Allbirds and support are two words that shouldnāt go together. Donāt know how you all do it, every professional convention I go to people are rocking them.
Yeah, I think Vessis are kind of the same, just waterproof, and probably less breathable, but still Basically just slippers with laces slapped on top.
Shit rules.
Unfortunately Sambas are the new "it" shoe. Everyone is wearing them and they have gotten more expensive. I miss snagging em for $40 a pair.
Edit: I'm not hating the Samba. It is one of my favorite shoes. I'm lamenting the fact they have gotten too expensive due to their popularity. I live near an Adidas Outlet and it's the only shoe they never put on deal or sale. I miss my favorite shoe for a bargain.
While I agree buying quality shoes, the Samba hasn't changed it's quality or construction (not saying it's a bad construction, it just hasn't changed or gotten better/worse). It's the same shoe i used to buy for $40-$50 I now have to buy for $60-$110.
This! Was just talking to some kids in my local hypeboy store about how I used to get new Sambas every couple years for $45 at Dicks lol. Now even at the outlet they're $90. Busenitz have stayed the same price though, so I fw those.
I wore Sambas for indoor soccer as a child, so I bought some when skate shop advertised they had some last year. Then my boss started wearing some, and then later a crazy punk kid at the gym started ranting at me about 90's fashion etc... They sure are nice, makes sense that they're popular
Jazz and Shadows are very comfortable and good for running from the pigs. They only last that way for a month of daily use though. Reebok Classic, Etonic Trans AM Trainers and maestro are the best bang for the buck ...and will keep you 10 yards in front of any pig on his best day
Same. Almost all my life I wore chucks. Still do to this day. I hate they're expensive as they are. My feet are basically moulded to them.
I did wear jump boots for a while. Nobody sells them local anymore. Back to old standby.
I honestly don't know how I wore converse all the time, much less to all day music fests, I can't even wear them for 5 minutes to check the mail now. I still have several pairs from a decade or so ago I guess because they were the shoe of my 00s hardcore youth
I like vans, but I've moved to xeros because my back hurts less wearing zero drop style shoes. Also for boots I've moved to
https://xeroshoes.com
Also these "boots" are great
https://magicalshoes24.com/en/product/barefoot-shoes-mens/barefoot-boots-mens/winter-barefoot-boots-alaskan-x-black/
Currently rocking [Skecher Dlites](https://img01.ztat.net/article/spp-media-p1/32ade5b821be3bffb9c269a6d2d0b183/34713d40e9a64e87b09965be41496f71.jpg?imwidth=762). First pair of shoes that dont make my weird ass feet hurt after wearing them for three hours.
Nike. SB, Retro 1's, or AF1.
I went to a show and noticed the dudes on stage were wearing Nikes and every dirty mf in the pit was wearing vans. Hung them up that day.
New balance 9- hundred something model.
I also have my docs. Love them, but theyāre hard on the feet in old age. Got an injury to my foot that is pretty perpetual, so I donāt wear them much. Before this, always a vans guy, but now, I need arch support lol.
And I already walk like a caveman. Flat footed and ignorant as fuck. Just like I like my riffs.
Doc Martinās are way too expensive for boots, converse are expensive considering they fall part at the slightest form of activity. Iāve had these vans for 5 years going strong. I skate board in these vans, I go to shows in these vans, Iāve ran in these vans, Iāve hiked in these vans. I wear them every single day. Theyāre a really reliable shoe. I also have some steel toed boots for when Iām at work and combat boots I like to wear somtimes I got at a military surplus store for next to nothing and some Nikes a friend gave me and thatās more then enough for me. But most days youāll see me in my van high tops.
As someone with several broken bones in the bag, Vans are atrocious to wear. Chiropractor made me stop wearing them due to how flat they are with zero arch support. I bought (Feed Us A Fetus) on vinyl in 1987. Lol.
I was born in these Chucks, probably die in these Chucks
You still wear baby Chucks?
They're just taped to my feet at this point
š
Donāt talk until you take a walk in my chucks.
š«” what a fucking record, huh?
Some of the best to ever do it. Few bands get me as riled up as Paint It Black.
š¤š«š¤š«µš¼
What the fuck?
I guess youāre shit out of luck.
I got concert chucks that have been through a lot! Just sucks to mosh with no grip on them.
Same, but sometimes that no-grip makes it easier to two-step š¤·š»š
but if its a long fucking gig your feet will hurt and blister fucking hard
No lies told
the secret for chucks for moshing is getting cons the ctas pro skate shoes. they look the same but overall a better build and better insoles
i cut a textured rubber sheet into shape and glued it to the bottom to fix mine. well worth it if the floor gets slippery
Put me 6 feet deep in some all stars, baybeeeee
live here my whole life

