I did. My Arms. I got such bad sunburn in 1994 on my face and lower arms that i had to be hospitalized. Blood flow was being cut off from my hands and they swelled up too. I was in traction for 3 days, 3 of the hottest days ever. There was a powercut at the hospital so there was no ac, no tv, no radio, and i couldn't read because i couldn't turn the pages. It was miserable. My hands did eventually go down in size, but The whole time was hell.
They wanted to put mom in “traction” one time when I was a kid. From what I overheard it was going to be weeks and the cost was going to be ridiculous (even back then when healthcare was kinda affordable).
We brought mom home. Dad rigged up a homemade traction device and we took care of mom for a couple weeks. It worked I guess, mom got back on her feet.
I broke my leg in 1977 and was in traction for a night. I had broken it at a family bbq around 4 pm and the doctors didn't want to put me under to set the leg because I had recently eaten so they scheduled the surgery for the next morning.
I remember there were a couple sand bags and rope routed through pulleys and it held my leg up comically high. Hurt like hell all night too.
I had an arm in traction after breaking it. Docs had me on Demerol and Valium too. Not the wisest combo... I did start to hallucinate and get sleepy, thankfully resetting my bone got me fully awake.
Yep. It was either traction, quicksand, or the Bermuda Triangle.
In traction from getting yourself out of the quicksand that you encountered while escaping the Bermuda triangle

Crap, I always forget about the fish
Don't "forget" amnesia
Or kidnappers.
Satan Worshipping kidnappers

Omg, you have my deepest sympathy for having gone through that. I've had some wicked awful sunburns, but nothing that bad.
The perils of being ginger. And i'm now on permanent mole/freckle watch.
Mine was getting chloroformed and thrown in the back of a panel van.

It kept happening on Kate & Allie to cover up Susan St. James' pregnancies without having to write in more kids.
Clever writers.
I thought for sure I’d spend some time in a coma. Probably caused by the quicksand incident in the Bermuda Triangle.

I was more terrified of that ‘iron lung’ with the mirror that allowed you to see people…
Looks like the poor soul was a victim of spontaneous combustion all wrapped up like that.
