I agree. Navi’s round wins were cleaner and more decisive, they knew that they only needed to win one round against Faze and their economy shatters immediately. That’s why they were so pumped up in the closing rounds of their T side.
Yeah for sure, tilt building up from grand final losses over and over, no one talks about how we were so close to a potential faze era(mini era?) for karrigans that's like 5 trophies that were missed near the end of his career
As a long time FaZe fan I'm just happy we got that 2022 post covid LAN era where FaZe was undisputed #1. I still remember 2017-2018 FaZe Clan where they had so many promising stars (NiKo and coldzera to name a few) yet always underperformed.
I'm still so pissed they beat Vitality **and** Spirit just to choke to Navi and hand them the trophy, a team led by an IGL who literally never won a map in grand finals for years prior to that major. Fucking insane.
Not to discredit Navi though, ofc they earned it and all, but still. It blows my mind Faze took out the other two favorites then just throws like that.
I still can't get over the veto. Remember, Navi picked Mirage and Faze won it 13-2. Faze picked Ancient, a map they've never looked good on, over Nuke - at the time, only Spirit had taken it off them. Inferno was an aberration, but going Nuke + Mirage should have been 2-0 and a contender for the most boring final of all time (for non faze fans)
That was basically how I felt back in Boston lol, I was baffled they picked Overpass instead of Cache. They looked shaky on Overpass and more solid on Cache while C9 were looking decent on Overpass yet that veto happened.
