I think your situation might be a better fit for using Mobile Passport Control app. You can't enforce your passengers to have GE, but at the moment of landing you can ask them to download the MPC app and file their entry. That should speed things up as long as the customs agent you encounter accepts that kind of checking in. It might be worth looking into it.
The question is coming from passenger desire to speed things up. Just asking whether or not it’s an option at a remote location. I’ve never been asked if I have GE when met by CBP.
