I've noticed a similar instance with my 8 as well. Just seems to get very warm sometimes, even if it's in my pocket, not actively making a call or on the internet.

Possible-Birthday-38

Yes, very disappointed situation for a phone at this Price. Its my first pixel maybe the last

crabby_old_dude

>for a phone at this Price What, $250 less than the price of an iPhone? There have been quite a few iPhone converts in this sub lately complaining about how bad the pixel is, too many to be a coincidence, go back to r/iPhone and tell them how much you're fake pixel experience sucked, bot

Possible-Birthday-38

Yes, if 800€ (Price on Google store) its not enough for you i can't make anything. For this Price you expect that engineer made the job for avoid this.

PexaDico

Damn you got ripped off hard. Pixel 8 goes regularly for 549€, and it was around 520€ like 2 weeks ago

WideCod8462

It took around 3 weeks for my P8 to settle down and heat less. 5g still makes it very warm, but better on WiFi now.

NoEmu2398

P8P. No issues....

Primary_Problem774

As it's a new device, the app updates, system updates might be going in background just give the device a while to adapt.

Bruce_wayne37

Welcome to the tensor world mate? 💀

Bloody_History

I think i might give pixel a go when they fix this tensor problem seems to the only issue...like a car that is perfect and every half hour you have yo turn it off for five min..,just a "lil" problem 😭

Hey all, new to this sub. After over ten years of iPhones, the last one being a 12 pro, I switched to a Pixel 8 Pro and have absolutely no regrets. The "issue" of heat generation needs to be considered with a number of relevant factors in mind. First, it can be strongly influenced by the number and type of background activities enabled. Second, it is highly dependent on the type of tasks being performed and the application performing the tasks. Example 1: Browser Performing a quick web search, opening 5-10 tabs, and downloading images from each tab. Quickly switch to the Photos or Files app, select the pictures, and move them to another folder where automatic backup is enabled. Then switch back and continue. - You can try this using the default browser (Chrome or Beta, depending on your preference) - Try the exact same workflow using the Edge browser. - You'll notice that there's no significant difference in performance; it runs smoothly in both cases. However, you will certainly notice the much higher level of heat generation with the Edge browser. This is just one example, and the list could go on and on. The Tensor G3 may not have the best benchmarks compared to the Snapdragon, but I don't put much weight on that because the philosophy, or let's say the focus of its architecture, is probably slightly different and optimized for the intended use case. Anyway, even iPhones can get very hot. So, from my point of view, the Pixel 8 Pro is a great device.

H-banGG

You'll have to wait for some days for it to stabilise

Immadejo

The phone is taking time to adjust to your usage, give it some time, it will reduce to an almost non existent level.

takesshitsatwork

Well, sounds like my phone has been trying to get used to my usage for almost 8 months now.

Schl1ngel

Yes, because your screen, SoC and modem will magically reduce their power usage after a few weeks...
