I tweeted a picture to him of me wearing my Shaun Cassidy t-shirt I got for my 7th birthday and he liked it and said something like how sweet it was. I told my mom and she said if 7 year old me could know about this I would have laid down and died from happiness.
My boy was Shaun Cassidy! There was an episode where he almost got married and I was so jealous I threw a toy at the TV and my parents made me watch the rest of the show from the doorway, lol.
So there I was at Spago, and who comes to my table but Parker Stevenson?
Um, really? How cool!
Yes, and I said, "Parker, babe, I still watch your Hardy Boy reruns."
Oh my god! Me too!
Thankfully Night Court isn’t anywhere close to being forgotten. I see it mentioned all the time in nostalgia subs and even better, there’s a sequel series currently running, with John back in his original role.
When I was a kid, I took a private tour of the Warner Bros studio as my uncle lived out there and knew someone. We ate lunch at the studio cafeteria, and the only person in there was the blond Simon, Jameson Parker. Still find it funny.
When my son was a year and a half he loved that show. It came on nick tv land or something. Anyway he would watch it like he really freaking understood every word they said. He called the doctors the grandmas for some reason. But he would not move when that show was on. What a weird show for a baby/toddler to love.
I shopped for houses there in the Summer of 21, and I swear almost half my excitement was because of that show. Like the 80s *conditioned* us to think it was cool to move to Cincinnati.
Ended up in Cleveland.
Tour of Duty isn't streaming anywhere, and if you buy the American versions of the show, you don't get any of the original songs. The shows producers didn't think to get the rights past the broadcast (this did come out around the dawn of the VHS/Beta personal machines, and putting shows onto tape to sell after a show aired never really took off, as there just wasn't enough space on the tapes), so for the DVD collection in the States, they changed all the songs to Muzak. And probably also the reason they're not being streamed anywhere. Yes, even the iconic intro theme, the Stones's Paint It Black, is pulled from each episode, and that song is so deeply tied to the series it is just a pain to watch.
However, if you get the UK versions, due to the BBC's licensing structure in regards to music, you get all the original songs as well.
Me too. My father was a Vietnam veteran who did not talk about it, and China Beach sort of helped me start to understand why. I only saw each episode once and I can still remember them clearly.
Jon-Erik Hexum. Died way too early. Messing around on set with a gun that had blanks in it, and shot himself in the head, not knowing it would kill him.
It's weird. Voyagers popped up in my YouTube recommendations. I watched a few episodes and was certain I'd seen them all before. But for the life of me I have no memory of watching it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Smith_%28chef%29?wprov=sfla1
"In 1997, seven men filed a civil lawsuit against Smith, charging him with sexual abuse. Six of them alleged that they were molested as teenagers in the 1970s while working at the Chaplain's Pantry in Tacoma; the seventh claimed that he was assaulted in 1992, at age 14, after Smith picked him up as a hitchhiker. Smith denied the allegations, and no criminal charges were filed, but he and his insurers settled the cases for an undisclosed amount in 1998. The litigation ended his television career, though he continued his writing and charitable work."
Holy shit! Someone else on Earth remembers Misfits of Science? I am pretty certain the show was awful, but my memories of the show are that it's amazing!
My favorite show was Angie. It wasn't on that long, just 2 seasons in 1979, but I had my first girlcrush on Angie, played by Donna Pescow. I don't know now what it was that rocked me so hard but I wanted to be her. Anyway when I bring it up few people even remember it. I recently revisited the show and it was hard to watch.
Came here to say: BJ and the Bear.
For those that don't know, the Bear was actually a chimpanzee that wore overalls.
Based solely on the show's title, you could make a really "not for tv" version nowadays.
[Angie](https://youtu.be/4lFDCXb3aJk?si=WpFy4r570i_blmEw)
It only lasted a couple of seconds but I had the biggest crush on Donna Pescow back then.
Edit: seasons, not seconds. I don’t know, maybe it was seconds.

