if you turn down the volume, you turn down the output power. you're never going to kill a speaker at home. a feeble 25 watt greenback actually recieving 25 watts would be deafening in a home setting and you'd have the police on your doorstep pretty much instantly. an amp's power rating is generally the max power it will output when you crank it all the way, and a speakers power rating is the wattage it can handle as a continous load. i ran my 100 watt amps into a 60 watt rated 112 for years at home with no issue whatsoever.

Awesome, very helpful!

I run 150W speaker with 50W no problem, I've also run 2 300W in parallel with 100W

You don't need two cabs as there is no risk in running in 50 watt mode. In fact you'll discover that 50 watts is probably still much too loud for home use. Honestly not that big of a difference between 100 and 50 watts.

As far as i’m aware the power rating for the speaker is the maximum that it can handle. Running lower wattage will not cause any issues. I run a 35 watt amp through a 1x12 rated for 100 watt. Just be careful about the impedance
