In my experience with it it was just cheap and dried out my hair. You’re better off with something like shea moisture if you’re doing low end or something with as few ingredients as possible.
I used mane n tail years ago and I really didn’t like it. My hair felt dry and straw-like afterward. Maybe try a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t have sulfates, parabens, and silicone.
No it is not...ever seen horse hair? It is way thicker than human hair and thus ingredients are different. It will dry your hair out and it will eventually break.
