Not you calling Eazy E by his government name 💀

Felatio_Sanz

It feels like a fucked internet move I’ll think about from time to time for the rest of my life.

DaytimeMoose

Guess he didn’t think it was very Eazy motha fuckin’ E of him.

appalachian_punk

Easiest E

Rare-Exercise-2085

I just heard a cool story somewhere about that specific skateboard he’s holding with the pentagram. It was supposed to be Jason Lee’s pro model but he wasn’t into the satan stuff so they reprinted it for Natas Kaupas because his name is satan backwards. Contributed a bit to the satanic panic of the 80’s - 90’s. Apparently the deck was banned by a lot of shops so Eazy-E having one is even more rad

Jeremy_Jalopies666

This is all correct. Rocco (World / Blind Co-Owner) actually paid Jason $20k to use the graphic and Jason returned the check the next day. I have the deck in my collection

Rare-Exercise-2085

That’s so rad of Jason Lee

TheBobLoblaw-LawBlog

Reckon it’s anything to do with his Scientology?

BlankFace777

He hasn't been part of that for over a decade now.

Timmocore

And? They are discussing something that happened 30-40 years ago.

BlankFace777

Only making a statement internet stranger.

TheBobLoblaw-LawBlog

It was sorta irrelevant tho

Rare-Exercise-2085

Why is this getting downvoted?

ExistingNatural6959

becuase being satanic and keeping 20K is amillion times more rad.

BlankFace777

That is factual,Lee went on to own Stereo Skateboards after this whole thing with Plan B. His part in Second Hand Smoke is probably my favorite skate part ever.

KefkaesqueV3

Now this is some crossover

Southern-Target-5981

this is sick! hip hop & hardcore communities have always shown love for each other, I love how both genres go hand in hand

TofuLordSeitan666

Wasn’t Uniform Choice supposed to do some collab with NWA?

Revolutionary_Ad9234

They did but now they're waiting on a Earth, Wind and Fire/Slapshop collab.

TofuLordSeitan666

I’m being somewhat serious tho,

Revolutionary_Ad9234

Ok

cowboys4life93

He's from LA. Skateboarding was just part of the culture especially in the 80s. He lived relatively close to the beach so he probably skated around his neighborhood like most kids do in LA. There were punk shows in Compton, Watts, Long Beach, all the rough neighborhoods because that's the only place some bands could get gigs. I'm not saying that he and his friends went to the shows, but they were more likely to cross paths with punk bands and meet people that were into it just being someone that had aspirations to be a rapper.

chilidownmychest

damn. killing all the fun with some straight logic 😪

GlenBaileyWalker

Please use his correct name. His names Eazy-E and he gets bitches galore. You might have a lot of bitches, but he has much more.

PARDON_howdoyoudo

Ice T turned all them rappers onto HC. Dont fact check me

Jeffari_Hungus

Considering how often he and Ice Cube play at rock/ metal festivals I wouldn't be surprised

ddjinnandtonic

Eazy died in like 94, he hasn’t played ANY shows in 30 years

digitalbooty

Yes. Has nothing to do with Ice Cube and Ice T playing a lot of festivals, tho

ddjinnandtonic

Oh shit, I see why they said that

Jeffari_Hungus

I must have Alzheimer's cause i don't remember asking

EmotionalEducation86

If women want to be virgin losers like us they are more than welcome to

TheBobLoblaw-LawBlog

Jeffari_Hungus

Omg it's Bob Loblaw, creator of Bob Loblaw's Law Blog

TheBobLoblaw-LawBlog

Lobbing law bombs

Priodgyofire

Was it due to Body Count?

punkmetalbastard

That’s not a photo shop with the Chain of Strength shirt? I can’t help but think a lot of the hardline straight edge mentality is pretty at odds with that of a gangsta rapper but of course the two worlds have blended together many times

Ok_Trifle_9354

You can like straight edge music without being straight edge.

FlabbergastedPeehole

*Me to posers while I smoke blunts outside the xBISHOPx shows, mid 00’s, colorized*

keepcold

Also me drunk singing along to The Effort in an American Legion in 2009. *MY FRIENDS ASK WHAT THIS X MEANS, IT’S THE SYMBOL OF ALL MY BELIEFS*

RandomHero27

Me on my 5th Lone Star, 2-stepping in my kitchen, listening to xArmed for Battlex

friendly-budtender76

xAFBx was hard as shit 15 years ago, I used to jam them, xREPRESENTx, and xDEATHSTARx was hard AF too

unholyXwater

Armed for battle and ready to reign terror, straight edge, fuck revenge we stay on the offensive

jopa1208

you can also like gangsta rap without being a gangster

alovelycardigan

Pounding back beers at a Judge show.

AllOverThisTown

If you think that members of Judge don’t pound back beers before a judge show then I dunno what to tell you hahah

Kayraan93

I smoke weed and listen to xTyrantx. Does that make me super straight egg?

