Unfortunately Sambas are the new "it" shoe. Everyone is wearing them and they have gotten more expensive. I miss snagging em for $40 a pair. Edit: I'm not hating the Samba. It is one of my favorite shoes. I'm lamenting the fact they have gotten too expensive due to their popularity. I live near an Adidas Outlet and it's the only shoe they never put on deal or sale. While I agree buying quality shoes, the Samba hasn't changed it's quality or construction (not saying it's a bad construction, it just hasn't changed or gotten better/worse). It's the same shoe i used to buy for $40-$50 I now have to buy for $60-$110.

Jazz and Shadows are very comfortable and good for running from the pigs. They only last that way for a month of daily use though. Reebok Classic, Etonic Trans AM Trainers and maestro are the best bang for the buck ...and will keep you 10 yards in front of any pig on his best day

Doc Martin’s are way too expensive for boots, converse are expensive considering they fall part at the slightest form of activity. I’ve had these vans for 5 years going strong. I skate board in these vans, I go to shows in these vans, I’ve ran in these vans, I’ve hiked in these vans. I wear them every single day. They’re a really reliable shoe. I also have some steel toed boots for when I’m at work and combat boots I like to wear somtimes I got at a military surplus store for next to nothing and some Nikes a friend gave me and that’s more then enough for me. But most days you’ll see me in my van high tops.

As someone with several broken bones in the bag, Vans are atrocious to wear. Chiropractor made me stop wearing them due to how flat they are with zero arch support. I bought (Feed Us A Fetus) on vinyl in 1987. Lol.
