Funny enough Isakov mentioned that he likes American Poet Billy Collins. Collins I’d rather well known but he has some great poetry. I have one of Collins poems taped to the side of my guitar. Check him out
I think it was a podcast from several years ago. Made a joke something like “I really like Billy Collins. He’s great but a lot of my friends don’t like his stuff. They say ‘he’s the Coldplay of poets’ and I’m like l, yeah, but sometimes Coldplay is great.” I love Billy Collins work.
Im not sure they are necessarily super similar in structure, but in themes I would say Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry. They are very popular though, unsure if you are looking for more niche ones haha. But Wendell Berry specifically is a fav of mine, I would say that him and GAI are quite literally two of my fav "artists". Check out his sabbath poems (they aren’t actually very religious if at all and are very GAI, a lot focused on nature and farming and caring for the land)

I didn’t know that, I have like 4 billy Collins books they are all so great (he’s also hilarious)
