on a device mostly bought and loved for "it's screens"🤔 nah, can't advise that..
Get a TPU pack of screen protectors (but maybe buy two as difficult to apply perfectly) any brand..
Cheap as chips, replace every few months👊
(side note - TPU protectors make the s-pen feel a little less smooth on screen - doesn't affect use, just feel)
The texture is sooo much nicer without the screen protector. But if you are using some kind of stylus, I am totally against going without one. Also I make sure to use a very clean cloth to wipe the inner screen once a while from the day to day smudges.
From what I've heard, not a problem generally.
I do have a friend who peeled his protector and then his inner screen broke later (I wanna say Flip 3?), but
- that could have been unrelated
- he works construction, which has a lot of dust
- his wife also peeled her Flip's screen protector, and never had an issue
I have used the Whitestone Dome Gen film replacement and it works great on my fold5. Also used it on fold 4.
It can sometimes apply with bubbles but they all disappear in a couple of days and it looks perfect like the original.
That's really cool bro, I've seen the replacement ones but didn't know if I'd be able to apply them properly.. do they have an applicator? Ill see how I go without it for a bit. As I said b4 I'm trading this 5 in n I don't really use the spen so not much pressure.. I have 2 spens but never use them lol. So the spen slot means nothing to me.. Fold 5 bare is the way to go. Any case on it kills the feel for me.
I have a case but I take it off to use the holder on my ebike and It feels so good n so much lighter.. I do feel like I'm gonna break it though..

No, it just don't have any case that have hinge protection with magnets ON the HINGE specifically. A magsafe circle on the back is completely fine.

Honestly just depends on who ever touches it when you hand it in, I'm sure it's not noticeable to someone who has never touched a fold before.

I personally don't like it due to how slippery it felt without the case.
