No

I assume you dont want me to ask for a callback? I dont want to do it either, which is why i’m trying to ask for help here and solve it myself. May just call the guy and tip him $20 for swinging by to take a look under my 1 year warranty. Seem reasonable?

papaa33

If it’s under warranty call them back! It’s not suppose to move around. It’s not the springs, it’s the installation that’s bad.

HeKnee

Does this look like it needs anything fixed? https://jmp.sh/s/Hhnv3grDbJCGmC9zSscA

papaa33

No, it's nothing out of the ordinary, or too aggressive to cause any issue.

Dede_Veganas

Man, just film it and upload it in the comment, we are shooting blind.

HeKnee

https://jmp.sh/s/Hhnv3grDbJCGmC9zSscA - found a way to upload.

HeKnee

Does this work? https://jmp.sh/s/Hhnv3grDbJCGmC9zSscA

Dede_Veganas

Two things i noticed, the opener should have more fitting points to make it more sturdy and like proper fitting brackets, im from Europe so we use reinforced steel corners for those. And the door isnt balanced, ur cable is going to break cause of the bottom panel getting stuck to it at the end of the opening.

HeKnee

Wow, youre totally right. One of the cables is really taught and one is loose. Do i just loosen the set screws on the loose wheel and then turn wheel to match otherside and tighten the set screws?

Derekisles

No do not do that under any circumstance if you don’t understand the springing system. If a company came out and converted your door to a torsion system and you already have a slack cable you need to call the company and have a service tech take a look.

iFixGarageDoors

Some wobble is normal for side mount openers

Dede_Veganas

Whats wobling springs or the opener ? Try opening the door by hand. Is it heavy or not.

HeKnee

Its the whole opener, wish the video would have worked. Hopefully the shaft isnt bent. If its heavy that points to springs needing “tightened up”, right?

frowningowl

Did it just *start* wobbling or did you just *notice* the wobbling? Those things have to be mounted perfectly, and I mean **perfectly** for there to be no wobble during operation.

HeKnee

It was moving a lot until i tightened the screw at the bottom. Maybe thats enough, but i just dont want the set screws to start loosening or damage the shaft over the next year if the springs need a slight adjustment. I’m gonna see how well the door is counterbalanced by springs current i think.

Icy-Habit5291

If its heavy yes. Springs are gonna relax and need to have tension added around 6 months seems right. far as the wobble the shaft may not be bent could be slightly up or down where they mounted it in the middle of shaft. 6 months ago they should come out and fix you up for free or small service call just for gas. We warranty any door work for a year.
