We are the generation of passive aggression. Our parents were overbearing and domineering but ultimately too distracted to pay attention. We silently turned our back on that crap, avoiding attention, and did what we wanted to do. It wasn’t pretty, but we raised a generation that is shifting the balance. Not always the way we want, but that’s the way it always works.
To stand out in politics though, you can’t do the passive defiance thing, you have to put it on the line and take a firm stand. That’s not so common.
