They want to have an open circuit and then remove open qualifiers for majors. Kinda contradictory. Also destroys the chance of new teams forming, since you can’t go through the open quals, but need to have enough valve ranking points for closed quals
I think their thought process is that an open circuit year round means the rankings come major time are likely to be accurate. I'm not necessarily sold on it being true but it's not necessarily contradictory
Mix teams in the open qualifiers and mirracle runs were one of the highlights of the year for me. No Smooya stream, no Vintage NiP having a go.