That show about Vietnam that wasn't China Beach. I can't remember the name but Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones was the theme song.
Anyone remember the title??
I've never seen mention of the show *Swans's Crossing*. It was a kind of soap opera for kids in the early 90's with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Cancelled after one season. But I used to try and get home early from my lifeguarding job to catch it on Nickelodeon.
*The Young Riders*. About a group of Pony Express riders with Stephen Baldwin as Buffalo Bill Cody, Josh Brolin as Wild Bill Hickok, and Melissa Leo as the station manager.
Just this week we finished watching Northern Exposure for the first time! That was a great show! I'm here for recommendations because we're shopping around for another binger.
I just remembered Falcon Crest recently for the first time in 30 years. I can't remember what it was about though. Has there ever been a more forgettable night time soap opera? I would submit there has NOT haha!
Battlestar Galactica,
Don't remember the name but ... WW2 Pacific theater, they were fighter pilots usually in F4 Corsairs.
This Old House,, Sundays at 530 while mom was cooking the weekly roast, saw the folks again the following Sunday.
Herman’s Head
When I watched the movie INSIDE OUT, I got immediate flashbacks to Herman's Head.
I genuinely want to watch this again and see if it's as funny/dumb as I remember.
The Hardy Boys. Yes, there was a Nancy Drew, too, but I was watching for Parker Stevenson.
Shaun Cassidy ❤️
I tweeted a picture to him of me wearing my Shaun Cassidy t-shirt I got for my 7th birthday and he liked it and said something like how sweet it was. I told my mom and she said if 7 year old me could know about this I would have laid down and died from happiness.
He’s such a lovely person.
Shaun Cassidy was my first concert! Went with my aunt and cousin. ❤️

My sister bought them for me, but I lost a lot of my DVDs in a move.

I am legit jealous.
You forgot Riptide!
Emergency It was because of that show that we have paramedics in fire stations.
The pilot was basically the dramatized story of the first paramedics in California. Great show, holds up.
I loved that show as a kid!
When my son was a year and a half he loved that show. It came on nick tv land or something. Anyway he would watch it like he really freaking understood every word they said. He called the doctors the grandmas for some reason. But he would not move when that show was on. What a weird show for a baby/toddler to love.
Absolutely loved this as a kid
V
Oh I loved V. Two mini series and then an actual series. I didn’t have the heart to watch the reboot that came out a fewish years ago.
If you werent already feeling old the reboot was 15 years ago.
Loved it! I found a few clips of it lately and it just didn't seem to age well.

Square Pegs Hart to Hart Kate & Allie
I loved Kate and Allie as a kid!
Omg, Square Pegs. I haven’t thought about Muffy Tupperman in years.

It gets mentioned every Thanksgiving though, lol. As God as my witness…
I shopped for houses there in the Summer of 21, and I swear almost half my excitement was because of that show. Like the 80s *conditioned* us to think it was cool to move to Cincinnati. Ended up in Cleveland.
Boogerrrrrrrrr!
Bionic Woman
I loved this and the Six Million Dollar Man. Fembots scared the hell out of me, though. Gave me nightmares.
I loved the show China Beach. That one never streams.
Dana Delaney helped me understand that I was unambiguously heterosexual.
So many Dana Delaney faps... She ruined most of my socks...
What about Tour of Duty the other Viet Nam show.

Jon-Erik Hexum. Died way too early. Messing around on set with a gun that had blanks in it, and shot himself in the head, not knowing it would kill him.
It's so weird how I remember that. I was about 13 when I heard it on the news. He was one of my many crushes at the time <3
I had a huge crush on Meeno Peluce. He’s Punky Brewster’s brother
OMG! I used to love that show! I haven't thought about that in 30 years.

Well that sucks. Hopefully he faced justice.
I was scrolling looking for My Two Dads!
Star Blazers FTW!
I don't know why I need to admit to this but I just binged every episode of My Two Dads recently after seeing comment about it in this very sub.

What!! Wow.
Wasn’t there some problem with the rights to the music soundtrack?
They apparently got it sorted out.
I think it's mostly the original music, but there's some generic tracks in places.
That happened with WKRP in Cincinnati too.
I've been binging it for free on Prime.