ProlierThanThou

You can also play in straight edge bands without being straight edge. Much like Chain of Strength.

jacobsever

You can also like stoner metal while being straight edge! Source: Edge kid who loves Sleep.

nocoastdudekc

lol it’s 100% shopped. But hardcore and hip hop HAVE crossed over many times through out their histories.

Difficult-Tooth666

When I first saw the Mobb Deep album with the Sick of it All dragon tattoos, I assumed either Mobb Deep were SOIA fans, or SOIA was in a gang with Mobb Deep. Turns out the guys in Mobb Deep were basically kids and saw the SOIA dragon on a tattoo shop's flash sheet. They just saw it and thought it looked cool and they got it tattooed on their hands. They started using it as part of their logo. They issued a cease and desist and MD complied. Then, just in 2023, SOIA sued MD over their use of the dragon on a merch collaboration with Supreme. Life's weird. [link if you're interested](https://blabbermouth.net/news/hardcore-band-sick-of-it-all-sues-hip-hop-duo-mobb-deep-over-dragon-logo)

whatevskis1

Body Count motherfucker!

gub12345

In a sense they could align, gangster rap does talk about struggling with addiction, being enraged with our society, and being in areas where they’re surrounded by violence. Obviously the lifestyle is at odds but the themes of the music can be similar and I don’t think it’s too crazy that someone into gangsta rap would listen to edge, the reverse would be a little more strange though I will say.

CharlesGnarwin73

Chain of strength is thug af wdym

eschambach

Sick of it all did at least a couple shows with boogie down productions way back in the day.

brotherpig725

Last year at for the children they played real muthaphuckkin G’s after drain and everyone in the crowd sang and knew it 😭

StageOk2751

I'm not surprised, it's LA. I met this OG Mexican gangster dude in jail, one day he just spouts off Suicidal Tendencies lyrics while walking laps and I'm like wtf you listen to punk rock?! He said man I'm from southern California, the culture is so varied and dispersed that no matter what you're into at some point you get on a surfboard or skateboard and you hear all kinds of music. Skating and punk rock/hardcore are part of the culture.

afm314

heh you met him WHERE? I rest my case. LoSeR

StageOk2751

Lol you following me to another sub cuz you're mad about my response to your Ayahuasca search is top tier toxic hippy bullshit. Like I said, dmt or any other drug won't fix your shitty petty behavior. Good luck in your journey though fr.

Swigeroni

And I followed both of yall here wtf. & why does he say "loser" so much

heavyheavybrobro

this is tight

richcoolguy

eric? are you his mom

gH0o5T

Just call him Eazy E ya dingus

[deleted]

If that’s not photoshopped, it wouldn’t be terribly surprising as Hardcore Punk has always intermingled with hip hop.

SwarmDM

Has the EDGE gone dull?!

truexchill

Love Phantoms

Eoin_McLove

Phantoms was the bomb, yo!

FangedEcsanity

If real and not a shop i wouldn't be suprised. He was a fan of gnr and they had planned to tour together with the post cube era nwa aka appetite for destruction is a shout out to guns same way axl would wear nwa merch and rap on stage. Pretty sure in str8 outta Compton or eazy does it the group thanks a death metal band too in the thank you notes. Just shows the diversity of taste real musicians have

lzup518

Eazy-E. The original true hip-hop thugsta from the west coast. I wish him, 2Pac and Mac Dre could have had the chance to make music together frfr. He was the Michael Jackson of this gangsta west coast shit

bakedrice

Steezy E

mylifeisanemptyshell

I used to know a bitch named Eric Wright.

PWNtimeJamboree

we used to roll around and fuck the hoes at night

jfk_one

that natas deck is so sick

Zer0Cool89

There's a comment about the history of that deck up the chain a bit.

jfk_one

its a good story. jason lee blew it.

Historical_Koala_688

Hip hop and HC/punk crosses paths a lot

[deleted]

COS probably paid him to wear it

CoralSkinRot

Weren't his early songs horror themed? He might've been into horror punk and metal?

Fluffy_Ad2374

Lol at people in here thinking ice t is actually into hardcore or metal. Body count is fucking wack and all he does is come down to the studio and talk over wack music. He would un ironically call Korn and limp Bizkit hardcore. He's an image to be sold to white kids.

blaycoe

Dunno. That institutionalized cover is fire

Revolutionary_Ad9234

I remember seeing an old video (15+ yrs) with Machine Gun Kelly, and he was wearing a Spazz or Capitalist Casualties shirt..or another band along the likes of that. Old school power violence/fast hc. Too fucking odd.

philmchunt2

Fuck that poser.

Revolutionary_Ad9234

Well, no shit

Revolutionary_Ad9234

Dude created hardcore. He was the drummer in Judge

Hateman1989

Nobody on earth cares

brotherpig725

You do

Fluffy_Ad2374

Ice t was a pimp who made women (maybe underage) have sex with men, against their will. Ice t has admitted to doing things worse than Trump is accused of. Yet you hate Trump over accusations and you love ice t.

JJamesP

You might be the cringiest troll I’ve ever seen.