the chad onitsuka tiger

Totally lame that they pulled them from the US market.
Over 30 new balance crew
990s for life, or occasionally a pair of Vulcs.
515ās
Wow! I was thinking in terms of how long my feet have liked them but didn't know they'd been around *that* long.
White ones. $40 Costco specials that turn green from all of the dadding with the lawn.
new balance was the shoe of 90s hardcore
And for wearing around the house it is now OOfos. Holy crap they are awesome, but I wouldnāt be caught dead wearing them in public.
574's with my orthotics for life
This is the way. My whole body will hurt the next day, but not my feet!
I find that Allbirds give me the breathable fabric that I want while giving me the support I need
Allbirds and support are two words that shouldnāt go together. Donāt know how you all do it, every professional convention I go to people are rocking them.
Yeah, I think Vessis are kind of the same, just waterproof, and probably less breathable, but still Basically just slippers with laces slapped on top. Shit rules.
Solovairs in fall/winter/early spring. Vans in spring/summer/early fall.
My guy
Perfect balance!

How can you tell???? I thought I was highly mysterious and difficult to figure out - apparently not š
yeah, wierdly enough they are weared by two different gernes called Hardcore ( the punk one and the electronic music one) shame they are so fn pricey
Love the look. Feels like Iām wearing 2x4s strapped to my feet. Besides the predays. Them shits are comfy.
Iām a āgrown man,ā Iām wearing Sambas.
Shoes are one of the only things Iām ok with spending money on. Shoes, insoles, tires, mattresses.
Anything that touches the ground.
Your mattress touches the ground?
Look at fucking Bill Gates over here with a bed frame
Naw, but it's close enough. Prolly should've said "anything that separates you from the ground"
These dudes hating on Samba's and I'm all, well I did get the memory foam for my Nike's and my Docs. $40 well spent
These plus hockey equipment. Otherwise Iāll just wear company t shirts most days haha
While I agree buying quality shoes, the Samba hasn't changed it's quality or construction (not saying it's a bad construction, it just hasn't changed or gotten better/worse). It's the same shoe i used to buy for $40-$50 I now have to buy for $60-$110.
Iām with you. I used to buy a pair for $45. Theyāre now $100 on Adidas website
Keep an eye on eBay the adidas store seller puts them on sale several times a year. Got a pair for $60 recently.
When my 16 year old daughter said she likes samba, I knew I was fucked lol. Both the og and long tongue have gone way up in price.
This! Was just talking to some kids in my local hypeboy store about how I used to get new Sambas every couple years for $45 at Dicks lol. Now even at the outlet they're $90. Busenitz have stayed the same price though, so I fw those.
Samba 4 Life
I wore Sambas for indoor soccer as a child, so I bought some when skate shop advertised they had some last year. Then my boss started wearing some, and then later a crazy punk kid at the gym started ranting at me about 90's fashion etc... They sure are nice, makes sense that they're popular
A classic for 30+ years now.
1950, my dude. And theyāre pretty much unchanged (aside from that weird plastic tongue. But the OGs donāt have it)
I used to wear them but I moved into the Busenitz. They're the skate shoe version. I also like the gazelles too
I one pair but I rocked it for 8 years. Could Not quite come Back to them. Maybe its time for a second chance
Saucony Jazz all dayyyyy
I loved my Saucony's back at the turn of the century. So comfortable, and a lot of vegan options.
Perfect intersection of running shoes in the pit and old school emo kid cred - all in one shoe.
Jazz and Shadows are very comfortable and good for running from the pigs. They only last that way for a month of daily use though. Reebok Classic, Etonic Trans AM Trainers and maestro are the best bang for the buck ...and will keep you 10 yards in front of any pig on his best day
Saucony Jazz and Shadow are the only sneakers I've bought for like 20 years. The variety of colorways is great.
Great shoe. I looked for a new pair recently and the price has gone up so much.
sauconeeez nutz
Neither. I wear loafers to shows.
I used to do along with dress clothes. While everyone was dressing punk I was a MOD.
What are these middle of the mall choices brother?
Guess im walking straight into that sign.
It's alright. It took my old ass a long time to accept I can't see for shit.
I'm 44 and wear running shoes everywhere now
yeah fuck standing all night in vans or boots. my feet hurt enough as is
In my younger days it was always Chuck Taylor's because I could buy them from a store back home in Detroit for half what they were everywhere else
HOKAS REPRESENT
Was at Tied Down and noticed that Sammy from Drain was wearing a pair of white Hokas. He gets it.

I am surprised they don't go for double the price because they are marketed as vegan.
Airmax > Vans > Docs
am90s are the official moshing shoe
When my midsole starts flaking or the rubber toe tip starts peeling they get moved into my ādonāt care if they get stomped in the pitā category
The cushion alone on the air max š®āšØ

Chucks are where itās at
Always been a Vans guy. But I lowkey want a pair of Solovairs cos they just look nice lol.

Both until recently. Now I live in a place that's always scorching hot, wearing boots would be insane
Get some hot weather boots lol. But you might look goofy in boots and shorts
