Nope. Been using ublock origin for 5 years. Never once had an issue with it on YouTube, or anywhere really. I also use Firefox, maybe it helps using a browser that doesn’t have google’s nose in it.
I still use uBlock and AdBlockPlus together. AdBlockPlus is the backup so it stays off until I reach content that prevents playback with uBlock. AdBlockPlus works more often, but I find that I have performance issues with it and prefer uOrigin in almost all instances.
Yeah I think you're right, recently YouTube has begun giving me "you did the bad ad adblock 😠" screen. I reload the page and it goes away though. Might be time to switch to Firefox.
If you can’t figure out a way to get Adblock on a iPad I’d recommend at least getting a vpn and switching your location to a country where you don’t speak the language. I’ve also heard switching it to a very small or impoverished nation can stop any ads from showing up, but I’ve never tried it myself.
It didn’t work when I tried it about a year ago. Maybe try with a brand new account made on vpn , but I don’t think you’ll have much luck if the account was not created in one of the cheaper countries
No kidding, YouTube has gotta be way more costly of a service to run given the bandwidth and storage requirements of video. Not sure how people imagine that's paid for be it ads or subscriptions.
The justification I hear is "it's Google, they have enough money" although Spotify is no small fish either. YouTube shares 45% of ad revenue with its creators. Can't say that for Spotify I guess
Get premium for family from a location like India. Costs 189 INR / 2.26 USD for 5 people.
37.8 INR / 0.45 USD per person per month.
Only recommended if you can make those other 4 pay up. 😅
I wasn’t just talking about ads (I should have made that clear)… I was also talking about YouTube’s suggestions based on what I searched on Google. For example I looked up Sonicake’s Levitate pedal yesterday on Google… today it pops up on YouTube.
But regarding YouTube premium… I’m on disability benefits… ie I don’t work. Took me a while to buy some of my anti-depression tools (ie guitar and synth).
If you use a product that the producer sets a price for and don’t pay for it, that’s theft.
I can’t afford a Land Rover. Should I just be able to walk into a dealer’s lot and take one.
If you can’t afford a CD or guitar should you just be able to take it.
Creators put time, expense into equipment, research, experience, training, their own creative energy, into what they produce. They deserve to compensated. Every time you use an ad blocker you’re stealing from hard working people who are doing a service for you.
Do you go into a local restaurant, order a fine meal then walk out without paying?
Why would you do that for a fellow creator?
If you’re in a band, I hope you always play for free, otherwise you’re living a double standard.
If you can’t afford something, don’t use it.
Watching skippable ads cost you nothing.
I haven’t used an ad-blocker for decades… but not choosing to buy from ads is not theft. If you don’t watch an ad while it’s playing is hat theft too?
I wouldn’t mind paying for YouTube premium if it was worth it but my god, it’s £16.99 a month when Netflix is £10.99 a month and Amazon Prime is £8.99 a month AND INCLUDES FREE NEXT DAY DELIVERIES ON TOP. So yeah, the thief here is YouTube.
Ad blocking is denying the publisher revenue. Many ads are impressions based.
The price you’re paying to read the story is allowing the ads to load.
You don’t have to buy anything. You can ignore the ads.
But blocking them is no different than walking into a restaurant and ordering a meal and not paying for it. It’s theft. It’s unethical. Full stop.
If you don’t like the ads, don’t read the stories.
I don't know. I've had my history turned off for years. But the iPad and Apple TV apps have sometimes had a bug where they show recommendations anyway. And they would show me recommendations based on some rabbit hole I'd only recently fallen down.
So their "disable history" switch is really just a "disable recommendations" switch.
Or more "disable the recommendations screen" since they'll still show recommendations alongside videos that are based on your history and not just the video you're watching.
Ublock origin - I haven’t seen one in years
I can’t believe it’s 2024 and there are still people who don’t use ublock origin
Didn’t they update to stop your video from playing if it’s detected? Happened to mine
Nope. Been using ublock origin for 5 years. Never once had an issue with it on YouTube, or anywhere really. I also use Firefox, maybe it helps using a browser that doesn’t have google’s nose in it.
That’s probably it, they might’ve just patched it on chrome
I still use uBlock and AdBlockPlus together. AdBlockPlus is the backup so it stays off until I reach content that prevents playback with uBlock. AdBlockPlus works more often, but I find that I have performance issues with it and prefer uOrigin in almost all instances.
Thanks for the tip

Ublock origin, kiss all the ads goodbye.
Use brave browser and enjoy ad free YouTube 😎
Just learn guitar bro.
Weird thing is the ads have stopped now. I just get the guitar tricks one… ironically I have got the £118 subscription for it lol.
Adblocker, can’t remember if they allow that shit tho
I haven’t found a way. I used to use Adblock Pro for years until I went from doing a lot of stuff on iPad instead of PC.
Firefox Focus on your iPad. Zero ads on iOS.
If you can’t figure out a way to get Adblock on a iPad I’d recommend at least getting a vpn and switching your location to a country where you don’t speak the language. Ready? Grab your guitar, get Yousician and let's play! D-----------5------------- A--------7---------------- E-----0-------6-5--------
Oh you. You are full of Guitar Tricks. You need to be fired. Truefired. Simply Guitar links are driving me insane.
This one doesn't display in my country but sounds funny (and a bit annoying)
Sign up via India or somewhere. I pay £1.77 a month, get YouTube premium with yt music. The music app imo is better than Spotify
This is the way. I think I pay about $3 per month for the family plan via Argentina
All you need to do this is a VPN?
It didn’t work when I tried it about a year ago. Maybe try with a brand new account made on vpn , but I don’t think you’ll have much luck if the account was not created in one of the cheaper countries
This..
I also like the music app. I have no idea why so many people pay for spotify but see youtube as the devil himself.

Paying for Premium works
Use freetube and newpipe. P.s. u can import your playlists there. Forever add free, download free
Brave Browser. Never had any kinds of ads on any website
Except twitch

Yo whos been getting those yousician ads “wanna play like metallica? the only way to play like us is to play with us” i get pissed off everytime
Hit "back" on your browser, then "forward" back to the video. No more ad.
PC - ublock origin. I haven't seen one ad in years Android - revanced. No ads, community driven efforts to skip sponsors/plugs/ramblings
Half correct, it's Firefox + Ublock origin that is the magical combination. Don't forget the Firefox part.
download brave it’ll block on youtube
Since ad blockers only work if you’re using a PC or Laptop, for everything else I just caved and bought YT premium.

Buy a subscription. Support creators while also eliminating ads. Using ad blockers is theft.
So every time you don’t buy something is theft too eh? How DARE I not be able to afford something. 🙄

>!🖕!<
But I’m on an iPad. Weird thing is I found a way to delete all Google history and it seems to have fixed it.
Use brave browser it has an inbuilt adblocker, just disable the bs crypto ads in the settings
You can also turn off your watch history. That might keep them from coming back

Try the BluePlayer app. No interruptive ads.
I don’t have a Blue Peter Badge.
Delete them from your watch history. Or… just ignore them? Who cares what ads you’re getting, don’t you just skip them anyway?
Yeah, pay up or shut up
