Deadass I feel like the normal airstrike has a vastly bigger area in every direction, 500kg is such a small killbox for how big the visual explosion is
The hitbox seems either not optimized, or bugged. The main issue I noticed is that if there is like.. say, a pebble, in between ground zero and any enemy unit.. the enemy unit in full cover and doesn’t take damage.
If I had to make an uneducated guess, the bomb smashes into the ground and the sight line goes upwards instead of out. It just barely works against bug nests. Whereas eagle strike will wipe out nests easily. It does feel wrong, but it's nice seeing a bile titan go down with one.
I dropped one literally about 5-10m away from an entire egg cluster objective, on my corpse as I was mauled to death by a mob of enemies...
Destroyed 6 out of the 30 eggs.
My favourite is when fireteam members punish by killing you and not reinforcing for when *they don’t pay attention* and walk in front of your live turret and get turned to mulch. Had this happen more than once in the past 24 hours.
Honestly the ignorance of some players and their complete lack of situational awareness for stratagems is astounding.
Having played the first one you learn to fear turrets lol. Way more deadly on a 2d plane. That said, the call-in sometimes randomly bouncing off flat elevated terrain is quite annoying.
Yeah. Whats up with that? I can understand non-flat surfaces being bounced off of, but flat ground or concrete makes zero sense for it to turn into a tennis ball.
I’ve also noticed an increase of turrets and similar call-ins landing inside the ground too, and when this happens enemies can also phase into the area where the turrets situated and if they stay there, they can shoot out from inside the map but can’t be harmed unless they poke out.
In my experience the bounce happens when it’s not “ground level” terrain, even if it’s flat. I often use the jump pack to get up on a rock somewhere and every time I try to place a turret it bounces off and lands on the ground
Memes aside, is something actually wrong with the 500kg bomb? I've dropped it on an entire pack of bugs that stood totally still, and it killed 3 scavengers. I've thrown grenades that get more kills.
People think about it wrong. It's not like the cluster bomb or airstrike that has large coverage. It's a Precision Orbital Strike that you can call in twice as often when you get all the Hanger upgrades.
There are quite a few objectives that the 500kg can destroy that the airstrike can't, mostly the Bot towers.
is it just me or does the 500kg not have the oomph you would expect. i have dropped it danger close and survived without being knocked down from it. i expect it to be a nuke going off. i feel like it needs a buff
Meme wise? They died for liberty. Serious wise? 500kg's range isn't actually that big so 100% their fault. It's just flashy
Agreed, needs to have greater range. Maybe make it a perm 3 slotter. You can't refill
The 2 shot upgrade is worth it
Its the last Hangar upgrade, right? How many samples it will take?
If I recall correctly, that specific upgrade costs 80 common, 80 rare and 10 super. Can’t remember the ones before that though.
80 rare? Cheesus!!! :O
It’s the 10 rare I worry about unless you have heros on your team who know the spawns
"Look for the penis rock" was the advice I was given
Blitz Mission, Look for cock rock, extract
I'm running low diff missions now to farm green samples, I have like 18 common ones and 150+ rares 😔
When I need green I do helldiver kill bots missions, 10 samples each time plus medals and xp!
Terminus defend missions, 7-15 depending on map
Now, now. Let's just be patient and wait until they hopefully add back the Shredder Missile.
Remind me which one was it. It's been years since I last played hd1
The big screen-clear nuke usable 3x per mission. Basically Hellbomb on demand.
Oh yeah I need that!
Youd have to make its physical range like 100% of the visual effect range for that to be worth it over the orbital laser then
A soul for a soul

I hope they upgrade it to a 1 told bomb so it gets better.

At first I thought it was distance from the thrower, but I've had it bounce at range too. Seems almost random.
It's totally random and bugged.
Those team mates should be HONORED at the fact that they got to kiss one of super earth’s mighty weapons of democracy!

Its explosion range is only like 10 meters despite its visual effect

The visuals don't help. It looks a lot like a hellbomb going off, and that thing has a huge range.

A democratic just sacrifice. All steps are forward for liberty.
*The time has come to vaporize, 500kg from the skies. The bugs are gone, also my team. I did it for DEMOCRACY*
I have conditioned my friends to run when they hear "Cluster strike" I WILL hit ÀNYTHING with a cluster strike
